      Error Code E031: Lack of review, approval and response to non-functioning inverter. Dates to review issue and approve promised, but never kept. No response to emails. Doesn't matter if you have great solar panels if the energy they capture can't be used! Treated like 3rd class *****************: Called tech. support and after going through trouble shooting; completely shut the system down, restarted, still rec'd the E031 error. I sent photos of the error code they requested. Worked with ****** who placed a request to the work order team to approve replacement inverter. He stated an email would be sent after they completed their review. He said it would take 24 to 48 hours for the official approval of the claim and may take up to 4 to 6 weeks to get a replacement inverter.17July23:Sent email requesting status update. NO RESPONSE.19July23: Still no word on E031 error. Called again. talked with ****. I told him it had been a week and no word. He looked at the case number and said they were still waiting for upper approval. He said it usually takes 24 to 48 hours to review replacement request, but they have been very busy lately. He checked with the review team. Escalated request and set status to critical.He said it should be reviewed (and approved) by 21July23. Once approved they will notify me via email of the approval and they will enter a replacement request. If a replacement unit is not available, they will request one to be "made/shipped' from *****. This may take an additional 4 to 6 weeks.21July23: No email has been received.28July23: Still no word on E031 error. Sent another email to their tech. support plus called again, talked with ***. Restated problem and no resolution for last 16 days. She put me on hold to check with the work order team. After being on hold for 20+ minutes the call was disconnected.Called back and ***** answered. He said he will check into the issue and have someone contact me before the end of the business day today.

      Do not contract with SunPower! We went with Sunpower because they were one of the oldest in the business assuming that meant they were reliable, competent and professional. Unfortunately, none of that is true. Here are some of our concerns. 1. Lack of timeliness. When we signed our contract, they lead us to believe that we would have a system installed and operating within a few months. It took a year. During that year of waiting, our project coordinator rarely communicated with when we reached out to get updates. 2. Improper pre-installation assessment. We were advised that our roof was ready for install without replacement or repairs (we had just bought the home). Over the winter after the install, we had multiple roof leaks that would have been avoided had we been advised to get our roof replaced beforehand. Additionally, we suspect that some of the leaks are due to improper installation.3. Terrible communication. In addition to near failure to communicate updates between signing our contact and the install, we have now called 5-6 times in the past month asking them to coordinate with our roofers for our September roofing project. The first call was never even recorded appropriately. In subsequent calls we have gotten mixed info about the priority level of the project. 4. Failure to comply with required permitting. Our roofers just let us know that our solar system permit was never finalized, so now our roof project is getting held up in permitting. When I told Sunpower this, they adamantly insist that the permit was completed and are declining to contact the county to clear up the process. This is the most difficult contracting process I have ever gone through. 10/10 do not recommend SunPower. I am hoping to find a way to cancel my contract without a huge financial loss.

      Complaint against SunPower Corporation for false promises made, destruction of property, failure to fulfill contract, harassment of staff, and the lack of resolution and compensation for the issues I have faced. Since my initial contact with SunPower on January 2, 2023, I have experienced an ongoing series of problems and unprofessional conduct that has left me deeply dissatisfied and frustrated. To date (July 19, 2023) I still do not have functioning solar panels, the solar box on my house is hanging off the wall and has been going on 4 months now. 1. False Promises: SunPower sales representative, *********************, made several false promises and misrepresentations to secure the contract.2. Destruction of Property: During the installation process, SunPower's contractors caused significant damage to my property. Despite numerous requests, my home has not been restored to its original condition.3. Failure to Fulfill Contract: SunPower has failed to fulfill its contractual obligations by not providing a fully installed and operational solar system. The panels and electrical box remain incomplete, leaving me unable to benefit from the intended energy savings.4. Lack of Communication and Resolution: Despite my attempts to contact *****, the supposed regional manager, he has consistently failed to return calls or respond to text messages. He has promised to address the issues but has not followed through, leaving me without a working system or a resolution to my concerns.5. Unprofessional Contractor: The contractor repeatedly sent by SunPower has displayed unprofessional behavior. I have explicitly requested that this individual not be sent to my property, but my requests have been ignored by "*****" regional manager.This prolonged ordeal has caused significant distress, financial burden, and loss of trust in SunPower. The company has not lived up to the reputation I initially reviewed online, nor has it upheld its A+ rating with the BBB.

      My system has not been fully working for a year now. Looking at the charts an inverter stopped functioning last July (in 2022), I reported the issue in January as that was the first time I looked at the monitoring, several trips here throughout the last several months and they still tell me that the replacement unit is still awaiting to arrive.Their monitoring requires you to see if there is a problem, even if the system is reporting a problem they are not monitoring anything. Their service so far has been absolutely horrible I recommend that no one do any business with them.

