At the beginning of January 2023, I decided to consolidate my bills into one payment with the help of Liberty Finance. ******* sold my contract to Beyond Finance. They promised to contact all my creditors and settle with them and in turn pay off these bills on a monthly basis. I agreed and after 5 months of paying, they only contacted one creditor ********. AT this time my credit has been ruin. They did not explain to me that after 120 days, they would contact my creditors when my credit was totally ruined.I called them and told them, I cannot go through with this, because my life has been ruin, I needed my money back to pay my creditors. I can contact my creditors myself and negotiate for myself.They promised to return my money, but they did not.I then contacted Liberty Finance and *** who was my first contract did not try to help me to get my money back.Business Response

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on January 11, 2023. At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Enrollment Agreement with you prior to your signing. Information about your program length can be located under the section entitled "Schedule A List of Creditors and Debt & Program Details". This section confirmed that you enrolled in a 55 month program.
Additionally, information about anticipated timing of settlement offers and impact to your credit worthiness can be located under the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 8. "Timing and Program Estimates" and sections 13. "Disclaimer". They read, in part, as follows:
" While guidelines differ widely among Creditors, in our experience an accumulation of 25%-50% of the then-current balance of a Debt and approximately 4-6 months from the last payment will normally enable us to make a good-faith offer to resolve your first and subsequent Debts."
"The use of Companys debt resolution services will likely adversely affect Clients creditworthiness"

Dear Sir/Madam:
Beyond Finance did not provide me with any amounts for their fees. They told me, they would return my funds via my Bank (****************). They never did. They took my $2,000.00 plus for fees? This is ridiculous! They made contact with 1 creditor only which was ******** and made 1 payment. Their concern was "Make you make your monthly payment." Citizens have the right to cancel contracts if the Business does not meet their satisfaction. At first, I went into a contract with Liberty Finance. They sold my contract to Beyond Finance. When I contacted Liberty Finance, I was told me, that Beyond would have refunded me.
These businesses are out to making poor people worse off instead of helping them. This policy is fraudulent, and I would like Beyond Finance to refund me.

Review determined that the agent advised that if there were remaining funds, they would be returned to you. At the time of your requested termination, there were outstanding fees owed related to your active approved arrangement that, once processed, did not allow for a refund.
As covered in your enrollment agreement, fees are earned one the arrangement has been approved and a minimum of one payment made to the creditor. As you elected to terminate your program, this fee was accelerated.

Beyond Finance misrepresented their services and were blatantly deceitful. Beyond Finance took money from my dedicated account to pay themselves BEFORE settling my accounts. Currently, they claim to have settled 7 accounts, but I am still receiving phone calls from creditors that claim to have not been paid. I enrolled approximately $19,000.00 in debt and was told they would receive a percentage of that original amount. They are charging much more. They strongly persuaded me to obtain a loan with their partner company above lending, which I did and I have now been told that the loan will not cover beyond finances charges.Business Response

I used this company to pay off debt, I was going through a bad divorce and just needed a company to help consolidate debt, until divorce was over then I paid the whole lump sum for them to pay off my debt to the companies, because they did not pay everything off like we requested and asked for, interest built up over months, mind you I was calling every 2-3 weeks telling them to pay all the companies off, they assured me time and time again that they would pay off the companies since I deposited over $7k in their account, but they never paid off the companies so now interest is higher and they are now saying there isn't enough money to cover for the full debt amount, after speaking with multiple managers showing them that this is their fault on their end but not paying it off with the payoff amount they gave me, they now want more money to pay everything off. I have shown multiple managers emails and legal documents they have sent me proving their mistakes. I am always promised a call back, but nothing ever happens. this is now a crime they are holding my money and not doing what they have contracted to do. Now I can't get ahold of anyone after 2 managers have my info and promised to call me back.Business Response

