This company is a joke. They will close your account the day before you are supposed to receive your direct deposit with no alert of any kind. I never received an email, letter, or phone call that my account would be closed. Now my direct deposit will be rejected because I dont have an account and can take up to 3 business days to be received by the employer and then however long it will take them to reprocess for a different bank. Now I will not receive my paycheck until at least next week. If I had received some kind of alert letting me know prior I would have worked with my HR department to have the money paid to a different bank. This has really screwed me and my family over. Also, it took several calls for me to even be able to talk to a person. The automated system kept hanging up on me. I am astonished by the lack of professionalism shown by SOFI and will never recommend them to anyone. For your sanity, STAY AWAY FROM SOFI!!!SoFi

My account was hacked and no one would let me know anything thats going on. They first told me 10 days and it would be settled then day 14 came and no one would tell me anything or unlock my account. Now at day 15 my claim has been closed and no fraud was detected and they will not refund my $924.58. No one is helping and no one is going to fix the account.SoFi

This company froze my account with $500 in it in 2020. When I called to understand the problem they told me that there was suspected fraud and I would have to wait for a review to be completed before the funds would be released. Honestly I forgot about the account for several years, I got a statement in my email one day and realized the account was still open, so being older and wiser I went about trying to get the funds out and close down the account. I contacted them in early August of 2023 and was informed that the review still was not completed, after 3 years! Long story made short it took 3 months of going back and forth with their so-called customer service and threatening to get the attorney general involved and further legal action before they finally concluded their review and released the funds and closed the account. Their customer service is atrocious and will only give the runaround. They are quite honestly the worst company Ive ever dealt with.. I work in finance and would never recommend this company to anyone. Absolutely horrible. Stay away and put your money with a safer and more reputable business.SoFi

I was a new account. Signed up to transfer funds to my alternative bank. Made a transfer. No problem. Second transfer, account frozen. Called them. One hour later, no explanation.Their ID confirmation failed due to me wearing a hat when they demanded a selfie and copies of ID. Forced to wait 24 hours to try ID verification again. Waited. Called and passed ID verification. Support at SOFI stated not sure how long it would be until I had account access to my money. In this case, 55k. I cannot pay my bills! Now 2 days later, account still frozen. I told SOFI. Support that I authorized all account transfers. They demanded to know why I was using SOFI? I stated for checking and savings and auto deposits. *** called my attorney and the police. They could not understand why SOFI didnt just call me and ask if I authorized the transfers that I set up with SOFI? Still no access to my funds for expenses. No payments are late. I cannot wait for account access to cancel and warn my friends who use SOFI! Im hurt because I am a huge SOFI shareholder and supporter of SOFI historically. What a huge disappointment that theyve stolen my money. By stolen I mean that they are making money off of my 55k and I have no access! Avoid SOFI at all cost!SoFi

Ive been with this bank for just a few months. I deposited a check and they froze my account. Its been almost a week and the security team is an absolute joke, they arent aware of the full extent of the issue and told me all I can do is just wait for the review to which they have no idea how long it will take. One even ended the call on me when I was not done asking questions which was very unprofessional. If the review team is so backed up on other cases why is SoFi lacking on fixing this problem? Find a better solution to this issue. Hire more people, have the review team actually contact people directly and not just leave people in the dark. People have bills to pay for and for them to freeze ones account is ridiculous. All I want is my account I be unfrozen so I can move my money to a more reliable bank.SoFi

I applied for, and was approved for, a banking account with SoFi in October 2023. After completing the arduous verification process I was approved for an account. I then set up connections to my other online accounts and the auto deposit of my paycheck, etc. Without warning or explanation they notified me that they closed my account and blocked access. I called three times before being able to talk to a representative about it. They provided no additional details as to why my account was canceled. But he told me I could re-apply, which of course I won't be doing.SoFi

This bank will never fail to disappoint if you want to find one, I've had over $500 in fraud charged to my card and they have the audacity to ask me for additional evidence of a STOLEN CARD. The logic behind their statement baffles me and this is from a back office team who does not even speak with their customers unlike *****, Amex, Discover, and many others. I have never seen such an unorganized and unprofessional bank such as this one. They'll get you on the phone in less than a minute because every customer service agent that is there is about as useless as the manager and in which case I will add that the managers are there just to take money from the company budget because they serve the same standing ground as the customer services reps the only difference is their title. I also will add that they just review the account, something literally anyone can just do by opening their app, speaking of the chat function on their website and app is a hit or miss and mainly a miss, you can never get the chat to work and when you do the chat is majorily delayed regardless of how perfect your WIFI or device is. If I asked you to send me evidence that you lost your card, someone finds it and uses money that you never authorized in the first place then decides not to give it back to you because they don't find any errors in that, tell me how would you feel? I can only imagine the upper chains in this bank are just pigs in suits and the *** and executives can most likely just fire their under chain and leave it to a system to run this bank because it doesn't even make sense why customer service and even worse management exists if all they are going to do is hang up on you and ignore your requests when you do look for a supervisor. Then they won't return your phone calls, I'm in absolute astonishment with the unprofessionalism here and for anyone reading this, if you wanna lose money and have disappointment please just go to a casino, atleast you'll lose money having fun.SoFi

I opened an account thinking I could deposit my money and start building I treat. They have been holding my funds for over a week with no access to my funds. Why should I have to wait so long to use my own funds that I have deposited. They dont give you straight answers either when you call them for a status. I honestly have no been happy with their services. My funds are just sitting in account that Im not able to use. Biggest mistake I have made. Just give me my money so I can take it somewhere else trustworthy.SoFi

Sofi won't allow me to access my account they took my email option to log in off I need my money they won't help to unlock my account that I've been using just fine until I changed my password I can't pay my bills because I decided to put money on this card.
