      I used to work for Square and I have to say this is the most racist company I ever worked for. They laid me off due " budget cuts" but I was the only one laid off and before I got laid off, they hired some people and told me they are better, but I was not let go for performance issues. They like to hire their kind and I mean mostly Asians. I was the only black person on my team and was the only one let go. They extended my contract in June ********************** July 2022, there was two new people that were hired after me but somehow, they singled me out. I told them how I felt, and they just said its budget cuts. Well, how do you hire new people before letting me go and I just found they hired more people. I feel like after my manager made a comment that I dress in black every day, which I do not. Only thing black on me every day is the color of my skin. I told her how I felt, and she acted like she didn't remember. I reached out to her manager, and she asked my manager why I am reaching out, So I lied about the reason. This was in June around the time of Juneteenth right after my contract got extended. Well next thing I know I am being let go. Again, it was documented it was not for performance but for budget cuts, so why was I the only one to be let go? I was never written up or any type of disciplinary actions taken against me. I think she knew I was trying to talk to someone about my issue and found a way to let me go. I asked if the meeting that my manager made the comment are recorded and she said no, I find that odd. I been in hundreds of Zooms like meetings, and all are recorded for issues like this, but I guess this is just bad luck for me. Even my teammates thought I was being targeted. I would suggest clients use any payroll platform but Square/Block.

      Received a square up card with my name on it to my address and with a business name I have never heard of. Called woman I spoke with wouldnt tell me anything and said she would escalate the problem. How are you going to escalate anything when you dont know my addresss or anything and just my phone number asked for email which I did not give as I havent asked for anything from this company and they wont tell me anything.

      Square *** is deaf. Square *** is too big to solve any problem any individual might have. Square *** is busy buying other business and getting fatter and heavier on people like me who only spends few dollars with them a month but funny part they won't refuse my few dollars too. I bought a Domain, paid for my purchase, paid for that that the next month also, i signed up for the monthly payment. only used my domain few times, one day i log back to work on my domain which i bought from WEEBLY to begin with boom... everything is Square. now i don't have any access to my Domain and wants me to transfer my own Domain from WEEBLY to them. story goes on and on.I was migrated to this country. No matter what, US is known for its fairness. Hopefully BBB or someone will resolve my issue.

      I have been with square for over 8 years; hardly used the app. Mostly here and there. All is fine until suddenly today they send me an email stating that my account is closed and holding the money Collected from a client. They collect and got the money and got their fees but closed my account with no discussion or phone call on why or why and they dont want to talk to me and cant get my money for 90 days. I believe its illegal

      I have used Square for payment processing for the past 7 years without issue and just in the last 6 months Square deactivated one of my locations and held over $3,000.00 until I provided private details of my business that Square had no right to ask for! Just a few weeks later Square held funds in the amount of $1,500.00 at another location with no notification. each time Square held funds for up to 2 weeks. These practices are in poor business form and in my opinion criminal! I have since moved to a card processor through my bank and am actually saving money on fee's!!!!

      My husband just started using Square and on the first transaction of $2000.00 for his legit LLC business, square for no reason has froze the account. We have turned in every thing that they has asked us for and they still haven't released the funds. They company is fraudulent and needs to be investigated ASAP. They have been holding on to the money for almost a month now with no real reason as to why. Their customer service is a joke and won't help you at all. I see from this website that We are not the only one with this problem. This is ridiculous. Someone needs to contact us about this.

      Ive used square on and off for some years with a few different businesses. I currently have two businesses with square accounts. I had a client pay through a square invoice with an ACH transfer. The money was available in my square account at 3:03am EST. By 6:44am EST I received an email stating my square account was deactivated and I would receive my funds in 90 days. There was no reason given in the email, I emailed them back three times, I spent the day on the phone with customer service. I received a lot of false information from 3 different reps until I finally got a person who was more honest than the rest. Still, no help on figuring out why my account was deactivated. This was two weeks worth of pay from a job we completed. From everything Ive read, we havent broken any of squares rules. We are a small family business and not being able to access two weeks of pay is crippling to our business and lives. I will not be doing business with them for either of my companies and telling every business owner I know to stay away from square.

      I reported that payments to my account from charge cards never reached my bank and went to a bank I have no account at. After 7 days I still have not received my money. Another charge recently the same thing happened. They are not doing their due diligence!! Ive lost $2,000 because they are not being responsive.

      Square charged me for 6 months for their payroll subscription that I had paused. These were unauthorized.After calling in March to see why this was happening the rep said this was a glitch on their end and that I would need to close my current payroll account and open a new one in order to stop being charged.Ridiculous. Why would a business owner want to go through that hassle.I told them I wouldn't be able to do this at the time (it was the middle of tax season on top of everything) and that I would be calling back in a few months to get a refund for those months.I started trying to resolve this 3 weeks ago. Since then I have wasted about 5 hours of time between emails and phone calls to try and simply speak to a manager after trying to get 3 separate reps up to speed which when I did admitted that they could not authorize refunds greater than 2 months and that I would need to speak to a manager.Fast forward to today after being on hold for 90 minutes I finally speak to a manager who tells me Square has a hard 3 month cap policy on refunds. She gave me a refund for 3 months and I will be disputing the other charges with my bank.I've been using Square for nearly 6 years. No customer should have to go through what I did to get a $200 refund. But it shows you where their priorities lie, and it's not with the ones paying their bills.So with that, I will gladly give my money and time to whichever your competitors actually value their customers.
