Used StyleSeat often, and ran into a few issues over time but recently have decided to remove the app from my phone because of what happened today, TWICE. StyleSeat does nothing to ensure that clients are not being scammed, it does not ensure that all stylists are licensed, nor does StyleSeat ensure that correct addresses are used (there are stylists listing their locations as P.O. boxes). I made an appointment on 1/16/2023 for today, 1/31/2023 at 10:30 AM. I get to the salon at 10:20, but by 11 AM the stylist is still nowhere to be found. I leave and 2 hours later she texts me, with a BS story I do not believe and didn't even offer to reschedule or offer an apology. Oh, she took my money also. Made FOUR complaints to StyleSeat, have an email saying that I wouldn't be charged, and still got charged. And the audacity of this app to ask for a tip, **** my eggs. So I am frantic because my birthday is on the 2nd. I'm scrambling last minute to find another stylist before the end of the day. Find another stylist and schedule for the same day at 4 PM, she has the slots open. Get to this salon at 3:50 PM, there's a closed sign in the window with one of those clocks that says 'will return at X time'. The time listed on the sign was 3:15 PM. So I wait until 4:20, and nobody shows. Someone else comes to try and get into the same salon, he calls his stylist and the person on the phone says, "Nobody's coming in the rest of today." So immediately file complaints, StyleSeat has not gotten back to me on the second set of complaints. Guess what, I got charged AGAIN. So today I left looking a hot mess, came home looking a hot mess, and got to pay almost $400 to two people for services never rendered, 48 hours before my birthday. Now I'm a hot, pissed-off mess. Not to mention, you can't talk to a human being. Have to go through an app/AI to file a complaint. And StyleSeat's AI is no Suri, it's actually f****** stupid. It has a list of options, none of them being the one you need.Business Response

Dear Styleseat Customer Support,I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from a hairstylist in *******, **. I had scheduled an appointment through your platform and was promised a certain style, however, when I arrived the stylist informed me that they could not deliver on the promised look.Furthermore, I was shocked to find an additional charge on my bill for being an out-of-town client. I booked my lash appointment and paid $103.11 and she never sent an address or responded to me. Actively ignored all messages and calls on instagram and never picked up at the number thats provided on the website. It said if I canceled it would charge me $45 for a cancellation fee. Havent heard back from the site other than them saying I have to contact her to waive the fee but she is ignoring me, I told the site this and havent heard anything back! I spent all the money I had just to get my lashes done for my birthday and this girl is scamming me. Please help I just want my money backBusiness Response

I am a professional that is done doing business with StyleSeat moving forward. I want to make everyone aware of why they should not conduct business with this company or at least know what you are getting yourself into before signing up and paying these monthly fees. StyleSeat sent me this particular client , the client booked an appointment for 8:30am on 12/24, the client cancels their appointment with less than 6hr notice. I have a strict cancellation policy on StyleSeat for this very reason so the client was charged a late cancellation fee. This same exact client booked another appointment on 12/30 this time the client texted me a hour before their appointment saying they was running behind and asked if they would be able to come an hour after the appointment time. With this client being my last client of the day, I agreed to moving the appointment a hour behind so the client could still come. This client NO SHOWS again day before the holiday and this time after asking me to move the appointment time later. I reached out by calling and texting asking if the client was on their way and the client did not respond at all. The next day the client texted me excuses of why they didnt show up to the appointment. First saying their phone died then saying they didnt come because they looked the address of my business up and that my business is located in an apartment building I have no idea why they would get that impression. My business is located inside of a professional medical building where I have my own private suite. Had the client called or text just like they did when they wanted to move their appointment they wouldve known that. I knew it was just a way to try to get a refund for the charges though. I made sure to text the client back very professionally and I forwarded StyleSeat all the proof and documentation. StyleSeat then went ahead and put my account on block giving me a time frame to submit documentation of my personal information my bank statements, personal address, drivers license, and esthetician licenses even though my person info has nothing to do with my business I still went ahead and submitted everything to them. Although my account was under review for few days it still allowed clients to book appointments and pay using the StyleSeat app. I had a client come get an appointment worth $168 on 01/12. StyleSeat charged this client but DID NOT PAY ME THE MONEY. Its shown in my transactions/earnings that the client was successfully charged . But no money is in my payouts so I was never paid for this service. I reached out to StyleSeat and they claim they refunded my client the funds back to their account and it will be there in **** business days. Well its been 10 business days and my client has still not received a refund from StyleSeat. My client has even went as far as showing me the bank statement to prove that StyleSeat has not refunded them any money. Also under the StyleSeat transactions there is no refund listed there it still shows as the card has been charged but no showing that a refund has been issued. StyleSeat has no customer service that you can speak to over the phone about things like this so youre basically out of your money. All this came from a client that StyleSeat sent to me that choose to be upset that they canceled their appointment more than once and was charged. Although I did everything the right way that was asked of me ONE CLIENT COMPLAINT caused this.Business Response