In February 2023 , I entered into an agreement with Beyond Finance to consolidate and settle my debts to smaller amounts. As part of the agreement, I agreed to make monthly payments directly to Beyond Finance. Over the course of several months, I consistently fulfilled my payment obligations as per the agreed terms.However, during this period, I was advised by Beyond Finance to completely ignore my original creditors and refrain from making any payments to them. I trusted their guidance and followed their instructions in good faith, believing that my debts were being handled and settled appropriately.To my surprise, without any prior notice or explanation, I discovered that my settlement contract with Beyond Finance had been abruptly canceled. Consequently, I was informed that I owed the full amount of money to my original creditors, with no reduction or settlement applied. This sudden turn of events not only left me confused and frustrated but also placed me in a financially vulnerable position.Furthermore, the cancellation of the settlement offer was not accompanied by any notification or reasoning from Beyond Finance. In light of these circumstances, I have taken the necessary steps to protect my rights as a consumer. I have already filed a complaint with the ************************************ (CFPB) to address the unfair treatment I have experienced. I I kindly request your intervention in this matter to facilitate the following:1. A full refund of the payments I made to Beyond Finance, as the services promised were not delivered, and the settlement contract was unilaterally canceled without explanation.2. this is incorrect. I had several hundred dollars in my dedicated account so I was told I had wiggle room to reschedule a payment or two because the payments would come directly from my account. There was money in my account and my settlement was still canceled. Ask beyond finance for a my payment history to confirm. Beyond mismanaged my money.

Agreed to pay 200 biweekly a year and 5 months ago. Raised on my own to 250 biweekly 5 months ago. Legal action has been taken against me. I now have a court date. Beyond finance is very little help. I raised it again about a month ago to 275 biweekly and their response to my legal problems is because they need more money in the account for negotiations. Well Ive paid over $7,000 in that year and a half and less than half has gone out to the creditors. Being told I may have to hire a lawyer. With what money.? They have all of it. Again, the settlement fees were being deducted aggressively without making payments on the settlement and also without the settlement being settled .. so you got paid for nothing and kept the money while the debt is still owed .. thats malicious, opportunistic oppressive and unethical.

I was enrolled in Beyond Finances program since January 10, 2023. As of November 28, 2023, I have paid Beyond Finance $4,793.65 and have received absolutely NO debt resolves, at that time, I canceled my enrollment.I have several complaints with Beyond Finance and voiced them through emails that went unanswered and ignored on at least 3 different occasions. A customer service representatives took my two CreditOne accounts off the payment list without my knowledge nor approval. This caused BOTH account to double in balance owed, which is apparently now my responsibility to pay the additional cost because of Beyond Finances mistake. There is also the issue with another creditor, *********** Financial, who Beyond Finance has claimed that *********** Finance is not communicating with them. I received a text message from *********** Financial on November 22, 2023 stating that Beyond Finance has NEVER reached out to them. They have even tried to contact Beyond Finance. I have attached, again, screenshots of the last communications from *********** Finance that I already emailed to Beyond Finance.I have even requested that Beyond Finance pay off my smaller creditors, USAA and the two CreditOne companies. Beyond Finance has refused to honor my request.A total of $4,793.65 was paid to Beyond Finance yest they state they have an agreement with a 3rd party for service fees for negotiating my debt, yet at no time did Beyond Finance do anything other than breach our contract.I am now supposed to sit back and allow Beyond Finance to keep the money that I paid even though services were never rendered.The $277.70 that Beyond Finance is refusing to refund me is the difference for me in paying a bill or getting groceries. The complaint is that ZERO action was taken in attempting to negotiate with my creditors. A supervisor for Beyond Finance named ***** even confirmed that there was NO COMMUNICATIONS between Beyond Finance and my creditors. In fact, when I requested back in August to receive updates bia email from Beyond Finance in regards to my account, NOT A SINGLE communications were initiated by Beyond Finance, I repeatedly send emails asking for updates and NOT ONCE did I receive response. If this is the way Beyond Finance works by taking a clients money, doesn't communicate with the client and doesn't make contact with the creditors to start negotiations then Beyond Finance isn't doing their job. For being enrolled in their program for 11 months and NOT A SINGLE creditor was contacted was is unprofessional and bad operating procedures. Review of your program determined that you authorized a settlement on January 19,2023, shortly after your enrollment. Four payments were made to the creditor prior to your circumstances requiring that you request termination from the program. We are happy that we were able to reduce a portion of your debt.
At the time of your requested termination, there was still a balance on the settlement fee owed related to the authorized settlement. As outlined in your enrollment documents, an ACH of no more than fifty dollars ($50.00) per debit entry, to be made on or shortly after the same dates as your normal Beyond program deposits, will take place to resolve the outstanding fees owed for resolution services.
As you indicated that you were experiencing financial difficulties, we made an effort to delay efforts to care for the fee owed.

