I think this business is a scam. They claim they only take a small amount from you when you sell with them. How are they taking over 800$ from me. Its outrageous Im selling a lower end bag. The lady talking to me never should have said youll make money off of it. I actually lost 600$. This place is a scam.

Extremely poor customer service and it has taken more than 5 weeks to even get pricing , and has not yet listed. Tried to talk to a *** but pretty much impossible. There are so many sites now that offer far better commission and timing throughout the process.Dont use TRR.

I just don't understand this company, ***. I have never been given any reason why they keep cancelling my orders. I have reviewed their policy and none of them apply to me. I have called and nobody can explain what is going on. One day I am making purchases and then the next time I cannot make a purchase. I have never claimed I didn't receive an order, all my payments have gone through. So, why let me make a purchase just to cancel it and why can't anyone help me with this situation? I would like some resolution as to why I am having this issue with my account that customer service doesn't seem to have the ability to answer. Also, why allow me to even sign into my account if there is a problem? If for some unknown reason you do not want me to shop on your website, why not just close my account and give me a reason why? I don't want to shop where I am not wanted as a customer.

The worst selling platform which exists. They sold my brand new bottle new bottega sneakers for 100$ and they will send me 20. Taking 80%??? Thieves. Miserable.

Do not sell with them. They lie to your face and when they get your goods they have full control. Like clearly saying we got you. Nothing you can do about anything. They price low, lose your items and if you want it back you have to pay.

I purchased a paperclip bracelet in August of 2024 and one of the links broke in Jan 2025. I took it to a jeweler who informed me the piece was defective and the links were too thin and the seams were separating inside. It is unrepairable. Therealreal simply said too bad.

I returned two items that I ordered, and they were received in their warehouse on 1/22/25. I immediately received notification that one of my items was processed, and a return was issued. I never received notification on the second item. I purposely sent them separately, as I didn't want a mix-up. The refund on the first item, seven days later, has yet to hit my credit card. The second item has yet to be checked in. I have contacted The Real Real by Chat several times, and twice by phone, which isn't conveniently listed on their website. The Chat sessions yielded nothing, and were a waste of time. During the first conversation by phone, I was informed that the company was having issues with their banking system, which, honestly, isn't my problem. Additionally, the representative could not tell me why my item (I received email verifications, as well as tracking verifications from ***, that both items were received) was not checked in, and even if they had it in their possession. I was promised an email in the morning to provide a status update, which was NEVER received. The second call was not much better than the first, but he stated that I hopefully will have a refund by the weekend, and again confirmed that they were having banking issues. I have purchased several items from this company, but this experience has totally soured my opinion of it. What company has "banking" issues that makes them unable to conduct business transactions?

I purchased a ************* purse for my daughter for Christmas. I bought the purse at the end of October and it was wrapped when I received it. When my daughter opened it on Christmas morning she was overjoyed! As she took the purse out of The Real Real bag, she straightened out the strap and the strap immediately broke off of the purse. The website lists fair condition as used with visual scuffs but fully functional and no malfunctions. I contacted The ********* to discuss the situation. The purse should have been marked as is and not fair. I was told that I could consign with them, but that was all they could do. I then repeated that I bought this and didnt open until Christmas morning, and that it was incorrectly labeled for the condition in which it was received. The representative told me that I should have inspected it when it arrived and again, I could consign with them. So, I paid them for a bag that was labeled incorrectly according to their own definition, then told I could consign the bag with them (for less than I bought it for of course, and allow them to make a profit off of me a second time on the same bag, while I lose money and the item!)The representative was condescending and unhelpful. I warn all users NOT to purchase from The Real Real, and if you do, do not expect to receive what you pay for, or the value in the expected condition. My husband has bought items there in the past, and I thought they had been good investments, only to learn he purchased new. The Real Real is now notorious for this type of transaction, and a quick social media search will also inform you that many items are now counterfeit. Again, DO NOT purchase from this retailer!1 Star rating is too generous!

I was so thrilled to find the bag I was desperately searching for an upcoming event on the real real. Condition was listed as Very Good Details:Minor creasing at flap underside; minor scratches at hardware I opened and inspected the bag the day I got it to find the leather on the crossbody in terrible shape pealing in multiple locations on both sides, the hardware was also more the minor scratches. I contacted support with in hours of receiving my purchased and was told I would have an answer in 24 hours I did not, I have now contacted them 3 more times and again have been told I will be contacted in 24-48hours. The event is in 2 weeks not leaving much room to get a replacement. As a reseller myself Im beyond disappointed. I list every flaw and take detailed photos of any and all flaws. Not only was the flaw not mentioned in the description but no photos of the flaw leather on the strap were showed .

Im giving a one-star review based on a recent experience I had, which The RealReal should openly disclose to their customers. BE AWARE they will over price certain items, even if its currently available on the designer/company website. I reached out to them regarding a black ***** ***** sweater that was marked as very good condition (i.e., not new, signs of wear, but no major damage). After I purchased it, I realized the same sweater was available online for $195 and TRR was charging $225.for a used very good version of it. I thought maybe it was an error and they estimated the retail price incorrectly. Turns out they are aware they over priced it and not willing to come down on the cost. This is understandable for a rare collectors item, but a used sweater that is currently available online and doesnt even have the tags on? Thats just blatantly scamming your customers and hoping they dont notice. The *** employee I was working with was Mus and he/she spoke like a robot - first they said theres nothing they can do, then offered $25 off, then $50, then sent me a return slip so they can sell it to someone else for $225. Really disappointing to learn that I cant trust their pricing, and theyre basically scalping high street brands. I love shopping with them, and you can find a good deal, but on the other end, theyre also stealing. F them for that. If youre advertising consignment prices, dont price higher than retail ESPECIALLY when its available still. FYI this is also the case for readily available Khaite belts (and Im sure many other things).
