1 starI am appalled by this organization! They are the only available dental provider for Covered California in this area. Made an appointment two months in advance for what I thought would be a consultation and prophylaxis cleaning/x-rays. Making the appointment took multiple phone calls, being transferred to different people in different states, disconnects, and several hours of my time. Unreal! The day prior to the appointment on May 10, 2023, I called to confirm since they don't do that. At that point they told me it was only a consultation, and they could not tell me which dentist "just whichever one is available at the time." Despite my frustration that I would have to make another appointment for a cleaning and x-ray, I arrived 15 minutes early to my 9:30 am consultation appointment, taking time off work. I waited until 10:45 and they still couldn't see me. I told them i was leaving. At 3 p.m. that day, I received a phone call from their office asking if I was still in the waiting room and if I wanted to be seen then. What the ?! This business should be shut down. I don't know how they're still operating - just unbelievably AWFUL!!! Worst ever!!!! I'll just pay out of pocket in the future. Zero starts if I could. FFFFFFF!!!! Failure!Review fromJessica V

1 starHad dental work done on 1/23/2020 my claim was never submitted properly for wisdom teeth extractions leaving me fully liable for a bill that was sent to collections and which it accrued interest that they are still charging me since 2020. It has now effected my credit score and every time I call the ******* ,** office they give me the run around and tell me to call the collection **** which is who has my billing statement. The manager is completely incompetent and does not know what she is doing. She told me they file the claims electronically and my dental insurance does not accept electronic claims. Someone did not do their job and they still have not resubmitted the claim and fixed this issue. Someone please help me. I am thinking of sueing western dental if this is not resolved.Review fromfrankie w

1 starThis company is HORRIBLE! They demanded payment for my sons cleanup. Added service for 5 second hygienist to say brush your teeth. Insurance contacted them today stated they violated state law by demanding payment. Im waiting for refund now they say have to submit to corporate!!! Thats nonsense I paid them but they cant refund my full amount????? Thats first issue, they gave my son a contact for braces he made payments he is disabled I am his guardian he cannot sign legal document. They coerced him. Now they wont talk to me keep calling him to resign for 8 more months. Contact is not complete I asked for treatment plan, itemized summary. Joke never got one. No proof of services itemized services fees, etc, promissory note states 75 dollar membership fee. I questioned what ** thus? Im so sick of their lies!!!!!!! 1 starI came into this Dentist to get the metal bracesThe dentist recommended me the Invisalign, I told him I would prefer the metal ones I didn't think the Invisalign's were convenient for me.He said no you would be better off with the Invisalign therefore in my mind the dentist knows better. I agreed to get the Invisalign. I got the Invisalign in 2020 then covid hit, so appts were pushed back and were open Thurs only. Mind you I made them aware I work in the hospital not only that I work night shift.I always complied on wearing my Invisalign as told to do so. I think I lost 1 set and then forgot another set in another city because I attended a funeral. Though I lost and forgot a set I was always truthful with the dentist and paid to get the extra sets and still complied with wearing them how I was supposed to. The tooth that I was concerned about was not moving at all so the dentist started sawing it, making it thinner so it can be pushed back. He sawed it a few visits and when it was time for my retainer, my teeth looked exactly the same as when I started. Its now ********************** February, I complained, got ignored called their office multiple times to get a call back and see what they can do for me spoke to *** the coordinator she said she would call back and didn't. I called a few more times left a message they will always give me the run around I finally asked for a day off from work and went into their office on 5/25/2023 to speak to someone. The front desk woman said she would contact her manager and reach out to me the same day, she did reach out to me told me that her sup is offering me a discount for braces and that it was my fault on why I didn't get the results I wanted because I missed 4 appts. I work in the hospital when covid hit,common sense on why I would miss 4 appts. So nowt Im here 2023 that is holding my crooked teeth in place . 1 starWestern Dental Kids ******************* have horrible customer service,,particularly in the front desk..They are racist....they prioritiize their clients in their race,,regardless of they scheduled appointment...one of the asian client walked out this morning because she's so ****** off...i experienced the same too...we came in early but unfortunately,we are the last to be served,,,sooo disappointing...if you are people of color,,dont go to western dental kids *******************,,they will not gonna take care of you...they are horrible....Review fromAmelia D

