    **************** is poor, agents are not knowledgeable of company policies. Their salespeople use scare tactics to try to sale you their products "If you don't buy today, you won't be able to buy in the future because of the age of your home and no other company will sell to you either". I was told that there is no risk because I could cancel anytime within the first 30 days and get a full refund, no questions asked. Well I called a week later to cancel and was told I could not cancel because I had not read their contract book that I had not received in the mail yet. So, I had to wait, the booklet showed up about 5 day later. I called again and cancel the contract which was 3 days before the first payment was due. Well they still took the first payment, I call them to enquire them refunding that payment, I was told **************** could not refund the payment, I had to contact the company who service the contract. I contacted that company and they said the refund authorization had to come from Home Warranty Services. I have contacted them three times in the last seven days, I got them the first time I called but got cut off when I started to explain the issue, they never called back. The next two times that I called, I left messages and no one returned my call. I purchased this contract on 1/16/2024 and it 2/21/2024 and I am not sure if the contract is even cancel and I am not going to be charged again on the first of march.

    Did not like service because there was no service Provided when I needed them to fix the problem that I had at my home. They told me I can go to menards are ****** get the items that I needed to fix the problem. Never came out to see what was wrong. And I asked them to send me a statement each month instead of taking the money out of my credit card which they took money out every month of $225. Now my credit card is maxed out. Wanted to cancel but had to pay to cancel policies sham on them. Do not do business with this company

Customer statement for claim: floor is damp around the base of the toilet. customer thinks the ring around the bottom of the toilet is loose.     ZERO STARS - SAME STORY AS MANY OTHERS HERE, THREATENING LETTER, MY 85 YR OLD MOTHER WITH DEMENTIA FELL PREY AND CALLED, THEY LIED ABOUT "RENEWAL" SCARED HER AND THEY DEBITED $495, WE GOT THE POLICY WITH OVER $5K OWED FOR 3 YR POLICY. I HAVE LITERALLY CALLED ALMOST 20X, WAIT FOR CALL BACK, CALL AGAIN, ANYONE CALLS BACK, CAN'T DO IT, LEAVE ANOTHER MESSAGE FOR DIFFERENT ***** FINALLY HAVE MOM HERE TO TALK TO THEM ON HER CELL WITH ME HERE, I'VE CALLED 3X AGAIN TODAY, FINALLY THEY JUST CALLED BACK, RIDICULED ME WHEN I SAID MOM COME HERE SAYING I WOULDN'T TAKE THE ***** TO HER... SHE WAS STANDING 5 FT AWAY, AGAIN, 85 WITH DEMENTIA. HIGH PRESSURING HER NOT TO CANCEL USING HER SCRIPT, WOULDN'T JUST TAKE "I DON'T WANT/NEED IT" AS A REASON TO CANCEL. DEMANDING SHE GIVE A BETTER REASON WHICH IS RIDICULOUS AS HER REASONS ARE PERSONAL AND NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS OVER "DON'T WANT/NEED". MOM DEMANDED THE $495 DOWN PAYMENT IMMEDIATELY REFUNDED PER THE CONTRACT AND THAT NO FURTHER DEBITS ARE AUTHORIZED AND TO COMPLETELY CANCEL THE POLICY IMMEDIATELY BACK TO THE INCEPTION DATE. "*****" AGREED. WE WILL SEE IF THEY COMPLY. UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS PRACTICES, PREDATORY SENIOR TACTICS, FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES.     This is probably the worst home warranty company. Do not sign up because it is very difficult to cancel. And they continue to try and . collect money that is not owed.

    This company is a SCAM. I has received tly bought a home and Home Warranty Services sent me a letter in the mail stating that I needed to contact them cos the Warranty I had had expired. I called them and signed up after the lady I spoke to had told me everything they covered in the home. I started paying $276.94 in August *************************************************** November 2023 during that sudden cold period my heat would was not working, so filed a claim with Home Warranty Services only to be told that they wouldn't fix it because of its location. I wasn't informed these conditions when I signed up. I had to engage the services of a heating company. I was very traumatized by the incident because I have a family member in my home who is fragile medically. After this,I called Home Warranty Services to cancel their service and was told by the female staff I spoke to that she would cancel my contract immediately. A few days later I started receiving phone call from several of their staff members who are very rude and argumentative, and unprofessional. Telling me to make my payments, and threatening ruin my credit if i failed to comply. One of their female staff told me that I sounded like a broken record after I assured her that the account has been closed. I told her that another staff member had assured me that it wad closed and that I should disregard the text messages that I was receiving. She told me the text messages were generated automatically. To say that I have been harassed and bullied by the members of Home Warranty Srevices is an understatement. The female staff who told me they have canceled the services for my home said they will send me the paperwork for the cancelation in the mail, I haven't received any mail to that effect till date. Even the ** card that they ere supposed to mail me when i signed up i never got it. This was since November 2023. I have a log of the text messages and phone calls that I received from Home Warranty Services.

