My mother accidentally signed up with their service after receiving a letter about her service expiring and she thinking it was for another service that she has. I have a power of attorney and have been managing my mothers accounts for some time. When I called to cancel, they first would not speak to me until I sent them a copy of the **** then they told me that they would let us review it before cancelling. I told them we did not want to review, but want to cancel. Then they started the sales pitch about how great their service is. I told them I do not care, my mother is on a fixed income and cannot afford it. They then told me it would be canceled in 48 hours. 48 hours later it was still not canceled. I spoke to them again and they gave excuses, tried the high pressure sales pitch again, then when I kept insisting they cancel it, they told me it would take 3-4 business days. When ever I call, you speak to an AI, when someone calls back, they will call and hang up, then call again and hang up, then call again and leave a message that this is the 3rd time they have called.I want my mothers policy canceled and her money refunded. I cannot believe they trick older people this way and then make it so difficult to make it right.Home Warranty Services

1 starI'm having the same experience as ******** *. and *** *. My 90-year-old dad somehow was talked into this Home Warranty thinking it was a one-time charge. However, it seems his credit card has been charged monthly fees of $231.66 for a while now. When I called the number connected with the charge, it's the billing service (WALCO) for Home Warranty Services. When I call Home Warranty Services, an automated voice answers and takes the same message every time. They promise to call my dad within 30 minutes. If they call, they never leave a message. You can never talk to a live person. We just want to CANCEL this! This whole process seems predatory! If we are unable to cancel immediately, I plan to contact our attorney general's office next week and report this as fraud committed against a senior. I consider myself blessed that **** was the customer care representative on the other end of the phone when I call to place a claim with Home Warranty Services. At 83 years of age ( I don't sound like it)I've often experienced being talked down to during attempts to communicate my desires via the phone. Not only was Ruby extremely patient, she was also knowledgeable about the procedure and she made sure that I had all my questions answered before we ended the call! By the time the transaction was completed I knew that I had made a new friend. I can only hope this company has more customer service agents like Ruby!Home Warranty Services
