      I rented a prepaid car for the first time from FoxRent a Car though Expedia. The manger at *************** was relatively nice and explained to me that I do not have to pay for tolls as the car has sensors and the charges will be paid when I return the car, however, he did not explain that there is additional charge of ********** for the use of this service. I was a bit surprised when I received the bill with additional ****** for the service not for the tolls that I did not even use. Additionally, there were other fees like VLF, ERF aside from the *** that were not explained at all. This will be the last time I will use Fox, you need to teach your managers to explain to the customers what are the charges of the services you are offering specifically if they are at extra charges. Very disappointed with *** and I would not use it again or recommend it to anyone

      I am very sorry that your charges were not explained fully to you. VLF is vehile license fee and ERF is energy recovery fee both of these are rental fees that you will see were on your reservation at booking and charged on every rental from this location.       A complete joke and waste of time and your hard earned money. For 8 days the price quoted was around 400. Went up to counter and he swindled ** for a bunch of ******** we didn't need nor want. A Kia *** cost me 800 for 8 days. Are you kidding me??? I should have gotten a sports *** for that price. Completely swindled and would never use this place ever and will definitely spread the word about the crooks they are. I emailed them 2 times and never heard back from them. Also lied to about toll fees saying they was in excess of 25 a pice and there was at least 5. I counted 3 of them at 5 a piece far cry from the 70+ they charged me. I'm sure they will respond and say if you have any questions about the bill email us at this address. Please spread word don't use these people they will s**** you. I would have given a 0 but that isn't an option. Seems like if this is a legit place they would fix these problems everyone is complaining about but no they just laugh at us behind their computers saying here is another idiot

      I apologize that you were unhappy with your recent rental. I do show two responses sent out in regards to your insurance dispute. The first one was during the open rental in which you were advised to return to the rental facility if you had a question in regards to the items you signed for at pick up. As all items are a part of your signed rental agreement they cannot be removed without an inspection of the car and a new agreement signed. I see a second dispute opened, in which the agent went to the location for assistance and they stated they provided you with a rental package as a walk in rental. As a reservation was not made prior to pick up this option of a rental package was provided at pick up. I do show that all items charged to you were signed for on the rental agreement but do apologize that you were not satisfied with your transaction.

      I called and made a reservation and received a confirmation via email showing my car rental to be just under $300.00. When I arrived at the counter I was informed that due to a storm, there were no cars available that I asked for and was told the only car available was a Dodge Charger. I had to be home this Christmas to visit a terminally ill family member. Needless to say my bill came to almost $1,700.00. This place will rip you off the second you walk in the door. Do not do business with them by any means.

      We prepaid for a rental car DIRECTLY on the fox rent a car site two weeks ago, in order to get ready for our holiday travel starting on 12/24. We booked a large SUV that could fit 5 people and a fair bit of luggage. We had never used fox rent a car before, but we given we were preparing in full for the **** it would hard to get *******. Well, after getting to our destination (***** airport / *******) and bundling ** in the -5 degree weather on Xmas eve, I got to the fox rent a car checkout counter to see about 5 angry customers in line. I had a bad feeling and asked someone in line what happened. I soon learned that *** had run out of cars for the night, even if you had a reservation. This was a bit mind blowing to me. What exactly was the point of paying ahead of time when fox would ********** our car out anyway? The woman at the counter was cordial, but ultimately had no explanations to the group of customers that got the short end of the stick at 9pm in frigid weather, on Xmas eve. Where was the text or email or phone call AHEAD OF TIME that they wouldn't have a car for **? Where was the courtesy? Let's put aside for a moment that fox has more inventory management/controls, but when things started looking bleak for late pick-**** why not do the last right thing for customers and let them know ahead of time that the lot was empty? I still don't get why anyone would trust fox to ever put the customer first. I have yet to get an official explanation for what happened, despite putting in my customer complaint on the ********************** website. When a consumer-facing company has no regard for the basic considerations of its customers, it begins to lose the faith of patrons that said company could ever customer satisfaction over profit maximizing tactics. But alas, the experience we had, after trying to do all the right things (prepaying in full on the fox site!), left us with one common refrain: never rent from fox rent a car...no contract from them can be trusted!

