On July 3, 2024, I went to Western Dental in extreme pain due to a tooth. I was not treated, just given x-rays. Then I was pressured to accept a totally unnecessary service (gum trays) that were neither necessary nor covered by insurance. This was not made clear to me. Once I realized that this service was not necessary or covered by my insurance, I asked to cancel the service and the office refused. When I complained to the Western Dental corporate office, they said that any refund was up to the discretion of the local office and they have no oversight over their local offices. I felt that I had no other recourse but to file this complaint.Initial Complaint

I made a payment for $3600 plus to have my top and lower dentures complete at Royal Dental this has been going on since 2014. They kept changing Doctors and I had to be fitted over and over again each time. I was trying to leave several time but was told no refunds and they promise to get the job done. Time passed kept pulling other teeth and fitting all over again, several time came in for appointments no doctor, reschedule same thing over and over again. Made several calls never could get anyone finally stopped by was told they're no longer in business Brident Dental took over and was told by them I would have to pay all over again to get my dentures. I was like I don't have that kind of money to just give away so then I was told they would do an investigation and get back with me weeks passed again didn't hear anything, so I decided to stop by yesterday ask for a manager she told me I will send to my new insurance and see if they will pay for it. I asked why is that what happen with the investigation she said the other manger is no longer here so I asked to get a copy of my files oh they probably shredded them nothing is on files anymore everything has been taken out of the system. I said they were there before why would you all do that when you was supposed to be letting me know what had happen with my dentures. Next the owner died two weeks ago one thing after next and I recognized the new manager she was there when all this was going on asked me to stay so I told her you were here when I was coming she said no it was in 2002. I don't forget faces especially if you done me wrong. I need my dentures and refuse to pay more money and I don't think that's right for them to charge my new insurance when ********** Blue Shield plus had to make a payment plan with Care Credit. Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.Initial Complaint

On August 22nd 2024 I went to western dental in ************* to get a consultation for braces . as I arrived the office is busy meaning a hour or more to be seen . so as I get into the process of whats next I talked to a guy from there office and he just explained to me what price I would pay for the full amount witch was 5000 and 187 monthly and 300 down payment. this was my first time getting braces so I never knew how this was supposed to go. I never got a full consultation meaning he never explained prices to me of anything what they were putting on my teeth etc all I was told was the price .so a month later September 15 a bracket broke so I wasnt sure what do to because that was never explained so I read that the braces they put on me witch was a gold wire they were charging me extra for witch I was never knew so I immediately called western dental and explained that I was never told any of this and basically they just put anything on my teeth without consulting with me because I would of never put myself in this if I couldnt pay and the lady asked did he go through this and show you the options of the braces and I told her no and from then on it has just been a issue . the constant money hungry and telling me it isnt their fault even if he didnt explained to me I signed my name so they want their money . so again I let them know my bracket broke so the lady told the dentist to cut the wire because it was cutting my mouth , and the dentist BROKE THE WHOLE BRACE OFF MY TOOTH AND SAID SHE WILL FIX IT LATER . I HAVE CAVITIES in my teeth and they still put these braces on and havent showed me any type of understanding or empathy I came to get my teeth fixed I didn't want it to be all these problems I am a single mom not currently working and they are asking a 200 dollar fee to remove the braces and **************************************************************************************** this areaInitial Complaint

On Friday 6/14/2024, I signed up for Gumx treatment without being properly explained why I needed the treatment. Upon reviewing the product, I realized I do not need it and wanted to cancel it. I cancelled the next day on 6/15/2024. The dental office assured me that they would cancel the product. After several debt collection calls later and visits to the dental office, the manager at the dental office has repeatedly told me that it has been cancelled on their end. However, to this day, I have an outstanding balance on my account, even though I DID NOT RECEIVE THE TREATMENT and CANCELLED IT WITHIN 24hours. Additionally, I am still receiving mail that I have a past due amount. This has been ongoing for 5 months now and I want this balance adjusted to $0.Initial Complaint