    I became executor of my brother's estate in August of 2023. Going through his mail, I discovered a letter from Home Warranty Services that his warranty may be expiring or may have already expired on his home. Not knowing if he had coverage or not, I called the phone number provided to verify. I was led to believe that he had coverage, but the coverage expired, but I could keep it enforce by paying a $100 installment fee by credit card and continue to pay the $231.67 monthly premium. Knowing that this was something that my brother would have done, I accepted that they were telling the truth and authorized the debit from my card. After thing about the comments made, I called the next day to get further information and received high pressure from an agent. I asked to talk to the manager who refunded my $100 back to my card after high sales pressure and my strong resistance toward continued coverage. However, the next month the company deducted $231. 67 from my card, which was to be cancelled. Again high pressure from the agent that I should continue coverage. I still have not ********** back. They said that they could not credit my card back and had issued a check to me. After several phone calls in regard to this matter over the pass month, I still have not received my money back. They say that the check is in the mail. Some of the employees are very unethical and high pressure. Yes, I got scammed and ashamed I fell for it. I would not recommend this company.

    My mother-in-law received a predatory "your home warranty has expired" letter. (She never had a warranty in the first place.) She has demential and is cognitively impaired. She fell for their predatory sales tactics.The bank flagged the amount as fraud. I spent the better part of a day trying to send this company a copy of the PoA to cancel. The email address bounced back. I copied/pasted from their site - it bounced back again. They were supposed to email me so I could respond - no email came. We are trying to officially cancel through them so that my MIL does not receive any harassing phone calls or letters.I have all of our communications recorded, so if any harassment occurs, we will take whatever legal steps necessary.If you have older/impaired loved ones, do whatever it takes to prevent their letters from getting into your loved one's hands.If anyone from the company sees this, cancel HWSH500154 immediately.

    Service warranty sent a threatening letter that my mortgage canceled my services for fixings items in the home. Then he continued to lie about what they canceled. He said this was separate from my mortgage so he contradicted himself. I started asking questions. He got very nasty with me and said you will have to fix everything yourself. I have already cause I did not sign anything with the mortgage company about this warranty. I would fix it. For example if my fridge broke I would replace it. But my home owners insurance would cover the cost of the food spoiled. He wanted money up front to get it started well my lawyer said never paid for a service up front. I told him that. Then I told him I was calling my mortgage company to verify. Surprise this company is a fraud. 43 complaints. There services stink. The BBB they are not accredited with them and many other complains. Not even the correct address for them. I called them back and told them what my mortgage company said. He got very nasty said they lied and we are not frauding anyone and hung up. Please people check before signing anything cause these companies are fraud in you. They do not cover part and some appliances. Stay away. They are targeting the seniors. This happened to my Mom awhile ago. Report to BBB and the police. So they will let the public know.

    This is a SCAM. They told me it was whole house warranty, but when you go to file a claim, almost NOTHING is covered. They get down to screws and clamps that are covered and that's about it. Then when I try to cancel my two policies, I get the run around and no responses from my emails that I sent. This is for contract HAS10522488H and HAS10522487H Kindly refund my money and be more upfront about what you cover and DON'T cover!Thank you greatly!-*****************************

    This company preys on people's fears with scary mailers. Typically, elderly people react. They did this to my mother who is 87 and has dementia. I found that they have charged our joint account 371/month for 9 months. They use a third party, MEPCO, so that is all that shows up for contact information. I called that number and they transferred to HWSUSA. I called three times and was told I would be called back. The first time, I missed the call but have a voicemail. The second time, I did not get a callback. Today, I got a callback and they refused to cancel the policy because I called from my cell - which they happily called me on - and not the home number (I am traveling for two weeks). First, they offered one month free so I could look at the policy and review it. I said I just wanted it canceled. Then they said I had to call from the house number to cancel. Then they said I did not call them three times and that they did not call me back the first time. Turns out the same woman who was telling me I did not call is the same woman on the voicemail (I have the ** with the same woman's voice on it with a time stamp etc.) I offered to email the ** to her. I offered to send her my ******* call logs from *******. Not surprisingly she just accused me of lying and she refused. It was a very heated discussion. In any case, they prey on older people and make them think that they must have this policy or else. DO NOT USE THEM. I have sent my niece over to cancel the contract with my mother on the line with her. I have no doubt that they will not do this and they will continue to charge her without shame until I close the account. However, I am a fair person. If it is canceled and they stop contacting the house number which I keep solely for my mother to get calls from friends/family, I will happily update this review with a positive note. ANY company that sells something and makes it hard to cancel is not a reputable firm. They are NOT reputable.

    My niece called with my mother. They said because of the BBB comment, they have canceled. As you can see from the comments, they said it was canceled and that we would not be charged further. My plan was once the date passed and the charge was NOT made, I would update my comment to say it was resolved. Instead, my mother was charged another 371 on the monthly date. My niece called again and ***** (would not give last name nor put a manager on the phone) said the cancelation was never recorded and suggested it was because my niece was not so pleasant. This is the kind of company this is. They make it difficult to cancel. When you want to cancel, they are rude and difficult. Today "*****" said it was canceled but I have no trust that come July 25th, they will charge again. I will file a complaint at state and federal level. I expect my mother to be refunded the money they took from her on Sunday as it was an unauthorized transaction.
