I was charged by PDIC for ****** like the other complaints on October 29 for something I didnt purchase. I had placed an order on 10/4 for three books. Which I received, I did not authorize this purchase. I would like a full refund and feel I was mislead by this company.Business Response

After purchasing books from PDIC books I was charged $103.79 for a product that PDIC automatically placed in my cart and labelled "Free". This is an extremely dishonest business. Even if you go back and read the details of the "Free" product it says $9.99 after the 30 day free trial. So where did $103 come from? Complete lack of integrity from this company which is disappointing considering the subject matter their books claim to cover.I'd give an order number but they never bothered to include one in their "receipt" email.Business Response

On Sept 23/22 I purchased 3x books which totaled over $42 (pricey ****** learned!), now on Oct 22/22 I am being charged $97 for a subscription that I was unknowingly set up for, which seems to be a theme in the complaints on BBB. Shady business practices for sure. I'd like a refund and for this subscription to be canceled immediately, and I won't ever be ordering anything from this dishonest company again.Business Response

You would then receive an email with information on how to access our content or even cancel the free trial. At the end of the free trial you are then charged for the yearly subscription. I understand that you were not aware and I have cancelled the subscription and refunded all charges associated with it. You should see the refund within 3-5 business days. In April I purchased 3 books from Puppy Dogs and Ice Cream. Since then my account has been charged $9.95 for the months (May, June, July, August, Sept and October). I receive an email every month that I would receive a new book, but besides the initial 3 that I ordered I haven't not received any additional books. There is no way to contact the company directly and I have attempted to log in to order my subscription, but I don't have an account with them. This appears to be a scam and I'm not sure how to cancel this subscription or to get reimbursed for money I was charged ($59.70 total) on a I product I have never received.Business Response

I purchased a set of 3 books from this company and they unknowingly signed me up for a 30 day free trial subscription that I did NOT want. They then charged my card for $101.37 to continue a subscription I did not and will never use. Ive been trying to get ahold of the company for a refund with no success. My wife purchased three (3) children's books from PDIC a number of weeks back, paying for them with our credit card. The books arrived, and all was well until today, when we noticed an UNAUTHORIZED credit-card charge for $103.16 from PDIC that occurred at 3AM eastern time last night, thus about midnight in *********. When I tried to reach them by phone, I was directed to respond to them via e-mail, which I have done, and now I must wait for them to respond back. In the meantime, since this was an UNAUTHORIZED charge to my credit card, it borders on fraud, since they took my money without my permission. This MUST STOP! And NOT just with a short apology note to us. How many other people are charged unknowingly, and never notice this bogus fee until a lot of money has been taken by PDIC from unsuspecting people?? I almost had to cancel my credit card because this unauthorized charge, if I rejected it, would have Immediately led to my card's cancellation and all the problems that go with its replacement. PDIC has to be held to account for this FRAUDULENT business activity. If they want someone to sign up for some kind of membership, they MUST be up-front about it, and get peoples' permission for such a charge PRIOR to making the charge! I run my own company, and this kind of PDIC funds-stealing absolutely STUNS me, especially since it's constantly being repeated again and again with hundreds of their customers! Who in the world do they have on their management team that would authorize such theft?? I want my funds returned immediately, and I will warn all other families we know about this PDIC-methodology of taking funds quietly and without prior authorization.Business Response

This charge is for an annual subscription for our mobile app and web portal with animated read-along, our complete digital library (150+ books), coloring books, reading and writing workbooks, etc. You can decide if you want to try it before checkout. Your order came with a 30-day trial but you can cancel the subscription through our help center at any time you want.
We see that you reached out to our customer support team the same day you received a charge for your subscription. We are glad that our support team managed to address all your concerns via chat conversation. We would like to confirm that your subscription has been canceled and you will not face recurring charges for it. Also, our team has updated you on the status of your refund request.
It is true that some people did not realize that there will be a bill after it ends but we do mention that this is a free trial and what will be the amount at the end of the subscription. But if it's ordered by accident then we support all our customers and issue full refunds if they had no intention to purchase this product. We try to resolve any issues with the customers and we always do what's right for them. We always encourage consumers to share any feedback. We are still a young and growing company that is trying to create some quality books and great products that people can use. I purchased a set of 3 books from Puppy Dogs and Ice Cream for $32.35 on Sept 18, 2022. Friday, 10/21/22, I was charged $97 for something I did not purchase. Apparently they sneaked a 30 day, free trial, digital library subscription into my purchase. This free trial comes with a $97 price tag that I had no clue about since I did not authorize this 30 day free trial to their digital library. I have contacted PDIC and have not heard back from them about resolving this issue. I would like a refund and to be removed from this digital library I know nothing about!Business Response

In order to address our customer's issues in a timely manner, we have moved to a help center where customers can raise a ticket to our support team. There is also a chat icon on our page. We checked your case and saw that an email you sent was automatically closed asking to raise a customer support ticket through our help center. But, unfortunately, we do not see any support ticket raised.
We are having an offer going on where we are giving a 30-day free trial of our digital library access to all our customers. We received feedback and reviews from many of our customers that it's a great product and hence we wanted you to try it for the 1st month for free. You can decide if you want to try it before checkout. You can cancel the subscription through our help center at any time you want.
As soon as the purchase was complete an order confirmation email was sent and a separate email was sent with login instructions and how to access the digital library to the same email address used to purchase the books.