      I am writing to file a complaint against SunPower Corporation regarding the non-functionality of my solar system since October 2022. Despite numerous attempts to have the issue resolved, Additionally, the poor response from their energy aid contractor company has added to the problem.In October 2022, I reported that my solar system was not functioning and not producing solar power. I had installed the system with the expectation of harnessing renewable energy to power my home. However, since then, the solar panels have ceased to function, rendering them completely useless. I have made approximately 30 email enquiries and around 20 phone calls to SunPower Corporation, seeking assistance to resolve the issue.As a gesture of good faith, I offered to pay for the expenses associated with the faulty inverter, even though the solar system is still within the warranty period. However, SunPower Corporation has not taken any meaningful action to resolve the issue or provide a working solar unit.After 8 months of correspondence, I finally had the solar inverter replaced. However, just two days later, the new inverter started showing error code ****. Researching the error, I discovered that there is an issue with the panel junction boxes that needs to be fixed. I have sent multiple emails and provided pictures to SunPower Corporation, requesting assistance. They have assured me that a technician will come and fix the issue, but despite waiting for over a month, no one has shown up to address the problem. I have spent numerous hours trying to contact both SunPower and the energy aid contractor company to resolve the issue.I urgently request your intervention to ensure that SunPower Corporation takes prompt and effective action to rectify the non-functional solar panels or provide an appropriate resolution. Additionally, I seek compensation for the financial losses and inconvenience I have endured over the past nine months due to the lack of solar energy production.

      They seem to be a greedy power company not interested in helping their customers, just collecting lease fees and new customer money. I am a lease customer, so they have obligations if the system is not performing. They wont make appointments when you call. My system has not been working at all, no production, and they still say they are in the process of getting an appointment approved for over a month now. They just keep telling me they are waiting for approval. FOR AN APPOINTMENT. Meanwhile I am racking up a big PGE true up with summer electricity use and rates. I have never seen anything like it. It is a lease. They see on their end that it is not working. They should be here immediately. I got forced into this lease when I bought the house. I wish I had never bought the house now just because of SunPower. They even delayed my escrow closing by 2 months. Find another solar company of just pay your power company!

      My Sunpower Systen has not been producing power for 3 months. The system is leased. I started calling in April of 2023. Today is June 29 2023. Ive called many times to customer service and have a case number. The earliest a Sunpower technician can be here to diagnose the problem is July 13th 2023. They say there is a ground fault. Over the 3 months they keep saying they are diagnosing the problem. What is the technician going to do? All the power that I have not made and my monthly payments they say can possibly be refunded after everything is running again and could take up to a year to refund. If parts are not available then what will Sunpower do?

      I purchase 6 panels and after 2 months my system is not fully functional. I cant rate the performance of the system because Im not able to monitor it. I can rate the customer service. The fact that Im writing a review which I rarely do. But I wanted to warn anyone who wants to purchase a product and have good customer support. I havent gotten it. Definitely one of the worst consumer experiences Ive ever had. I purchased instead of lease and regret it. I spoke to the city utility rep again yesterday she basically said she has never seen a situation like mines but unfortunately you are stuck with them. I contacted another company to remove and reinstall another solar provider. Will cost me thousands but I would rather pay for good customer service and support which is sad to say becoming more rare these days.

      Just the worst company out there, stay away.It is about to be one year from the signing of the contract, it started with delays for materials for 6 months than scheduling issues, than after they finished installation they had changed the layout and put 5 panels less that what we agreed on. It is now 4 months after the installation and the system is still not on because they failed the inspection. I have been calling and emailing everyone and there is no answers from anyone.

      Was very happy with the system in general, 5 + years and going, except now. Must have had a newbie installer for a few of the roof panels and now it rains through 2 floors inside the house. 2/3rds of the installation is fine, it's only one area 1/3rd of the install that is bad. Several attempts at reaching out, eventually got a rep and he claimed would schedule a panel removal to help facilitate the roof repairs. This has been 3 months and counting, yet it remains to rain indoors on the second floor and ground floor ceilings. Not a single call single email no contact at all, the only emails are the default in payments which was done in order to get Sun Powers Attention! We no longer have a functional Central Air Unit, the ducting and diffuser's had to be removed in order place buckets in the attic in order to catch as much or the water leaking. We had to buy Window units while the Central air unit has been rendered inoperative. The system and concept is great, the human factors and support for this company is totally miserable. I recommend the solar, but IDK if i would recommend this company if you need any support.
