  SCAM like tactics in 2025! Ive been a loyal TurboTax user for over 10 years, but this year I switched to H&R Block after an incredibly frustrating experience that felt misleading at best, and borderline predatory at worst.When I started a new return, the system automatically placed me in the Premium version, which I did not need, and I could not find a way to downgrade or switch back to a lower-cost version.I contacted TurboTax support and was told by an ***** that I wouldnt be charged for unnecessary upgrades.After spending two hours completing my return, the final screen confirmed I was locked into Premium with no way to switchdespite what I had been told.I contacted support again and was informed the first ***** was wrong, and that the only fix was to start over completely. They refused to offer a refund or even a discount for my time and the misinformation providedbecause, I was told, its not their policy.This is not how an honest, consumer-trusted business should operate. I am tech-savvy and still couldnt find a clear way to avoid this trapand I only noticed the issue because I was paying close attention. Many others are likely being overcharged without realizing it.Ultimately, I switched to H&R Block, which not only saved me money butafter a small learning curvehelped me file the same federal return and an even better state return.TurboTaxs current model feels designed to steer people into higher-cost versions unnecessarily. I am deeply disappointed, and I believe the BBB should be aware of these practices.

  They cheat. I was billed $120.00 in November then had to pay an exta $278.00.They have no way to dispute their charge.I will use ***** block next year

  Free tax return cost $130. If you have a question you will be sent to a remote worker that was just hired and knows nothing. They will either read your screen to you or say just mail it. DO NOT USE!

  I have used Turbo tax for years. This year they charged us $265 after we spent almost 4 hours doing all the work. Nice of them to charge us so much for all the work they didn't do. I will use H and R block next year.

  Intuit Turbo Tax Deluxe is a scam. They charge you $55 to purchase their product which takes forever to complete. When file your Federal tax return they charge an ADDITIONAL $69 to file. When you file your State tax return they charge an ADDITIONAL $59 to file. So when all said and done you pay $183 for a product they CLAIM you can complete your tax returns with just by purchasing their product. Turbo does NOT mention ADDITIONAL fees until you go to file your tax returns. 100% fraudulent.

  Stay away if you can help it. I was supposed to get my refund on Jan 28.. it's the end of March. But because I got roped into the 5 days early they sent my money to a third party called **************** who has effectively stolen my refund. TurboTax and Intuit do nothing. They just say to call the *** or the bank to have them release it however the bank never answers the phone. And Intuit will not take accountability. The fact they are allowed to just just lose people's money is disgusting. They should be shut down for Grand Larceny or something because they have already done this to tons of others and it's unacceptable!! I'm definitely going to ********* next year or something because I am never coming back to Intuit. They have a disgusting business practice and are no better than overseas scammers.

  TurboTax at its best offers a useful platform for filling out and filing taxes. However, the platform uses deceptive pricing at multiple stages of the process. Several times when filling out tax information, a splash screen popped up prompting me to upgrade. However, it was not always clear where I could click to decline the upgrade prompt. In the end, I was *inadvertently* upgraded, without my intentional knowledge or consent. I will now no longer use TurboTax, since there are plenty of alternatives, and I will recommend the same to my friends and acquaintances. Using DECEPTIVE practices to TRICK users into making unintended purchases and unwanted upgrades is absolutely unacceptable, not to mention immoral! This is an orientation of profit above people and it needs to be stopped.

  I was told that my tax return was included in with the money I paid. I was not supposed to be charged. I did the free version and because I clicked at the bottom to get help for one simple question they charged me a fee of 300 and something dollars looks like ************************************************ for live advice. Therefore I did not think I needed to pay for my taxes that they were paid for and now the *** has come after me for tax money owed.
