This is incredible. This happened to me twice! Last year the fitbit stopped working right after the warranty and I had to buy a new one, I got the premium year subscription. This year the subscription automatically renewed and a couple weeks later the new fitbit died.I then was researching online because once maybe but twice, no way and I see tons of this same complaint. Why doesn't the BBB do something about this? Some kind of warning at the very least. I feel like has class action suit written all over it. What a disgrace such a 'popular' item is a total SCAM!

I was a Fitbit customer since 2013, owning several devices. I purchased a Charge 5 in Dec **************************************************** June 2023, Fitbit issued an update that completely bricked my device, a problem numerous other customers have reported. Customer Support provides only a script of standard troubleshooting steps that are ineffective. If those don't work, they dust their hands and tell you to buy a new device. They MIGHT offer a 35% discount, but will not replace the device if you are out of warranty. So, I have to replace a device that I DID NOT BREAK, on my own dime. Very poor business practice, which is why many customers are leaving Fitbit. Buyer beware.

I'm on my FOURTH Charge 5 in two years.......that's right.....4th. And again, as the other 3 did....it has died. This time, in a "record" one month and 7 days. I just bought this one July 7th (delivered 12 July through ****** And after a lengthy call to "Customer Support" (that's a BIG misnomer), I got an email tonight telling me they won't warranty the slightly more than one month old device....because I bought it through ***** Anyway, definitely some kind of HUGE quality control problem As I went thru *****and my wife is on her second one (yep, first one died after about a year). I've had enough.....moved on to another brand I bought on Amazon. DO NOT BUY A FITBIT CHARGE 5, and if you're foolish enough to do so.............then don't buy through **** or any other place they say they won't warranty your purchase. Best bet, STAY AWAY FROM FITIBIT...................

My Charge 5 stopped charging back in June. I went through the entire process of replacing it, since I'd only had the device for less than 6 months and it was still under warranty. Did all the paperwork, shipped the defective Charge 5 back to them, and here it is, approaching the end of August and still have not received the replacement. I've contacted customer support over and over and my case "gets escalated" and I hear nothing. I call/chat again and same thing. Today I get told they're experiencing delays in the warehouse and my shipment has been delayed because of it. Why wasn't I told this 2 weeks ago? Absolutely ridiculous! I will never buy another FitBit product again.

I bought a Fitbit Ionic watch and received notification that the watch have a fault, that I need to register and a refund will be paid out for the watch. Since Aug 2022 my watch was dead which I can't use and the refund is not coming out. I phone them every second week (international calling) with every time the same answer that they tried to pay it out but my info is in correct or something have changed. The people helping on Fitbit side told me to change my email address as mine (which is a business email) is not working and now this is the reason every time I phone that my email is incorrect. I phone constantly and every time they just escalate my claim but still nothing. My phone bills are now more expensive than the watch from the beginning and still NO answer as to when l will receive my refund. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BYING A FITBIT !!!!

I am utterly disappointed in Fitbit and their products!! I received an email to replace my Ionic last year. I followed the procedures and received my Sense replacement. I received the face and had to wait a few extra weeks for the bands in order to actually wear the device. I had to replace my band within a few months because the notch broke. A year goes by and all of a sudden the screen pops off. I did not hit anything or bump any thing but the face was just hanging on by a wire. I contacted support and they informed me that my warranty had just expired! I had to pay for an extended warranty in order to get the screen replaced. I did so because I actually like my Fitbit Sense! This happened in May. Here it is 3 months later and now my Sense is stuck in a reset loop. I followed the steps in the forum and even contacted customer service (who was very rude and condescending) and they tried to walk me through different steps with NO luck. I was informed by ****** that I have to wait for the email to follow the steps on replacing my Sense. I get the email and get this...It's NOT in warranty so they want me to pay 35% off the retail price to replace the replacement!! Also, to add insult to injury I contacted the extended warranty place that Fitbit uses, Square Trade, and they also informed me that I had to pay ANOTHER deductible to replace the replacement that was just replaced 3 months ago! If this isn't a money scheme I don't know what is! I am beyond disappointed in Fitbit, their products and their customer service (oh, I forgot to mention I was disconnected from the chat with ******************************* before I called directly!) I was a loyal customer for several years (5+) and have owned multiple devices. After this year, I will NOT be purchasing another product from them!

I purchased a Fitbit 5 on July 31, 2023 for ****** and tried to buy the promo premium subscription do $30 a year but was not able to because I already purchased the premium service on my Fitbit 4 and it doesnt expire until March ****. I then was told it was back ordered until 8/11/23 and would ship then. Now it has changed to back order to 9/8/24 and they are running a promotion for the Fitbit 5 at ******. I asked them to give me an additional year of my Premium subscription that I already pay for so it would expire on March ****. They were not able to do this. This company runs on bad faith and oils not accommodate a simple task to better their relationship with me. I guess this tells me to move over to Apple.

I've been getting the runaround on a replacement for my versa 2 that is in warranty. My replacement order was approved on July 26th. Here is it, August 9th, and I have not heard anything! I have chatted with support, they tell me to contact another division of support via chat, who tells me that they can't find my replacement order even though I provide a replacement order number. So, I get told to call the main support number. I go through the prompts and I'm either hung up on when I select the option to check the status of a replacement or I am given a false website to, again, chat with a support agent that, again, has no record of my replacement order. This supposed warranty is a LIE. I'm chatting with another support agent as I type this and I'm STILL getting the runaround!!!!!

BUYERS BEWARE! I purchased a Fitbit Ionic and was notified that it had been recalled and to return the device. After the item was received I was sent an email stating I would receive a $299 refund. The item was returned back in April 2023. It's now August 2023 and I'm still waiting on the refund. I've called multiple times and each time I'm told this was a worldwide recall and they are backlogged. Just excuse after excuse. I'm almost chalking this up as a loss and I'll never purchase anything from Fitbit every again.
