I noticed my SunPower system that I had installed in ******************************* April of 2023 year. I have spent numerous hours on the phone with their customer support and have been met with a workforce that has no real solutions to provide. The customer is kept completely out of the loop in terms of where their request stands. If you don't call incessantly you will not get updates on your work order either by phone call or email. I've had two service visits from subcontractors, which only happened because I called and was told they needed a picture of a breaker before submitting the work order. First I had heard of that and promptly got them the picture that was holding up the process. The breaker wasn't the issue, they sent the team back a second time to replace the breaker anyway. That team waited on the line with SunPower support looking for permission to try a different fix. They had such a long hold time that they had to leave to get home and the issues was left unresolved. Just called the subcontractor to see when the third visit was scheduled for and they told me they needed a new work order from Sunpower before they could send their crew back out. Of course the only way I found that out was by calling. No one had informed me that was where we were at. It is now September of 2023 and the issue hasn't even been diagnosed, let alone addressed. I've asked about compensation for my lost production, due to the clunky and unresponsive nature of their customer service and field service structure, but keep getting vague "well we can look into that once the issue is resolved". If you do get a SunPower system, hope it doesn't need service.SunPower Corporation

Sunpower should not be allowed to do business as it has been doing till now, they deceive people constantly, they have one of the worst customer service I have seen, we signed an agreement to have them install solar panels about 7 months ago, and we still have nothing, they never answer the phone, and e-mails take a week to be answered. They keep promising that someone will contact us, and no one calls us. Their product IQ is extremely limited. We have wasted all this time waiting, instead of looking for another better company.SunPower Corporation

If I could leave zero stars as a rating I would. I purchased a home 2 1/2 years ago that had solar panels from Sunpower already installed. I have had nothing but inept people on the other end of the phone or email. Not one person I have been in contact with, which Ive been many people, have helped with my problem. It is now to the point that people are just lying to me. I will respond within three days. This has been sent to an escalation specialist who will contact you within three days. Etc. etc. I have tried to be patient and understanding eight months ago when I first filed the case. Not one person has been honest with me from this company.I have purchased the home with the availability of SRECS to be sold. I am the only person I know that actually makes a payment of $206 a month for the use of the solar panels. The point of that was supposed to be that I could sell the extra power accumulated. After registering with NJSREC almost a year ago, I was told that I actually have less kilowatt hours after two years then when I actually purchased the home. It doesnt take a genius to know that lifetime usage cannot go in reverse! They said I need to have Sunpower correct the issue. I have had technicians from ******** multiple times to examine the solar panels. I was told by the technician that the panels need to be replaced. That hasnt happened of course I continue to pay my monthly fee even though I have no collection being shown on my lifetime usage. I set up a custom lifetime usage on my account. From my date of purchase March 18, 2021 until the present, August 2023. It shows my usage is over ****** kWh above the original ****** kWh at the time of purchase. When NJSREC looks at my lifetime usage in full it states there is only ******+ kilowatt hours. This needs to be corrected! It is getting to the point where I may have to take this company to court. I strongly strongly recommend to anyone who is considering solar panels to NOT use SUNPOWER !SunPower Corporation

Lets start with why I gave SunPower even one star. They have one of the best performing panels on the market. Their service is terrible. It took over 13 months for them to finish the installation and another 2 months before the monitor was brought on line. We had delay after delay with no explanation, in fact, no communication unless I initiated it. When I did finally get in touch with a project coordinator, they would often lie to me or simply not be able to give me any information. As a final insult, I was informed by one of the installers that the panels should have screening around the edges to prevent damage from birds and rodents getting under the panels. SunPower said they were not responsible even though I lease these panels and any damage will be their responsibility to repair. SunPoower is so short sighted. 15 months of frustration till we finally got a completed project.SunPower Corporation

I got the permission to turn on by PG&E in March 2023 and the technicians said my communication box was not working so the tech with SunPower said he would come back next week and put a new one on. It took all the way through August to get the box fixed/replaced. During the whole time nobody would communicate with me nor tell me anything. Even the project coordinator wouldnt even respond to my calls or emails. I finally got a supervisor to tell me how his going to give me credit for the inconvenience plus give me credit for having there technicians come out over 4 times to complete site survey because I had to take time off for work. Never did anything happen. They are the worse in service and never follow through. I wish I went elsewhere as their prices are high. I only signed up thinking I would get 5 star treatment but that didnt happen. My father went with EVO Energy for same amount of panels and paid half the cost. No issues with them and it was done way smoother and faster.SunPower Corporation