1 starI decided to check the reviews for western dental because they are trying to fraud me.. I had work done there and paid for the services I received as well as them charging my insurance. A whole year later their calling me telling me I owe them $4000! Like all the other reviews when I ask them what for it's crickets! No itemized statement or anything? This place is a scam! They keep threatening me with collections as a way to bully me for money. Someone needs to investigate this place!Review fromRabia A

1 starThey are horrible!!! They value no one's time. They are quick to take your money, but slow to get any work done. Appointments are always rescheduled. I'm not sure how anyone would actually get their braces off in a normal timeframe. The bands are never adjusted when they should be....I think they are on 10 year plan braces. So if you are fine with having your braces for that long, this is the place for you. You also need to be ready to take the whole day off to go to your appointments...make sure to take snacks an entertainment...maybe a pillow for a nap. A 9:00am appointment can very easily become a 2:00pm appointment. Their hygiene is questionable too. Please beware of going here.Review fromAmy S

1 starThis place is terrible. I went into the location at ****************************************************** with a dental emergency and was told they could not assist me for about 2 weeks while they processed paperwork. After looking around, that was fine. This place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in about a month. A layer of dust was on the exam light hanging over the chair, black grease marks on the light stand, there a was a closet half locked and full of trash in the exam room I was brought in. I had NO WORK done and left. I asked before leaving what I owed them and was told absolutely nothing since I didn't have work done. 2 weeks later, I got a rude call from their billing department saying I owed them over $3500 for the treatment plan they created but I did not sign. I talked to no less than 8 people from Western Dental to fix this issue, including a billing supervisor. They assured me it was all taken care of. I have since gotten 2 more phone calls from extremely rude collections people from Western Dental. When I explained the issue, the woman placed me on hold and transferred me with no warning or information. The second woman to answer was annoyed that I couldn't tell her why the other woman transferred me since she did not tell me. Allegedly I still owe them money, but no one can tell me why. All they can do is transfer me to rude people that want me to tell them how to fix their issue. How is this place in business? It is absolutely the most unorganized company with the rudest customer service. They don't care about patients, just about money. That's why they put in treatment plans the second they create them and start the billing process, even if you don't get work done. Please save yourself time, headaches, and potential infections and go somewhere else.Review fromToyia B

1 starOn April 25 th 2023 i walked in for my scheduled appointment at 1:30pm when i was called to the back the assistant let me know that ***** will be back to talk to me about what exactly i want pulled for this appointment. I pointed to tooth number 14 top left back it was hurting and needed to be pulled. Then i pointed to tooth 8 and 9 they was pushed back so i wanted implants for the two teeth that was loss. Doctor then came in and said let's get started. He asked me again which ones, we clarified number 14, 8,9 we started with the front he pulled two then he grabbed a mirror and said i advice you to pull 10 also it will be no charge and your implant will fit better. At this time im numbed up and a little out of it so when he showed me in the mirror that he handed me there was blood everywhere i started to cry he said why are you crying i let him know that looks scary he then says well i'll be back tell me if you want to pull number 10. Then 5 min went by. I told the assistant thumbs up he pulled number 10 I let him know I felt tender on the right top side. He said nothing and asked for an x-ray. We took the x-ray and I returned to my seat . The assistant returned she says your all done we are going to reschedule you for 4/29 to come pick up your temporary plate i said what do you mean she says yes we need to order your temporary plate i then started to cry and i asked so you mean i will have no teeth she said yes no teeth for 3 days didn't the doctor tell you i said no i thought you all do the temporary here on site and no one told me that she said no we send your impression to LA with a service network. I let them know I should wait for my temporary plates to come so I can eat and go to work. I work as a manager with the public and you gave me no choice but to do that . 1 starI made an appointment for a routine Regular Dental Exam at Western Dental ( *******************************************************) and they confirmed that it is covered by my insurance. On April 10 appointment, they took X-rays but did not do dental cleaning. All service provided by Western Dental was taking X-rays.Then I received a $2211.50 bill with no service description.
