Since 2022, our solar panels have been down and weve yet to have a technician come out to resolve the issue. Weve been given the run around and ended up paying over $1,800 to SoCal ****** despite having 24 solar panels, 12 of which are directly from SunPower. We have put in a request for a refund and they did confirm that our panels have not been working. They have said that they cannot issue a refund until a technician comes out to resolve the issue, but that has yet to happen. We are wanting a full refund from our end of year ********************* as well as for payments made for months that our systems have been down.Business Response

I have been having difficulties resolving repairs and getting compensation for extended loss of power generation since late June; on-going into 2023. I wish to have you inquire and go to bat for me to apply pressure with end gaol to fix our solar system and get compensation for lost power; we at this point have outlaid $1600 in Oct 2022 (true-up date - 2021 true-up was $324, 2020 was $178). I also expect a large true-up in Oct 2023 based on $600 ********* bill, Dec $800 power bill, and *** estimated $800 power bill; we will not be able to makeup this lost power generation through the summer. Had a previous complaint made Dece,2,2022 againd ****************, complaint # *******. Also know an SunSystem Techonology. I complaint about some devices on the solar panels not working properly. I purchased the Solar panels, pay a different entity and just found out a third party is the one that repairs anything wrong with them. Have no idea who they are, company made or telephone. A representative of sunpower contacted me about a promotion to payoff the balance of my 0% loan in exchange for a $15,000 rebate which I was told I would receive in the mail within 2-4 weeks of my paying the loan balance. It is nearly 7 weeks since sunpower was paid and I have not been reimbursed. I have contacted sunpower via email and the phone multiple times. I have been told I would receive an email with tracking information for the check that was supposedly issued. I did not. I was told someone would get back to me with an update multiple times. Nobody contacted me aside from one apologetic email claiming the email telling me payment would be issued actually was sent to the sender and not me and including a copy of the original email.Business Response

I signed documents with Sunpower October 20, ************************ my house. ********** has a battery rebate program (****) that I qualify for and Sunpower started the process . The solar panel install date was scheduled for 11/10/22. The panels were installed on the roof, but no conduit runs from the roof to my power panel were installed. Then I was told the system would be completed 11/17 or 11/22. I got a confirmation email for a 11/21 install. Then I get an email from SCE **** saying my rebate application needed more information. I contacted Sunpower and they said they were on it (They did nothing, my application was and still is suspended). 11/21 a great crew of 3 guys, ******************************* installed the 2 batteries and set up the new panel for my backup batteries. They did a great job. But a second crew came and started hacking conduit on the side of the house. I complained about the shoddy work and they left. I have pictures, the work was unacceptable, it blocked a window among other issues. I am still missing the connection from the roof panels to the main panel and a safety pole for the battery in the garage. A crew came back December 8 and did all the electrical work correctly. They called the city inspector and it passed. Great! Now all I need is the safety pole, PTO from SCE and the **** rebate. All I get is crickets from Sunpower. I checked the **** web site and discovered nothing has been done to answer a few simple questions for my application. This **** rebate is a lot of money and is the reason I bought batteries from Sunpower. I have been calling once a week to the sales person and "project manager", neither will take my call. I have only been polite, and reasonable. I email about twice a week and get the "I'll get you an answer next week", and I don't. If they don't complete the job this year I don't get the tax savings this year. And if they s**** up the **** rebate, that will cost me real money.Business Response

On August 20,2022, a high-pressure water distribution main essentially exploded in front of my house. The water main shot a stream on water on my property for approximately ************************************************************ addition to the enormous amount of water that was expelled, asphalt gravel and other debris from the hole in the street landed on *******, lawns (front yard and backyard), driveway, porch, and side yard. This included the solar panels on *******. On August 31, I had the original solar installer inspect my panels and he indicated about 10 to 12 were damaged. (He was unsure exactly how many were damaged because the panels were dirty.) On September 1, I had the solar panels cleaned and the roof cleared of the gravel and rocks. My solar installer then filed a claim on my behalf with SunPower. On September 22, I received an email from SunPower Customer Support stating an on-site inspection was required. After many attempts to get a date for the inspection, SunPower arrived on October 26 and completed their inspection. They indicated *********************************************************** about a month. This report is required by the insurance company for my claim. After 4 emails and 6 phone calls with Customer Support over the past two months, and I still have no report to give to the insurance company.Business Response

My husband and I reached out to sunpower regarding solar installation and they had installers put our solar panels in that was not completed. Now that the installer company has closed. Sunpower will not reach out to us and when we call we get no where except theyre waiting for that company to call them back. We have been corresponding with sunpower for 18 months total and they have not assisted us at all and they are the company that had *********** put our panels and system installed but moxie never completed and left us with ****** in debt and electric bill as wellBusiness Response

Company is misrepresenting information and project to be in breach of contract terms They are using predatory practices in advertisements of timelines that they can not uphold including in signed agreements.Business Response

Thank you BBB for allowing us the opportunity to respond to the complaint against SunPower. The customer's case has been escalated and an escalation specialist has discussed the customers concerns regarding his claim of breach of contract. As discussed with the customer, ********************** is not contractually obligated to activate a system within the **** week time frame stated by the customer. We understand that there are things that are out of our control that can delay system activation pushing activation outside of the said timeframe. In this customers case the utility company delayed the *** process. Our Activation team is working to accommodate a sooner date for system activation but at this time the appointment is outside of the desired time frame. The customer has been asked to provide the documents said to contractually obligate SunPower to an **** week time frame for system activation but no documents have been received as of 12/22/22.Initial Complaint

I'm stuck between Sunpower who does not provide a willing and capable warrantee service provider in ******* and the only local dealer of Sunpower (************ **** who now claims to not be the service provider. My solar system has not worked for many months and countless hours on the phone and many promisses to remedy this have not resolved anything.