      So you guys take a reservation from someone who prepays and you can't fulfill the reservation, and your only response is "well you at least got your money back?" Where's the accountability? How about offering some visibility into what happened so that people on here know it won't happen again? How about offering some perks to people effected so they don't hate your brand? If there are no financial repercussions for not honoring a contract to your customers, why should anyone prepay a reservation with fox-rent-a-car? I would say this is the most disconcerting revelation from the whole saga. Not only did your team not do anything about it (perhaps offer to deliver the car the next day or offer credit on another booking), you just throw your hands up and say "oh well, sorry!" Maybe I missed the accountability that you did take in this situation (and if you did, pls let me know what that "penalty" was), but all I see is a "sorry sir, but at least we didn't charge you for your hassle." That's not how you run an organization IMO.

      They problem I have is I came upon some unexpected tolls. Yes, my fault. The part that seems not right is the $15 "administrative fee" for each toll I hit. My toll fee was $20 but with each "administrative fee" Fox has my bill up to $96. Make sure you prepare in advance for tolls!!

      I paid for my rental in full when I made the reservation. The car had a full tank of gas when I picked it up and I made sure it was full when I returned it. From the start, the rep was very adamant that I don't fill the tank back up because they would fill it up cheaper at $3.37 a gallon ( he spoke very quickly and never even looked at me so I couldn't even tell everything else he was saying). However, gas everywhere throughout the week was as low as $2.87-$3.15 a gallon. Naturally, I decided to fill it up myself and forgo the "cheapest price in town" that the Fox rep was pushing on me. There was damage to the car when I picked it up and it was noted. No additional damage to the car when I returned it. However, a few days after I returned the car, I was charged an additional $303. I've been trying to reach the customer service but conveniently enough, I can't get through to them. I will keep trying as I can't afford this second charge and shouldn't be charged this anyway. I will never use Fox again and will warn anyone I possibly can against using them. Just pay the little extra to go to a reputable company!

      This business is run by crooks. The price we were quoted was around $400 for 5 days. Upon arrival, they began upselling, saying that there were numerous toll roads nearby and that for $ 11 a day you could bypass ****** and that the tolls would charge you $ 30 per toll. This was an outright lie, as although we saw toll roads, we never had to go through any, and most were closed. Second, we upgraded to a 4 wheel drive, as we were going into the mountains, and we were told that without this, cops could ticket us. The woman at the counter said all this with a blank stare as if used to simply gouging customers. After 2 days we returned the car when passing **** through ****** to seek a cheaper rental. I was diplomatic, saying I was willing to work with their company, and could they get us a cheaper vehicle, as we didn't need the 4 wheel drive any longer. *** refused to help, charging us $ 20 per day for a "storage fee" per day early we returned the car (4 daysx$20 =$80), even though they could turn around and rent out the vehicle that day or the next. The "manager" claimed they were all out of vehicles, though the lot was full. The manager was no help, staring at a computer for half an hour, and doing nothing. When I mentioned my utter dissatisfaction and my desire to file a claim with the BBB, he shrugged and said "go ahead, we're not a business." Whatever that meant. I was charged $ 500 for 2 days' use of a car, and I went to Budget nearby and paid a far lower rate, without the utter disregard. I would warn anyone to read these reviews before dealing with Fox Rent a Car, as 1) they do not care about their customers, and will squeeze as much money out of you as possible. 2) They will not work with you, and see you as a way to upsell and make as much money off you as possible. Being unfamiliar with the ***** area we were vulnerable to their misinformation about tolls, the need for an upgraded 4 wheel drive, and numerous other ways they can nickel and dime you. Shameful.

      Just rented a car for 6/4/23-6/5/23 with a pay now price of $81.82. After I clicked to pay it said they would require a $500 security deposit. I assumed that would be the hold placed on my card when I picked ** the car in June of 2023. NO! It was charged that minute plus the $81.82 plus $1.00 (don't know what the $1 is for??) So I have been charged today $583.82 for a ********** price of $81.82. At that rate I can't afford to use my credit card for many future purchases if they all CHARGE 7 TIMES THE **** QUOTED EVERYTIME I MAKE A RESERVATION!!! CALLED IN AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CANCEL THE RESERVATION -GREAT BUSINESS PLAN YOU HAVE THERE. I'M NOT SURE IF THEY ARE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS AND TRYING TO CHARGE AS MUCH AS THEY CAN AND HOLD YOUR MONEY UNTIL THE BANKRUPTCY IS DECLARED??

      I reserved a car at home in San **** for $174 for 3 days. I picked up the car in ****************. They change price to $349, at that time I did not have much choice. I think they tricked us.

      Rented a month in advance through Priceline. When I went to pick up my car they wanted to charge me an extra ******! Every excuse in the book. Telling price line that it was a deposit for locals. I am from ******** and was renting in *********. Wish I would have read the reviews before the nightmare!! Thankfully the lady behind the counter was nice enough to send me to another company.
