1 starDue to improper restraint technique provided by the vet assistant, my dog showed signs of distress and ultimately stopped breathing. There were four Vetco employees in the small clinic area and not one professional noticed until I called it out that my pets tongue was blue/plum colored. The actions of the vet assistant were not only negligent but also indicative of a lack of proper training and awareness regarding the appropriate handling of animals. The excessive restraint applied to my dog was entirely unnecessary and led to a preventable and critical situation. I requested documentation and was denied my request yet later received an email with the paperwork. The paperwork falsely documented the events of the day stating that my dog stopped breathing due to nervousness. This inaccurately reflects the circumstances on June 1st and furthermore his previous records would also indicate this is false. Specifically his pulse was 120 and the year previous, his pulse was 204 and last years visit went without incident. Additionally when in sheer panic of my dogs condition the vet relayed that my dog would regain his breathing once the assistant relieves pressure applied to my dog further proving improper technique and restraint of my small 10 pound dog. This fraudulent documentation is deeply troubling and undermines the trust and integrity expected from a professional veterinary practice.Review fromErica C

1 starTerrible **************** I will never go back to their vet clinic again. The greeter of clinic in *********** on Sunday 6/9/2024 was very rude, condescending and unfriendly. She needs customer service training. I had been using Vip for previous vaccines for puppy. I thought it was same company. So I showed the lady my puppies prior vaccines. The whole time she was Cold had an attitude and seemed argumentative. I showed her the paperwork I had she kept asking to see it and I already had shown her. I ended up leaving due to her incompetence and rudeness. Use VIP instead never had an issue. I will never use them again. I shouldn't of wasted my time. 1 starBe aware of scamming vet. They don't give pricing out for spraying cat. They want to charge a consultation $69 before you can find out.I called on the phone, and the medical director said they would email me the price. I asked for a return call back after I reviewed the pricing. The medical director kept trying to justify why they needed a consultation appointment and blamed corporate for pricing while corporate had no number phone to deal with the complaints. I didn't want to hear any more deceptive lies from her. I asked to end the conversation there. She said her veterinarian and corporate charges ********************************* not the cat can handle the medications to put the cat to sleep. They talk about blood work. All of these things they justify needing a consultation for but these practices are typically handled in the same day as the procedure. They purposefully split them up to charge more for the procedure. But the medical director just wanted to justify splitting it up and then deflect to corporate for pricing. She has incompetent to do this call back. They want to do extra stuff that the vet hospital and seminole county animal services didn't need to do in a separate consultation. I will not be back. They can scam some other person but not me. $784 + 69 clininc exam to do a cat spray, consultation cost for you to find out extra $69. The veterinary hospital wanted $500. The Vetco is charging $12.48 for a box of onsior (robenacoxib) 6 mg tablets that are $7.99 inside the Petco. Inside the same building, you can buy the same drug for less, but the veterinarian is charging for a profit on the pain medication. 1 starI unfortunately bought a dog thundershirt at the ********* in ******** store. The product was 100% satisfaction guaranteed and I needed to return for larger size ( did this same day). After trying the thundershirt for three days we found no calming effect so I attempted to return the product. The store would only offer me store credit and I felt that was not satisfactory and wanted the money credited to my charge card. After speaking with three people in store as well as the manager they stated that there was nothing they could do because my account was locked. I would have to call customer service and see if they could help. After speaking to two different customer assistance people they assured me that the account was unlocked and I could get the return handled in 48 hours. On my third return to this store they confirmed that the account was indeed NOT unlocked and could only offer me a store credit. This seems like a big scam to me. The store offers 100% satisfaction and that was not given. I was so tired of dealing with this that I took a store credit and bought dog food that I did not need. Upon looking online it is nearly impossible to complain to the corporation or store management. Store manager refused to give me any phone or email other than the customer service call center. 1 starI placed an order through the Petco application, but although the money was withdrawn, the application gave an error and the order could not be created. I called the customer representative and instead of canceling, he took the payment from me again and re-created the order. So now I paid 2 orders for 1. I want a refund but no one helps, how does this happen? I called and wrote many times, but they did not refund my money! I say my money was deducted from my account twice, I send screenshots but no, they never refund, I want my money back. This is your fault, your site made a mistake and took my money, and when I called you, instead of refunding it, you took my money again!Review fromRyan S

