1 star1st, they advertised TurboTax free,2nd, then when you go on filing the tax, at the end, just before you submit after all is done, they show you a charge of $129 3rd, when called customer service, they said you used a certain form and that's not free, thus the charge 4th, OK, since everything is done and you don't want to go use a different app, you pay for the charge and click submit 5th, now they ask you how you want to have your return paid, you choose your own bank account, and they charge you another $40, claiming that's the process fee 6th, finally when you see the return in your bank account, you found they actually charged you $13 more! And their product TurboTax is actually buggy in a few places.Review fromSonnia P

1 starThey are trying to to debit my account for $227, for their fees. Yet they messed up my tax return not once but twice! On their website it states as youre filing/amending they transfer information from federal to state. I worked and reported my income on federal but they did not report it to state. I was denied twice that my state taxes were incorrect saying there was no income reported when TurboTax TRANSFERS YOUR INFORMATION OVER TO STATE when filing. When I called TurboTax for someone telling the rep the issue, he was mind boggled as well, agreeing it doesnt make sense. When we were on the phone trying to amend through TurboTax website there was no option to report income. The rep ***** know what to do or how to help or sees how the issue occurred. Nor did it. Requested a refund for what theyre charging me numerous of times and was denied. I will be paying out of pocket for them being unable to fix THEIR PROBLEM along with paying another business to fix what TurboTax wont and unable to train their employees to do so. Theyre taking $127 for their service and $49 x2 for amended return they were still denied. I unfortunately dont have the pictures of the amended amount but it is $49 each amend. They did reach out to me, but we never came to a resolution. I will never use them again. Also if you check out Reddit. There a tons of reviews are people going to through similar situations as mine along with then TurboTax reps not knowing how to help. Ridiculous. On top of TurboTax reps not knowing how to amend taxes, I had to pay $600 to H&R Block to help. So crazy. Dont recommend AT ALL. Thats what I am going through, and my opinion on my situation. I will never go back to them again. Oh and I never got a refund. They dont do refunds apparently so if they try to talking to you about you requesting a refund youre wasting your time.Review fromWen C

1 starTurbotax has been my go to tax application for a long time, but that is changing starting next year.I opted in for Turbotax Live Export support. The so called export was unable to answer any one of my five questions. Not only that the export did not help, she directly me to repeatedly click on the same options again and again, for 45 minutes until I said stop. You can not possibly keep trying the same thing and export a different outcome.I normally spent maybe and hour or two on the tax myself. This year, it took 4-5 hours. The software is bugged and misleading. There were instructions not matching the software behavior, this is another reason why the so-called export did not know what to do either.During the filing process, Turbotax provided two or three payment options along with its benefits. Great, so I picked a credit card. What I did not present clearly or warning of a large fee. I was charged close to $500.Of course, I was not happy, so I requested a refund. With their "TurboTax Satisfaction Guaranteed Refund Policy", they rejected the request.Review fromleigh p

2 starsI am very disappointed with TurboTax. I filed my taxes February 8th and I still have not heard from the **** I cant tell you how many stories Ive heard with each person I have called and spoken with at TurboTax. I explained each time I had not gotten my tax refund and I needed it because I broke my foot and cant work. I was hung up on, I was told I couldnt get my refund until I paid your fees, I was asked what my problem was. In all my years I have never had anyone ask me that?! Very unprofessional. After calling about your fees and telling you I didnt have the money to pay your fees and suggesting a deferment after talking to multiple employees, the amount of $277 was withdrawn from my account. I am in a hardship situation and now its worse because of the lack of knowledge from your company. The bank paid you your money but its caused me 3 *** fees and other bills to not be paid. Your company said you would cover the *** fees and then the next day you said you wouldnt. You offered to refund 1/2 of your fees. This is not acceptable because of all the misinformation Ive been given and the run around. I am requesting the full $277 plus all the *** fees acquired as I was told by one of your employees. Thank youReview fromKimberly M