WARNING - FRAUD CHARGES/STYLESEAT. ?? Today I received two email notifications from Styleseat for payments on back-to-back wig installs/wig classes that I 100% NEVER signed up for (I cant even braid). I immediately disputed the nearly $1000 in fraudulent charges through my bank and on Styleseat and removed all cards listed under payment methods! The stylist account that charged me belongs to my old stylist before I moved last year so I contacted him. He said it looks like someone hacked his account and changed the bank info, which may or may not be true. Regardless, the fact that stylist have the ability to create fraudulent appointments and steal from unsuspecting clients without being challenged is beyond me. Im glad I caught it this early BUT THIS SHOULD NOT EVEN BE POSSIBLE.Business Response

I am contesting the charge because the stylist is not located in a salon per her style seat information which indicates she is located in the salon. I was not notified until after I booked my appointment that she was not in a salon. I told her I don't have people come to my house. I don't know her, and she is a criminal. This stylist intentionally advertises that she is in a salon, which is false advertising. Kelsei is a criminal and should be in jail. She fraudulently charged my charge. The stylist stated my card was not charged but still charged my card.Additionally, it would be best if you did not have a fraudulent stylist working with your company. I have sent text messages, but she refuses to respond. When I call the number, someone answers the phone and doesn't say anything. Additionally, I will be filing a police report against Kpthebraider and style seat. I will take legal action against ****** and style seat if my money isn't refunded. As of today she still works with your company and has misleading information to scam people out of their money in her about section. I am asking to be reimbursed for all legal fees and administrative fees due to this issue. You should not have a criminal working with your company.Business Response

I booked an appointment through the Styleseat app and when I went to my appointment the location was in a trailer park with abandoned trailers and it felt unsafe as I was unsure even which trailer to go to or which ones were occupied (she confirms this in her email to me). There were no signs or numbers listed clearly on the trailers. I tried calling the number of the stylist provided three times at the time of the appointment to confirm address, but it would not go through kept saying the ******* customer youre trying to contact is unavailable. Screenshots of my phone call records are in the email as well. Both these things made me feel unsafe to continue with the appointment, tried to reach out to Styleseat saying I felt unsafe and they decided to include the merchant in the conversation anyway. Stylist refused refund, StyleSeat app is saying its at the discretion of the stylist. They are labeling it as a "No Show" but I did show up, or how else would I have known there are abandoned trailers? I tried calling the stylist and contacting style seat multiple times (screenshots in attached pdf) and as I said there was no way of contacting either of them. Style seat does not have a phone number for customer service and the Stylist's phone number was disconnected.Business Response

I had an appt with Styelseat in which I had to cancel to due illness . (covid ) I called and left a message on the stylist voicemail and email the company a copy of the doctor ********* if I physically could it is against CDC guidelines to go out in public . Because you were aware of this before canceling, your Pro decided to charge you and your bank decided that this was the correct decision based on their findings. I booked an appointment using StylesSeat platform for Thursday Jan 19 at 3:30. I arrived at the Professional place of business to get my hair done and waited for 30 mins. Professional never arrived. I was informed that the Professional hasnt been at work in a few weeks. Now Style Seat is attempting to charge my CC for service that is not rendered. I attempted to cancel online but kept saying to contact the Professional by her phone number. I did and Professional never responded until the following day stating she was locked up and just got out of jail. She also attempted to cancel the appointment on her end but it would not allow her and she informed me to contact Style Seat which I already did on Thursday by submitting a ticket for issues with appointment and payment. Ive been using the app StyleSeat as a professional now for almost a month. And within this timeframe StyleSeat has taken well over $200 from either my account directly or from the payments from Clients that book with me and they call it a new client fee. on top of paying the transaction fees for every time I want an instant, payout or fees for promotions, that I did not ask for.On top of this, I already pay the $35 a month subscription to be able to maneuver the payments the way I need to with StyleSeat. I had a client new to the app book with me and even though I correctly entered the last four digits of her phone number to prove that I did know her, Styleseat would not except it and only excepted the approval to charge my card anyway! I have multiple screenshots about this and Im extremely fed up now to the point where I feel like if Im making good business, Im being penalized by getting all of my hard earned money taken. *** reached out countless times to the StyleSeat support system for answers and have received absolutely no acknowledgement. I feel with me spending this much money there should be adequate room for support for professional that need to either speak to somebody or need some sort of resolution. At this point Im extremely fed up, Im ready to cancel my subscription and Im on the verge of filing a lawsuit if I dont hear some reconciliation VERY soon. I ABSOLUTELY HATE STYLESEAT AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE!!!!Business Response