1 starMy 11 year old dogs groomer retired. With no one taking new dogs I brought him here. Within an hour of me dropping him off they cut my dogs ear cutting him. Brought him to the vet and called us back. Youd think that was the worst of it but no. During the call to my wife they said his mats was the reason they cut him and accused of negligence on our part as the reason. Said to come pick him up right away and they will never see him again. I went to pick him up and hes half shaved, traumatized, wrapped up in a bandaid with a cone on his head. The lack of customer service, empathy, and negligence on THEIR part sickened me worst than any experience I have had with an employer. Thus my first time writing on this. 1 starPetco used to be a wonderful place and had great customer service. In recent years they have stopped being customer-centric. My vet sent a script for pet food. I have placed two orders (March and April) with the script so far. Now for my third order they are requiring another script even though my original one has plenty of refills left. This has been a big wast of my time and vets office time. I will be looking to take my business to another retailer where they still value customers.Review fromSteven S

1 starWorst experience ever.I acquired two kittens in ******* and signed up for Vetco's "Kitten Shield Pro" program at $208 apiece. For two cats that came out to $428.82. This program is supposed to include a three visit series, one per month for three months. I had the first shot the day after I got the kittens in ******* with no problem (unfortunately I paid the full amount at this time) and transferred the program to ************ for the remainder of the shots. After setting two appointments, the ************************************ texted me the night before and canceled the appointments and had no availability for over a month. I was able to reschedule several days later with the Farragut store and received a confirmation. The day of the appointments they canceled the appointments and said nothing else is available for over a month. I contacted the Vetco number and they couldn't care less that the appointments had been canceled and said I would just have to wait. Appointments five and six were already scheduled three weeks later and I received an email canceling them one minute after my phone call. THIS ENTIRE PROGRAM IS A SCAM. 1 starIf I could provide less than 1 star, I would. I have been using Petco for my pets needs for years and this year has been an absolute nightmare to deal with them. I was supposed to have one of my autoship orders place mid April. I mailed the new prescription written by my vet April 1st. I ended up calling Petco after my order should have shipped, but the status read "awaiting veterinary approval." I was told a few times they still did not receive my mailed in prescription, then on 4/25 I was told they did receive my prescription, but they marked it as expired. I told them the prescription had been written in March and it was not expired. I was then told that it was an internal error on their part and that they would get it resolved. My autoship order cancelled automatically so I had to place another order for when they got it resolved. On May 2nd I had to call again to check the status as I saw my new order status still pending like the last order placed, I was told this day that all looked good on their end and that my now three orders should process since I had mailed in two more prescriptions in the same envelope. On 5/6, I had to call back again and I demanded to speak to a supervisor as I now had three orders that were just pending and not being processed. The supervisor I spoke with basically told me she could not help me, but she would try to look into it further and she promised I would get a call back. Today 5/21/24, I still have not received a call back from the supervisor and I still have not been able to get two of the orders I need placed to process. Funny enough, they processed one my orders, I had sent two prescriptions in the same envelope and they clearly received them, but they claim they do not have the other prescription and so it has never been processed. I am never doing business with Petco again, it is not worth the amount of time I have spent on the phone with them the last couple of months and still got nowhere in getting my orders processed.Review fromsusan h

1 starI BOUGHT THE YOU AND ME PARROT CAGE OF PETCO'S OWN BRAND AND CORPORATE REFUSES TO SEND ME A LOUSY 5 DOLLAR BAG OF HARDWARE IT WAS MISSING TO PUT IT TOGETHER,AFTER I SPENT 400 DOLLARS. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CLAIMS THST SINCE I BOUGHT IT AT PETCO IN PERSON THEY CAN DO NOTHING TO HELP ME. CUSTOMER SERVICE CLEARLY LOOKS IT UP AND SEE'S I PURCHASED THIS AND STILL REFUSES TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THIS COMPANY ABSOLUTELY CARES NOTHING ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE STORE I BOUGHT IT FROM HAS GREAT EMPLOYEES BUT THEY CAN NOT HELP BECAUSE EVERTHING WITH THE PETCO COMPANY IS RUN SO POORLY. I AM DISGUSTE THAT THEY WANT ME TO RETURN IT AND THEN REORDER ONLINE. THIS IS SIMPLY RIDICULOUS. PETCO IS PETCO WHETHER ONLINE OR INSTORE CUSTOMER SERVIVE IS SUPPOSED TO HELP BUT THEY REFUSE. I SPEND A LOT AT THIS PETCO BUT I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM. WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE USELESS COORPERATION.