1 starQuickBooks Online Pro Advisor Accountant Program QuickBooks Online is becoming more and more unfriendly to use and the only thing to offer a client so they don't opt out of using QuickBooks is Pro Advisor discount program, however, Intuit has removed option to offer discount to a client when they are transferred to your account. Sometimes clients have to switch firms or don't know what they are doing and set up a QuickBooks for the first year of their business on their own. QuickBooks pushes the Pro Advisor Program which puts the burden and liability on the firm to collect subscriptions, doesn't offer any free trial so if client doesn't like after only a few days, I have to eat the pro rated cost. Not offering a discount for QuickBooks is pushing my clients to ask me to look into something else I can use. One client said just find me something not so complicated and expensive that does "Money In, Money Out". Main reason is because they know that QuickBooks is offering these discounts but they don't qualify for them. *Also as a side note, when the client uses the bank feed, QuickBooks insists on creating auto generated information that is usually wrong, so transactions are being logged into the wrong place. As a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, I understand this, but a client does not and gets aggravated that this exists and they can't keep their own books when they want and just have bookkeeping when needed. Bank rules are also one of the biggest issues as they do not work correctly even when I as an expert set up.Review fromNancy P

1 starIf I had the choice, I wouldnt leave even one starHaving always been previously very satisfied with Turbo Tax services, I am extremely unhappy, frustrated and confused this year. I understand that I owe, and I am able to make an initial payment but want a payment plan for the balance. The app set me up with payment coupons which FAR exceed the amount I owe and I was unable to get the help I need to correct the issue. I requested my $89 back for TurboTaxs services and was refused a refund. They wrote: TurboTax Online is designed not to charge the customer until after they choose to file, so it is not covered under the Satisfaction Guarantee. I was not even unaware that my return had been filed!Review fromAl H

1 starTurboTax, CreditKarma, and all Intuit products have become absolutely horrendous. They have terrible customer service, outrageous fees for "free" services and they can't articulate WHERE information is housed within their platform. I'm shocked they maintain any complianceReview fromHarry S

1 starContrary to federal rulings, other governmental bodies, customer complaints, etc., the company continues to use deceptive practices to sell its TurboTax products. As reported by many, many others, they start you out for free, then continue to offer services you dont need. You keep declining their offers until finally youre tricked into clicking on something that is more expensive than you thought you would pay for. Their pricing if very confusing while clicking through the various obstacles they have you go through. I attempted to get a refund and they declined. It appears their experts are not qualified to offer advice, or simply do not exist.Review fromRobert K

1 starI have used TurboTax for several years and never had a problem until now. This year I was working on my taxes and found I had entered some wrong numbers. I tried to clear and start over but the site would not let me. I spent several hours on the phone to no avail. Turbo required me to pay to move forward which I paid them $228.00 on January 23, 2024. I never filed my taxes and they will not return my money. I had to go elsewhere to file my taxes or I would have late.Review fromK L J

1 starI will never use this company again to file another tax return. The fact that they steal money from people is inhumane. Anyone has a right to change their mind about using this service and to tell people they cant get a refund when paying the fee online is so wrong and disgusting. My problem is bigger than TurboTax and when I realized I need to contact the *** they refuse to refund me my money. So they have free money because I didnt file, sign or go through the full process of filing a tax return with them. Yall are wrong and I hope this company go out of business sooner than later. They have a free $221 dollars that could have went to the *** due to me owing. I owe both State and federal who have money to just give away when I have children and bills to provide for. I have a right to change my mind for any services and to act like yall doing the work when Im the one putting my information in. A fee should not be charged until a customer is finished filing taxes. They make you pay a fee before you are done and refuse to give your money back. In my case its no reason to use the company I need to go directly to *** to set a payment plan. I am out of $221 dollars and I did not file with them. Its wrong. Then I spoke to representatives and was given a code so the charge can be refunded and removed, followed instructions given and nothing worked. I have emails and messages where the staff said I wont be charged and they took my money anyway. Tried to file a dispute with my bank with proof that I wouldnt be charged they sided with TurboTax. Im living pay check to paycheck and dealing with housing issues and you think I have money to give away on top of owing. A family member who is more knowledgeable told me to go to tax people in person and contact *** directly and not go through TurboTax because of the seriousness of my situation. They should not charge a fee until services have been fully completed and signatures are received and taxes have been processed
