I purchased the air purifiers through Air Soap on Amazon and when they became encased with a black substance to include my wall I contacted Amazon Corporate who directed me to contact the seller in which I did too no avail? Air purifiers are supposed to help with purifying the air not contaminating it, it is NOT normal. Its ludicrous for this company to say that it is, I saw it written in a response to a complaint!Business Response

It is not that we don't stand behind our product, we can't refund you from our in house system as it does not contain any of your payment info. Your payment and payment info is in the Amazon system. The email from Hydronova did not state they were contacting Amazon. I was asked for a screenshot of my receipt only, I screenshot several photos and of where and when I made the purchase and for how much. ***** in customer service stopped corresponding with me? So, the ionizers are reported to last 1-2 years, but are recommended to be replaced every 3-6 months? How does that make sense, except in making money for the company? Same with the 30-day warranty, but you sell an extended 2 year warranty? Why would you even sell this when you recommend to replace them that often? lol. Another American business venture that proclaims to be for the customer, but indeed is about making profit. One time, I really wish that a company with a great idea for helping people out would stick to that. I understand that you have to gain capital to produce the product, and run your company. You know that many of these units arent lasting long for people. You state in your ads that they last years, but then you find out that they should be replaced in months. Double talk. Let people know about the black soot in your adswhy would you want that to be some surprise that they worry is something wrong? Get your customer service together. People shouldnt have to spend hours of their time fighting to get in touch with you, or receive an appropriate refund.Business Response

Bought product 2/17/24. Received 3/1/24. Contacted their customer service via email 3/9/24 to say that I was not seeing notable results and requested information on how to return for my full 30 day refund of $285.36. Instead I got an email offering me to get a 30% refund and keep the product! Then they asked me to tell them the batch # on the box and the name of the product despite having my order # and acknowledging that I was within 30 days with the verbiage: After obtaining this information, we will make a determination of what needs to be returned and/or discarded. We await your response.At this point I have asked *********** to look into for me as I think this company is NOT reputable. Typically a 30 day return policy does not involve the customer identifying the product if they have an order # and then wait for them to determine what I should do with it. This is a basic request for a full refund no questions asked and I should not have to wait for their determination on whether I should mail back or trash.Business Response

I purchased a 6 pack from Claifion and they all caused a black residue around all the 5 plugs and on random plastic items around the house like the toliet seat and plastic container in the kitchen cabinet with in 1 month and after having them unplugged for 2 months, the black residue randomly comes up in same odd places still. These are awful!!!!! What can be done to fix? How can a company sell something that does this to people's homes.Business Response

"Ionisers (also sometimes known as Ionizers) or negative ion generators, work by creating a static charge around the airborne contaminants that are floating around your room. Once charged with static, these particles (dust, allergens, pet dander etc,) simply stick to the nearest surface they find. Your air feels fresh because the contaminants are no longer floating around in mid air, but the fact is those contaminants are now firmly stuck to many of the surfaces of the room such as the walls, furniture, carpets and table tops. This is why you often see a ring of black around the base of an ionizer when it has been moved."
The best way to remove this "black soot" is to clean the area with a sponge and warm soap water. You can also use cleaning solutions made from vinegar, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide.Customer Answer

You can ****** air ionizers to better understand that black soot from ionizers is normal and not a safety risk. Our products are also EPA approved. Special note: we offer a 30 day satisfaction guarantee and 2 year extended warrany. You are outside of your 30 day warranty and our records show that you did not purchase the extended warranty. I did not start ********* services on 23 Oct 2023, as stated in your survey text. I first contacted the Company on Christmas day, Dec 25, 2023, as a present for my wife.I was not satisfied with the cleaning and didnt even allow me 24hours to which to fully inspect the cleaning before charging my account and then try to extort additional funds to immediately cancel the contract. Even buying a $50,000 auto, I was given 3 days to determine if Im satisfied with the product or service! I will be contacting my lawyer, FTC, and the BBB today with the intent not only to immediately cancel my contract and return payment taken yesterday before having a chance to determine 1, if I thought the service rendered was worth a full time contract beyond the first cleaning, and 2, was I provided the necessary time to fully inspect and determine if I wanted any further services from a Company that didnt provide what was advertised in the first place, and then attempt to extort additional funds beyond what was provided to cancel the contract. No, Im not going to pay you over $90.00 to forget a contract I had no time to inspect and review for continued services.If you need pictures of the unsatisfactory service feel free to let me know how they can be provided! I purchased 9 Clarifion air purifiers. I tried them in my ** and ** homes. I contacted them during the 30 day trial period and said they didnt work and I wanted to return them.I was given an RMA number and told to put it on the outside of the package. I was also told to include the numbers on the units I was returning which I did. I sent them a picture of the receipt from the ************ I did all of those things They received them on **** 23.When I didnt see any refunds pending I called them. They said that the warehouse said I only returned 6. I packaged them in the same mailer they came in. 6 were in one plastic container and 3 in another and they were taped together in the same mailer I received them in.I keep checking on this and they give me the same answer. The warehouse only received 6. I asked if it was possible that the 3 fell off and they only had the 6. I also asked them to weigh 9 of them with the original mailer and they refuse to do this. They tell me to check with my courier. If the post office removed 3 of them it would be very obvious as the mailer would be damaged when they received it. They refuse to acknowledge that their warehouse made a mistake.I am very frustrated as I have spent WAY too much time on this and have gotten no where.I would urge people not to do business with this company as they are not very reputable and I have seen no refund for even the 6 they say they received. An air purifier typically uses a fan to pull in air and run it through a filter. This can be effective but often requires costly filter replacements or cleaning. Ionizers can be used as an alternative or addition to air purifiers, but they work differently.
Unfortunately, we have no record of you contacting us regarding any issues within your 30 day warranty; therefore, we cannot issue a refund for your order.