I went to brident dental in February 2024. The dentist suggested a crown. It is October 2024 and the crown fell out. I had my spouse contact the dental office, currently I am out of town for work. Prior to that the staff was informed that this tooth would be fixed for a job so it needed to be done right, as I would not be unable to fly back if something went wrong. When the dental office was contacted, the manager told me to get it capped or fixed where I am currently located, meaning i will have to spend more money to fix the tooth correctly for something that should of been properly done in the first place. I am in pain.Initial Complaint

I had work done at the ************* location on ***************** beginning September of 2022, my work concluded approx June 2023. I paid of my bill on February 2024, balances reflected 0. Approximately July 2024 they sent me a bill stating U owed $1518. I started making phone calls, going back and forth to the office to fix this problem. Turns out they are charging me for a service I never had done. They never sent that bill to my insurance either. I have no contract with my signature on it for that work. I told the billing manager and she confirmed I did not have that work done. They filled out a form called a par number to dispute it. About 2 months later I get a bill for the same amount, I called them and they said it was not approved. I told them its your company disputing it also because I never had that work done. I told them I refuse to pay for something that was never done.Initial Complaint

I have been billed in error for dental services in October of 2022. My insurance was never billed for said services. I have called them several times (2-3 times per month) to resolve the issue. They continue to tell me that insurance denied the claim and someone will call me back. I NEVER get a call back. Now they are sending me to collections. The online reviews show this is a common practice with this business.Initial Complaint

On 10/19/2024, I arrived to the Western Dental *************** location @ 10AM for a scheduled 10:30AM wisdom teeth extraction (lower left & right). The appointment was a RESCHEDULE (made on 9/18/2024 & scheduled by a ******** ******- previous Manager). I checked in @ 10:30AM & was asked to fill out consent forms. I was also made aware of certain optional "out of pocket expenses", which I opted out. After finishing paperwork, I waited in the lobby for approx. 15 minutes. Current manager, Foumava **** calls me up to explain that I would, once again, NOT proceed with my pre-scheduled appointment. I explained that someone in their office had called me the following day to confirm & that I had driven approximately 4hrs, (from ******, Ca to ***************, **) as well as fasted for over 12 hours in preparation for my appointment. She explained that despite the travel expenses, time, fasting, etc., that "it didn't matter and that all I could do for myself is reschedule, for the second time, but at a location closer to my home." I tried explaining my last encounter a month before with a pervious manager, ******** ******, and how I was turned away from a far advance scheduled appointment on the initial guise that my insurance had failed to respond to their claim request, then changed their explanation to my insurance flat out denying my procedure requests. ALL claims were proven false; I have letters from my insurance stating the exact opposite of these claims. Also made a point to call my insurance (09/18/2024) to fact check Ms. ******** claims. Manager explains that she had just taken over ******** ******** job & that "she had a lot of mess to clean up because of her", but STILL proceeded to VERY coldly turn me away with little word in edgewise/little explanation. Manager simply kept explaining that "the anesthesiologist was not in today" & that "I need to go to another office." ******** ****** PRESSURED me to extract w/NO meds, Foumava said I wouldn't go on w/out medsInitial Complaint

I took my daughter to Western Dental around the begining of October to apply for a retainer. My daughter's braces were installed at another dental office(Redwood Smiles). (Redwood Smiles) installed her braces in 2019. My daughter had them removed in 2021. She has been wearing a plastic retainer since 2021. She recently broke her plastic retainer. I went to Western Dental at the begining of October ,to get an estimate for the price of a replacement. I used my insurance to be seen by a doctor. I was given a quote of $600.00, which is expensive within, 30 minutes I was given another quote for $850.00. I felt uneasy so I declined the services and I left Western Dental. I was at Western Dental for approximately 35 minutes total. No work was done, just a consultation only. On October 22 I received an invoice in the amount of $850.00. The invoice states that I am currently 20 days past due and if a payment is not made by October 25 then a late fee my be assessed. I was also threaten by having my invoice sent to a third party collection agency. Abosolutely no work was done yet I am being billed. I have great credit an I would not like to see a stain on my credit rating. Thank you
