I am the listing agent and buyers agent in a teal estate transaction with a closing date of Oct. 10. The solar company does not answer their phone or make an attempt to respond to our inquiries. They tell us that a solar transfer cannot happen for ***** days??? Apparently they are filing bankruptcy. But that delay should not be passed on to their clients. At the absolute least, they need to answer their phones. Highly unprofessional.Initial Complaint

I am in the process of selling my home and SunPower has been unresponsive in the transfer of my solar lease and I need to close on my home by the end of this week.I am in danger of not being able to close on my home due to their lack of response. I have provided my ticket number to this response and I would like for them to start and finish the process of my solar lease transfer with the well of my home so I can move out. I am in danger of not being able to close on my home due to their slow process. This should only take a couple of weeks max. On 9/5 & 9/11 *********** (Powerhouse Escrow) opened case for a release on the Solar's and have not received any *********** order to close borrower's, refinance we this solar release, if we don't loan doc's will expire and Lender will need to reissue new ones, that will take another 30 days.SunPower is not answering phone calls or emailsCustomer Answer

Complaint taken in dictation by H363137**3238313831H rep ** 9/30/24 Were leasing panels from H32343633333031**3432H they were install of the summer of 2023 and during the winter when it was raining we discovered a leak. When they install the panel we found out it was a joist leak. They fixed it once and then in May it was a rain storm and there was a leak in the same spot and a leak in the bathroom. So we did reached out again to H32343633333031**3432H and got a ticket and we spoke to **** and he was going to reach out to the installer to repair the leak and that was in June. We talk to him a couple times and he stated that they are trying to get in touch with the company to come fix the issue. Then in August the bankruptcy happened and we have not spoke with **** ever since. Now there saying wait and they will get someone and now its October and I cant wait to get my fix roof. I am not sure if it is okay to get someone to come fix it on my own. So I called today and they just are there to answer questions about the bankruptcy and make payment. My concerns is its going to rain soon and I don**;t want mold on my walls.Initial Complaint

In 2020, My wife and I purchased a home that had solar panels provided by SunPower. We had no intention of keeping them but we were told that the previous owners signed a 25 year contract and we could not proceed with the sale of the home if we did not continue. The power purchase agreement was not disclosed to me, the buyer.Over the past few months, Sunpower has been taking $100.68 as a monthly payment from us for the services provided. In these months, the solar panels have not been working as the company is "currently looking for a new provider to service the panels.' When we try to contact customer service, there is a message stating that "we are no longer offering customer service at this number" and are redirected to the website and then hangs up. Prior to this number not working, any phone call to them was unable to reach someone if at all after being on hold for over 45 minutes. SunPower is charging us for a service that is not being provided. I am looking to get this monthly charge removed as the solar panels are no longer operational.Initial Complaint

I am unable to close on the sale of my property due to SunPower's continued inaction when it comes to the solar lease transfer request, and have been reaching out for nearly a month now. We are past when we were supposed to close on the property, and numerous phone calls, e-mails, etc. go un-answered and un-responded to. Have spent numerous hours waiting for someone to answer, only to get told this paperwork is "in process" or that it may take up to ***** days to complete a couple of simple forms that I've already requested / filled out multiple times.This is impacting my ability to sell my $760,000 property, and just plain unacceptable. I simply need SunPower to provide a confirmation of the lease transfer form, provide the buyers with the credit check form and acknowledge credit approval, and release the *** to facilitate closing of the property. If not, I will have no choice but to pursue legal recourse with SunPower and its creditors / successors, should this contract fall through due to SunPower's inaction on this issue.Initial Complaint

We have solid panels installed through SunPower. Our inverter for the solar panels stopped working in February of 2023. We notified SunPower since it was still under warrenty. They took over a year to answer any phone calls or emails. They kept closing our case and making us reopen one. Finally, after a lot of time and hard work on our part they agreed to replace the inverter that was under warrenty. We got it replaced and had to pay a giant electrical bill for the time our solar was out. SunPower agreed to cover a very small portion of that bill. I have emails from them and phone conversations that they said they were issuing a check for $550 on July 3, 2024. They said it would take up to 3 weeks to arrive. In June 2015 I leased a solar system for my home. Unbeknownst to me, the system stopped working around November of 2023. I learned it was not working when I received an electric bill from Con *** I contacted SunPower, and they sent a repair person out in June 2024. He could not repair the system and noted that it would require someone to go onto the roof as he believed squirrels may have caused the damage. He said he would report it back to the company and ask them to expedite the repair. In July, another repair person came out, claiming that he was unaware of the need to go onto the roof and was unprepared to do so. He worked on the system externally and got half of it "working." He called in for a repair. Sunpower set up an appointment for October 4, 2024. While the last repair did get the system to generate electricity, it does not communicate with Con *** The company has since canceled that repair date with no new date set. Sunpower has since filed for bankruptcy, and calls and emails have not been returned. As this is a leased system, I have continued to pay for the lease despite not benefiting from the system.I am faced with a nonfunctional system that the Company has failed to address despite numerous messages and emails.Initial Complaint

My house is currently under contract to be sold and the lease for the solar needs to be transfer to the buyers. I call nearly every day with the same answer of the ticket being expedited or the buyers will receive an email in the next couple of days but nothing has been done. We were initially set to close on 9/16 but due to SunPowers unwillingness to do the transfer we had to push back our close date. We now have a new close date and still nothing from SunPower or ****** ********* with the transfer. The transfer information was sent to SunPower over 50 days ago and still nothing has been done. Everyone involved is at risk of losing a lot of money and SunPower is does not seem to be willing to do this simple task of transferring the lease to the buyers.Initial Complaint

We were sold a solar system by ********* who is now informing us that they filed bankruptcy. The system came with a 25 year warranty that is now null. The system no longer is operating properly and we will be forced to find and pay another company to service the system. We bought the system based on the warranty that came with it.We still owe over $8.5k for the system and have no recourse. Our electric bills are still over $300.00/mo. on top of the monthly payment for the system. My husband is on social security and we do not have the money to continue paying on a broken system.
