Had an appointment with stylist *********************************** on 1/5/22. Stylist was late for my appointment, had me wait over an hour on purpose, and I never received my service. To make matters worst, she fraudulently charged ME a LATE FEE. Styleseat was no help and I had to go through my own bank for the refund, which has been handled. What I dont agree with, is Styleseat has yet to give me - a LOYAL customer - the opportunity to leave a review on my experience with this stylist. She called me racial slurs, demeaned me, AND attempted to steal money. The least Styleseat should do is give me the opportunity to share my experience!!!! Other customers should be aware who they are booking with prior to dealing with this stylist.Business Response

First, we'd like to apologize for the experience that you had with that Pro. We'd love for you to have the opportunity to book with a much better Pro. Also, we have the ability to open a dispute on your behalf with the Pro and issue a refund. If you file a dispute with your bank, we lose the ability to issue a refund on our end. We took a deeper look into this and we weren't able to locate any correspondence from your name of email address. Please provide us with your email address that you reached out to us from and we'd love to issue you a credit to book with another Pro in your area.

On the 9th of January which was a Sunday StyleSeat sent me a client so the client was 20 min late an I explained to him how long the process would be so he left an was very rude at that so I have a strict policy so I get the service fees but StyleSeat done went into my bank account an took the money back out an when I tried to contact them they blocked me off StyleSeat mind you this is not the first time they played with my money I don't want to do business with them anymore I'm just wanting people to know how they are an the fees now are rediculous make you feel like your working for a few little dollars an they have no phone number all emeails an it's very unprofessionalBusiness Response

In Jan. 2023 I attempted to schedule an appointment with my stylist. I was charged a fee for doing so. I was aware of that fee. I decided to change the services so I cancelled and rebooked for the same day and time. I was charged another fee. That makes two fees. I changed the services again so I cancelled and rebooked for the same day and time. I was charged a third fee. I am aware of the fee for booking appointments. What I was not expecting was for there to be a fee charged for each time I changed the services, even though I kept the same day and time. I contacted the company twice to request refunds for the second and third fees. They declined. I will be canceling this app after I enter this complaint, and I will be looking for alternative ways of scheduling appointments with the stylist I've been seeing for decades. Please warn others of this company's unscrupulous practices.Business Response

On January 2, 2023, I booked an appointment with a stylist by the name of *************************** for the 6th of January. The Stylist requested that i sent her a $80 deposit to secure my appointment and I have done so. After Ive done that, the communication between us have been halted,however I continued texting her that our appointment is coming up. The day of the appointment, I have went to the location she has provided through the website and it turns out to be a hair salon that shes never even been employed at. *** called the stylist numerous times just to be sent to voicemail. After 20 minutes of waiting, *** realized that this was a scam and Ive reported this to my bank. Later in the evening,the website StyleSeat have charged my card for $160 for my appointment even though there was NO business transaction has taken place,not to mention that Ive deleted my account with this website 30 minutes prior. This website is polluted with con artists and they dont even help you in any way to get your money back nor can you publically call out the ones who have scammed you. Never will I use this site again for any reason. This girl needs to be found and her business needs to be shut downBusiness Response

I contacted the stylist for the exact address of the salon since it was not provided on her website. The stylist indicated that she was only doing travel appointments and was charging a travel fee of $50 -$100. None of this information was provided at booking. I am requesting the cancellation fee to be waived. I am very disappointed.Business Response

Booked appt on 12/23 for medium knotless braids for 12/27, sent text on 12/26 to confirm location with stylist. Was informed stylist was a mobile stylist. This was not listed anywhere on her page. Stylist texted me and told me she would cancel w/o charging me. I told her to go ahead and cancel my appt. She canceled my appt. I continued to try and text her because I paid her $75 through Venmo as a deposit which she claims is nonrefundable which is not listed anywhere. Stylist never replied. 2hr later she made 2 new appt (one for knotless braids small and another for large feed in) I did not approve of and canceled one and charged me $155 for the other. My bank texted me and informed me she was trying to charge $574 to my card. Tried to text stylist about this but she blocked me. ******* then lies and tells me that I booked an appt for me and my daughter. This is not true I do not have a daughter and have proof that I only booked an appt for myself. I dont see how any of this is legal. Stylist charged my debit card on file for an appt that I did not make or approve of. Then tries to charge my card $574 luckily my bank stopped it and marked it as fraud. My bank states that a total of 10 charges were attempted on my debit card. She then proceeded to charge $300 x2, $155 x3, and $38 x2. Only one payment went through of $155. I believe this stylist is scamming her clients or she is confusing me with another client because she keeps saying I booked 2 services one for me and my daughter which is not the case. Im looking to get refunded $155. Please help. Stylist did not properly make it known that she was a mobile stylist. Her profile mentions nothing about being mobile and says she is located in **********, **. Even when texting stylist she never mentioned being mobile. I was not properly informed of her services if I was told she was mobile I wouldnt have made this appt because I was visiting family and knew this would not be possible. Please help.Business Response