The company agree to settlement my debt for less than I owed. I enrolled in the program in April. From April until now I had one settlement done. The company compensate themselves depleting my dedicated account and hindering another settlement being reached. I was advise that since there was no funds in my account I didn't have enough to initiate any other settlements. After speaking with a manager I was issued part of my fees back in the amount *******, the very next day there was another settlement on the account. There could have been more settlements done. The agreement discusses the fees, but does not state that the company fees will be deducted upfront and once settle they will proceed with attempting other settlements. This company is a ripoff. They made over ***** and I am still in debt. Everyone's account is not handle equally. There are countless stories and as well as the person I referred who reached multiple settlement without Beyond wiping out their account to pay themselves first. We even had the same creditors I enrolled months ahead and got one settlement the other person already has multiple settlement with the same creditors. There are countless others whoms account were mishandled and Beyond paid themselves in fees before doing another settlement. They prove that multiple settlements could have been reached by extending a settlement within a day or 2 of issuing my funds back to the dedicated account in their system. I cancelled the program but was told I would still owe them 25%, any remaining funds would be paid toward their fees for the settlement. However Beyond charge a fee for handling the payment. But payment will no longer be handled. I should be issued at minimum a partial refund. The manager did refund part money back to the dedicated account as things were handled properly. I wasn't told I wouldn't get refunded part of my money back if I canceled. No funds were refunded to my bank account.Business Response

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on April 10, 2023. At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Enrollment Agreement with you prior to your signing. Information about when program fees are earned can be located under the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 11. (a). "Program Fees". It reads, in part, as follows:
"Program fees are due and earned when: (i) the Company reaches a resolution on an enrolled debt with a creditor, (ii) the Client accepts and agrees to the new terms, and (iii)the first payment of the new agreed upon terms is made to the creditor"
Beyond Finance met all established criteria prior to earning any installment of the fee related to the settlement you authorized.
This program is designed to reach and pay towards settlement offers throughout the lifetime of the program. Your first settlement was extended within the established expectations. While we understand your frustration that another enrolled customer with similar creditors may have received more offers, however there are several factors that must be taken into consideration. Account balances, monthly payment and length of delinquency are all taken into account. Each of our clients is in a unique situation and will progress through the program differently.
At the time of your requested termination, there was still a fee owed on the settlement that you had authorized. Once those fees were accounted for, there were no remaining funds in your dedicated savings account.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.I only accept this response because I was issued a partial refund. Otherwise I do not agree to the company's decision to deduct fees upfront and in the prcoess hinder the possibility of additional settlements and a success and timely graduation from the program.

I enrolled in Beyond Finances debt relief program in May of 2019 with three credit cards. Two of the cards were settled and paid off but the third, to Chase, Beyond finance made a settlement with and I made all my payments to them, they collected the full amount of the settlement but they never paid Chase. Now my credit score plummeted and ***** says I owe them the original amount plus interest. I cannot dispute this because beyond finance refuses to send me proof of payments made. They have taken my money and not made the agreed settlement.Business Response