A year ago this week I paid Sunpower $300 to have a technician come out to my home to figure out why my solar panel system was underperforming. I was told at the time that if the problem was covered by the warranty I would be refunded the $300. It took several months to have a technician look at the system and a few more months to have two faulty inverters fixed, but as of April the system was back to 100% functional. Since that time I have placed at least a half dozen calls and emails to the company to get my $300 back and was told repeatedly the refund was close to being processed. Yet here I am, one year later, $300 poorer, not to mention having lost several hours of my time trying to get my money back. I am pleased with the Sunpower product itself, but the customer service is without a doubt the worst I have ever experienced from any company. The worst. **************** reps are pleasant on the phone, but you will wait forever to have your issue resolved. Ignore the company response that will inevitably follow this post. Read the user reviews and you will know the real deal.SunPower Corporation

Stay away from SunPower and learn from what happened to me.I ****** with SunPower Nov 18, 2022 to meet the *** 2 deadline (April 15, 2023). My salesperson was *****************. While I ****** the *** 2 paperwork for PG&E in Feb 2023, There were some delays and I had hoped to have the entire system installed by no later than the end of Feb 2023. *** assured me that I had 3 years with SunPower to get the system in place. However, SunPower never submitted my *** 2 paperwork to PG&E. They did not inform me until July 2023 that they made this mistake. This is a costly mistake for me, but there are no repercussions or penalties for SunPower. When I do go Solar, it will NOT be with SunPower.SunPower Corporation

I have had the run around with SunPower since March 13, 2023 with a issue relating to an underperforming system. A panel was not working, but you wouldn't know that unless someone tells you that you have to call in to their **************** line and ask them to turn that feature on for you. This is how I discovered that one of my brand new panels was not working. The other issue had to do with a part that was not communicating the data. It took about three weeks to get that part in and another 4 weeks from the time you schedule the appointment to the time they can come out to install it. Then, when they are there, they don't seem to confirm that it's working properly or that the issue is resolved before they leave again - telling you it should be working again tomorrow after they perform the maintenance overnight. When you call into their **************** line, you get the typical "we are having a team review your case and it will take 5 business days" answer EVERY - SINGLE - TIME you talk to them. Even if your case becomes a PRIORITY. The **************** people can't do much other than that and apologize. Outside of that, no one calls you back and follows up like they say they will. FIVE MONTHS I've been waiting for my FULLY PAID system to be completely operational. I am not aware of any other options I have to get someone's attention to the matter. Hopefully, someone with a higher level of status will contact me and see this through in a timely manner.SunPower Corporation

I regret we hired sunpower to install the solar. When installed it, the technician decided to replace two of my existing breakers in the electric panel, w/o asking me. Sent their technician back several times to fix various issues. They left the system running before we get PG&E approval. And later another technician told me that he had turned it off, otherwise PG&E might fine us! Today they sent a technician once again to fix another issue. This guy just shut down power to the house completely, w/o getting my permission! This has caused a mess. One of my computer is broken that I cannot fix remotely now. This company would never be profitable because they cannot help do dumb things all the time!SunPower Corporation

I have had SunPower for almost 10 years and every year the SunPower system has under performed. I have been complaining for years and they have done nothing except take my monthly payment. I am losing money everyday and paying Southern California ******* as well. I am on my third Escalation Specialist and still nothing has been accomplished. I assume they don't care and I don't know what else to do. They have not paid me for years 1 thru 8 Performance Guarantee payments either.SunPower Corporation

We sent you emails the first year that the panels were under performing. October 21, 2014 and we did not even get a reply. My wife does not want to work with SunPower ever again. Here we are 9 years later and SunPower has done nothing. I have paid $17,000 more for electricity than what I should have. I sent you Escalation specialist all the numbers. He is waiting for management to make a decision and they continue to take the time. I have tried to communicate every week for at least the last 6 months to try to get then to do something. It is so frustrating I am about to give up myself. I thought that going solar was to help with two things. Removing the burden on ******************* ****** to provide power to ******************* and to lower the utility cost for ************. Now, I think it was just another company that manipulated consumers and continues to show bad business practices. Their management under performs as much as their solar panels under perform. Making a complaint here on BBB website has done nothing, talking to the Escalation Specialist at SunPower has done nothing, so I guess nothing will be done. Well, I am done.