I am a professional that uses StyleSeat but wont be any longer! I had a haircut on the 12/22 and it is now 12/26 & still havent received the money I earned from the haircut. Everyday the payout date goes up. I was suppose to be paid the next day 12/23 then it switched to 12/26 now its saying 12/27. This app is a scam and I need my money!!Business Response

On Thursday, 12/22/22 I booked an appointment on StyleSeat with a provider for a service I wanted performed on Friday 12/23/22. My card was placed on file and I successfully booked the appointment. What I didn't realize at the time of booking, was that this provider did not provide an an address to the location of where they would be performing the service. I texted, called, and directly messaged the provider a few hours before my appointment was scheduled to start on 12/23/22 to try and obtain their address since I hadn't heard from them or received any address info in my confirmation emails; no response from the provider and the number was disconnected. I really needed the service performed, so while I was waiting to hear back from the provider, I quickly tried to find a new appointment with a different provider. I was able to locate one and quickly booked the appointment via StyleSeat. Again, I saw that this provider didn't have an address present so I texted them asking them to provide this for me since my appointment would be later that day and I was driving from afar and needed to know where I was going. The provider texts me back saying that they aren't even located in my city currently. I was SHOCKED. I asked them if they could cancel the appointment for me since I wasn't able to via StyleSeat given the appointment was scheduled in less than 24 hours. They said they would look into it, and sent me a link to do so. When I clicked on the link to cancel, StyleSeat informed me I would be charged a 25% late cancellation fee of the total service for doing this ($22.50). When I informed the provider of this and told her it wasn't fair I had to pay the fee when I had planned on coming to the appointment, she blocked me. I also had to cancel the previous appointment I made on 12/22/22 and too, had to pay a ($30.00) late fee because the provider literally ghosted me.HOW IS THIS FAIR?Business Response

I am rejecting this response because StyleSeat failed to penalize the two providers that scammed me / took money from me and never provided a service to me that I fully intended on attending. Yes, StyleSeat eventually refunded me after a very lengthy and unnecessary process, but it is NOT fair that I as a provider cannot leave a review for these providers given the way the StyleSeat appointment/booking system is set up. There is NO evidence by the StyleSeat Team that these providers were penalized for their actions in any way.

I made an appointment on Styleseat as I have many times. I was charged $120 as soon as I made the appointment. Two days later, after my appointment was completed, I was charged $130. Make this make sense. I have plans to travel for the holidays and this does not sit well with me, knowing that I have been charged on two separate occasions for a silk press. The first time I used Styleseat, I was double charged but the money was returned the same day. I contacted the stylist and he said he only got paid once. Styleseat has taken $250 from my account for a service that was $130 instead of $120 because I had a trim. So they have charged me twice. I just want my money back but I cannot speak to anyone about it. This is FRAUD! I find it weird that we cannot speak to a person but once we tell BBB, a real person responds. I want a refund and I will be done with Styleseat for good. Had it not happened before, I might feel differently. This has to be made right.Business Response

12/22/22 @330 was the appointment time with ********* 12/21/22 825pm she finally sent me the address to her business after me asking on 3 occasions starting from a week out. She also added that it was not a Solon it is her apartment and they she could not wash my childs hair because her washer broke and she wont have towels. She gave me the option to cancel without being charged a cancellation fee. I told her I would see if I can find a way to shampoo his hair first but since it was already so late and he had school I couldnt. 12/21/22 ****am I told her I could not get it washed and if she couldnt I will use the option to cancel. She then told me it was too late since I was within the 24hr period which that period already began before she told me of her issue. She then refused to cancel my appointment and I never attended and also booked with another person last minute to get my childs hair done but styleseat is attempting to change me as if I attended it. I wrote styleseat several times prior to the appointment and they said there is nothing they can do.Business Response
