Ive had an absolutely terrible experience with SoFi banking. Their customer service is by far the worst Ive dealt with. I requested to speak to a supervisor, and the manager flat-out refused to get on the phone with me, saying they "werent going to do anything about the issue." Everything takes twice as long to complete compared to other banks, and they seem to put up more barriers than any other online bank, especially compared to Chime. The app itself is a disasterconfusing, clunky, and completely unhelpful. When transferring money to a linked account, theres no indication of how long it will take before you confirm the transaction, and sometimes it takes up to a week to process. I've finally had enough and am closing my account to go back to Chime full-time. Save yourself the frustration and avoid SoFi.SoFi

Beware of Sofi Personal Loans, especially if your are sent to them by Credit Karma. Ineffective online application system and unresponsive customer service. Try another company with a better reputation.SoFi

I received a debit card from this company/bank and I linked it with my regular bank and the very next day I received a strange email I did not understand so I went into my account online and noticed a amount of $500 and a amount of $1000 had magically switched from my regular bank into a SoFi checking account and I did not do that!!! $500 had already been sent to some email address that I did not recognize and I did not make that transaction of taking money out of my account or sending it to anybody. I was able to transfer back the $1000 into my regular bank but it was too late for the $500 and this was August 9, 2024 this day. Im still fighting to get my ******************************************** from whoever made the transaction and took the money and whoever was able to take money out of my bank and put it into the SoFi account from where it was taken. Surely theres a way to track some of this to at least know that I did not do any of it and maybe find out who did?! I feel like I am getting the runaround and I call every few days and I keep sending emails because I will never forget this or stop trying to get my money back. I work hard for my money and I cant afford to have $500 stolen from me! I will never do business again, nor and I will spread the word everywhere what happened to me!SoFi

They did a hard pull on my credit and then claimed that my paystubs were not sufficient for verifying my employment and wanted me to send a very informal list of questions to my employer and have my employer email it to them. Extremely frustrating.SoFi

It seems like they have some good products, but theres no point in having them if you cant use them. They restricted my checking account for depositing a check that CLEARED. *** called four times now, and they just told me the review team is looking at it and that they cant give me a timeframe for when I can get access to my cash. They said that they needed the contact info for the person who gave me the check, and I gave it to them, and told the person that SoFi would be reaching out. Its been a whole day that I havent had access to any of my money, and the person who gave me the check is yet to hear from anyone. They reached out to their credit union about it and they said they thought I was being scammed! Better yet, on this last call they asked me for MORE info about other unrelated transactions. A waste of time and loss of access to my money, I have food and bills to pay for!SoFi

They did a hard inquiry on my credit at the beginning before verifying my income it took them a week to say I wasnt approved yet I have excellent credit , make good money and never missed a payment.SoFi

I've been banking with SoFi for a while, never had a problem, only upsides. Recently applied for a home loan and worked with Loan officer ***********************, from the start of the process to the end, **** was extremely helpful and knowledgeable through the whole process, was very responsive and very quick to answer any questions I had, and was able to provide all documentation in a timely manner. I definitely give 5/5 excellent service.SoFi

I seldom utilized this bank account, but after my primary bank was compromised, I needed to transfer funds to cover my rent. While attempting to send money via *****, I accidentally selected the option to send money to a friend, prompting me to contact customer service for assistance in canceling the transaction. Due to SOFI's daily limit of $1,000, I had to divide my payment. Once I canceled the erroneous transaction, the funds were promptly returned to my account, allowing me to pay my landlord. However, on Monday afternoon, I received a notification indicating that my account was restricted, leading me to reach out to the bank for clarification. Unfortunately, I was informed that they could not provide any details, despite my insistence on my right to know about my account status. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was told none were available, and after hanging up, I called back only to find that the next representative had no information regarding the restriction either. I was also told to call back at a later time and that I was unable to access my account, I have no negative balance, and do not engage in fraudulent activities. When I requested to close my account, I was informed that it could not be done at this time. Overall, I find this company to be highly unprofessional and do not recommend their services, as their customer support is subpar.SoFi

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I opened up a personal loan. A year later, I requested a payoff amount to which my bank sent the full amount on May 15th. Sofi was the only company never to receive a payoff check so my bank canceled that check and overnighted a new check. They did not receive that check until days later then they finally processed it. So after 5 phone calls for hours and weeks later, my payoff check was finally processed. A month went by. Suddenly my 0 balance was gone and my loan reopened. Here someone in the company refunded the check and my loan was reopened!!! The most ridiculous thing ever!!! I had to make multiple phone calls and each time asked to speak to a manager and was told that I couldn't. Each time they filed a complaint and escalated my account. They told me each time someone would contact me. NOTHING!!! I don't really believe they have managers. I am still trying to close this account. This company is the most frustrating company ever. I have been on hold waiting for 20 minutes for a 5 minute wait.SoFi

Tumultuous and stressful experience at best. Our joint checking account was frozen immediately after I deposited my savings into the account. We are on day 5 of the account freeze and have no end in sight. The internal review process is moving at a snails pace and we have not been contacted to connect, explain, or have additional documentation/verification requested. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior by customer service personnel who hung up on us twice when we asked for clarification on the account review process. While the account is frozen, we cannot access any funds and all auto-payments have been stopped meaning my bills are piling up. We live paycheck to paycheck and have a young child with medical issues to support but we cant access any of our funds to care for the child or even buy gas or groceries. This is a nightmare come to life. DO NO BANK WITH SOFI.9/7/2024SoFi
