I ordered 3 books from PDIC and paid for them. Now they are trying to charge me $97.00 for something I didnt want. Im not paying for anything else! I want a refund and I dont want that trial item. Initial Complaint 11/05/2022 Complaint Type:Billing/Collection Issues/fraudulent I am echoing the previous complaints here from BBB: I purchased three (3) children's books from PDIC a number of weeks back, paying for them with our credit card. The books arrived, and all was well until today, when we noticed an UNAUTHORIZED credit-card charge for $97.00 from PDIC that occurred at 3AM eastern time last night, thus about midnight. When I tried to reach them by phone, I was directed to respond to them via e-mail, which I have done, and now I must wait for them to respond back. In the meantime, since this was an UNAUTHORIZED charge to my credit card, it borders on fraud, since they took my money without my permission. This MUST STOP! And NOT just with a short apology note to us. How many other people are charged unknowingly, and never notice this bogus fee until a lot of money has been taken by PDIC from unsuspecting people?? I almost had to cancel my credit card because this unauthorized charge, if I rejected it, would have Immediately led to my card's cancellation and all the problems that go with its replacement. PDIC has to be held to account for this FRAUDULENT business activity. If they want someone to sign up for some kind of membership, they MUST be up-front about it, and get peoples' permission for such a charge PRIOR to making the charge! Who in the world do they have on their management team that would authorize such theft?? Thankfully my credit **** caught this charge and notified me. I will warn all other families we know about this PDIC-methodology of taking funds quietly and without prior authorization. After this occurred to me I went to read reviews about this company and there are tons of people they have done this to! Nowhere at the time of ordering their books is it clear or stated that after ordering books from them they will charge a yearly subscription after 30 days of purchase.My orginial order#******* for $37.70.Business Response

I ordered some books from Puppy Dogs and Ice Cream on 10/4/22. I received the books and was happy with that purchase. However today, 11/4/22, I was charged $102.34 for a PDIC Digital Library! I have no idea what this charge is nor did I sign up for it, let alone authorize it! There was absolutely no communication about this charge whatsoever. *** tried contacting the company to be refunded the amount but have not heard back from them. I am writing this so that others are not duped by this company. I simply was trying to by my child 3 Christmas books for approximately $30. After checking out, they added a free trial for their audible service on the invoice for $0.00 and didnt charge me for the books I ordered but a random book for $7. I then come to find out that I need to cancel this within 30 days or I will have a monthly charge of $103. And good luck getting a hold of them. I ended up calling my credit card company and they reversed all charges and blocked any future charges from this vendor.Business Response

I see that you contacted us on 11/3 and our Customer Support Team cancelled your order, cancelled the subscription, and provided a refund for the item. You will never see a charge for a subscription now that it has been cancelled.
We are currently in the process of changing the way the 30-day trial subscription is presented for better visibility when ordering and a clear outline of the terms associated with it.

I have tried several times to contact PuppyDogsandIceCream to no avail. I ordered 1set of books but received 3 sets. I returned 2sets marked RETURN TO SENDER REFUSED unopened. Sent back w/in 30 days. @ $48.71. Also received 1 extra book included in box w returned boxes. $11.94. 2 extra boxes at $48.71. Each. I also was charged $****** x 3 for what I dont know. All in one week. There was no packing slip in the box. No copy of the invoice or anything else. The only proof I have to support this is my bank statement. Then I started getting charged 3 x for what I dont know. $ ****** dates 9-4-22, *****, and another on 9-7-2022 Total charges I expect back is $97.42 for 2 sets of books , $11.94 for single book, 3 unknown charges for $319.40.
