      I have a brand new southwest Chase ***** which I received last week and on June 19 I received a charge of $27.49 for instant checkmate which I did not purchase.

      We understand how concerning it can be to see an unfamiliar charge and appreciate the opportunity to address this matter.

      Instant Checkmate is a public records search engine that compiles publicly available information into easy-to-read reports. Our memberships operate on a subscription model that renews automatically until canceled by the user, which is clearly outlined during the sign-up process. Full billing terms are displayed on our registration page (***********************************************) and detailed in our Terms of Use (***************************************************).
      During registration, users must provide an electronic signature and actively agree to these terms before any charges are processed.

      After a careful review, we located an account associated with the email ************************ which was used to search for public records on ***** ******.
      In cases of suspected fraud, we always encourage the billed party to reach out directly so we can investigate thoroughly. Once confirmed, we immediately disable the account, cancel any active memberships, and refund the most recent charge.

      As a courtesy, we have canceled and refunded this account, and disabled access to prevent any further use. The $27.49 charge has been reversed, and depending on your financial institution, please allow 35 business days for the charge to be fully removed.

      We were able to locate a background report and validate ****** Gadomskis request based on the information provided in the complaint. We have gone ahead and suppressed the report pursuant to the request and our Terms.

      Please note that even when a background report is suppressed, some information may still appear on our site in connection with certain featuresfor example, in registered *** offender lists, as a possible relative or associate in another individuals report, or through phone or email lookups.

      I was looking for certain information on their site which claims they can provide and all I found was old information that wasn't even updated from the dates I was searching. I was on for almost 10 minutes and I knew they could not provide me what I was looking for. I immediately called three times in which I was hung up on all three times . I would like a full refund please as definitely not happy with the few minutes I was on their site!

      I contacted this company in the past to have my data removed from this website; as a response it was promptly removed. I recently did a ****** search and saw that my data was put back onto the website without my consent. I have sent email requests to have my data removed and was told my email is not associated with the website data. I have called the call center on dates 4/23/25, 4/28/25, and 5/5/25, requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was told I on every occasion none were available and that I would receive a phone call from one within 48 to 72 hours, without a return phone call or update on my personal removal of data on their website. Instead it seems as if they are attempting to collect personal data from me on every phone call in order to update their website. They use defamation techniques to reel people into using their website. Defamation such as this profile may contain graphic images, possible traffic or criminal record associated with this name, etc. They make it extremely difficult for someone to remove personal data from the website, although claim it is as simple as a click or phone call, and never have a supervisor available.

      In March 2024, I signed up for Instant Checkmates services at $5.99/month. I canceled my account in July 2024 and believed my subscription had ended. However, while recently reviewing my ****** history, I discovered that I was also being charged $84.28 every three months beginning in March 2024. These are charges I was not aware of and did not knowingly ************ appears I was signed up for an additional, higher-tier membership at the same time I enrolled in the basic plan. I received no separate confirmation or billing notices indicating that two subscriptions were active. When I canceled my account in July 2024, only the $5.99/month plan was canceled; the $84.28 plan continued to renew without my knowledge.The unauthorized charges occurred on the following dates:March 20, 2024 $84.28 June 18, 2024 $84.28 September 18, 2024 $84.28 December 17, 2024 $84.28 March 17, 2025 $84.28 I called customer service and was told that they could only refund the most recent charge from March 2025. That refund has been processed. However, the remaining four charges (March, June, September, and December 2024), totaling $337.12, are considered non-refundable due to their age, despite me never knowingly enrolling in or using the higher-tier service.I am requesting a refund for the remaining $337.12 in charges. I believe this situation resulted from unclear or misleading sign-up practices and a lack of transparency in account billing. I acted in good faith by canceling what I thought was my only subscription in July 2024 and did not use the service any after that.

      To provide additional clarity for Ms. ******* the welcome email that customers receive after registering for our services includes not only a receipt of their current order but also details the membership terms they accepted during sign-up. Our services are subscription-based and do run on a recurring basis. Members have the option to end their membership whenever they wish, either by accessing their account online, reaching out to phone support, or by emailing our support team.

      As informed by one of our representatives who assisted Ms. ******* the maximum number of permitted refunds, equivalent to two months of charges, have been successfully processed. A total of $84.25 will be credited back to her payment method within 35 business days, subject to her financial institution's processing times.

      Additionally, since Ms. ****** has also disputed with her financial institution, the account has been disabled to prevent further access or refunds. She should receive an update directly from them regarding the resolution. Generally, the dispute process takes between four and five weeks.

      To protect my privacy and remove my records, I tried to opt out of Instant Checkmate using their online opt-out tool at: ******************************************************************, in order to complete the verification process, they only allow me to select a mobile phone no. (which is no longer valid), and not my e-mail address (which they have on record).After sending e-mails to: ***************************************** there was no response. Clearly, they are trying to hinder one's ability to remove one's records from their system by not allowing a valid verification option, and insisting on the use of an invalid phone no.I would like them to remove my records or enable me to do this myself by using the valid e-mail address as a verification method.This is the link to my online records, which I would like removed from Instant Checkmate (aka PeopleConnect), and any of their affiliated sites: ****************************************************************************** they confirm this has been done (and commit to not adding my data again at a later date), the BBB case can be closed.Thank you for your assistance on this.

      Instant Checkmate put my personal information on public display 4 days ago after I applied for a business account. They put my full name, my current and past address, 5 email address, my age, my phone number, my license and career. Everything combined so that anyone can easily use search engines to find out all my personal information. This puts my life and my families life at great risk due to the field I am working in and the fact that I do not want past people to be able to access my personal address by searching my name and phone number. I do not want clients to be able to come to my home and access my personal phone number with a simple search. I have worked hard to make sure my privacy is protected online.
