    NEGATIVE ***** stars. STAY AWAY!I woke up today to two charges from McAfee, one for $149.99, and one for $64.99 for a total of $214.98, I immediately looked in my email, and my McAfee account and found that I had received no emails from McAfee regarding an "auto-renewal", and that I had furthermore been enrolled in "auto-renewal" without any form of consent. I found my original subscription email from McAfee from last year where these same services were for $54.99 and $34.99 for a total of *****, this email thanked me for my purchase, and made no mention of auto-renewal or price hikes, even in the fine print. I had received no other emails from McAfee (other than marketing emails) until this morning at 9am, saying thanks for your renewal and payment which I'd never consented to or been informed about. I called customer service and requested a full refund and immediate cancellation, to which the *** tried to explain why and offered to keep me for the same price I paid last year, a total of $*****... no thanks. Deceptive at best. I asked the *** to forward me the emails outlining the auto-renewal and price increases, he could not because they don't exist. The did process the refunds (2-5 business days to refund). I demanded a confirmation of services cancellation which the *** sent as well. McAfee exhibits unfair and deceptive practices towards consumers, and should be investigated for taking advantage of everyday Americans who trust in ethical business practices from a software service provider such as McAfee, LLC.

    HORRIBLE.I have never been able to download McAfee on my PC. It won't download on Windows 7. I've tried and tried and TRIED to cancel my subscription, and it's IMPOSSIBLE. My subscription is for a YEAR, with automatic deductions. My bank can't cancel those payments, they say that McAfee has to cancel the auto payments. I put all of my information in when I signed up. They tell me my e-mail address is from **** which I haven't used for the past 20 years! So, because of that, they "can't help me". Also, they wanted me to give them my credit card number OVER THE ***** so they could credit me, but then that pesky e-mail problem came up again.I'm pulling my hair out here.

    I tried to cancel my auto renewal and they refused. They said my subscription would auto renew every year unless I upgraded to a more expensive subscription. They absolutely refused to cancel my subscription. I had to call my credit card company and have them block any further charges from McAfee. They are going to dispute the current charges. I have to give a rating, I would like to give it 0 but I can't.

    This company has tried to scam me out of $131.03 for the past few months. Don't trust them!!!!!! When I call them they say they have reimbursed my account. They lie every time.

    On June 19, 2024, I contacted McAfee because they were getting ready to automatically withdraw money from my account on five devices when I only had coverage for one device. The representative said she would reimburse me the withdrawal. I have been calling ever since then inquiring about my refund. About five or six representatives told me the money was refunded to my account either on June 20th or June 22nd. I told them while I was talking to them and looking at my account, I did not see a refund. One representative told me I should have received an email confirmation about the refund. I told him I didn't receive an email confirmation. They kept telling me to call my bank and find out about the refund. I called my bank and spoke to a representative in the ************************* and he could not find a deposit into my account from **********************. He researched the whole month of June and still could not find a deposit. On June 28th I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. He told me he would research the transaction and forward the information to another department for a review. He said I would receive an email on Monday, July 1st but as of today, July 3rd, I have not received an email or my refund. I called today July 3rd, and the representative told me it was still being reviewed and I should receive a call. Also, I canceled my auto renewal and since I canceled my auto renewal, I was not fully protected from viruses or threats which I think is outrageous. After being frustrated and going back and forth with McAfee I called on today, July 3rd, to cancel my subscription. I told the representative I was going back to ****** because I never had this problem with them. He kept telling me I had just renewed my subscription and I told him I did not care because I was tired of dealing with them. I thought McAfee was a good company because it came on my new computer, but I was wrong.

    This company engages its customers in purposely difficult practices in order to be able to cancel a renewing subscription to its popular antivirus protection package. When I attempted to use my online account to cancel my subscription, I found that I was unable to do so via the online account, despite the company's indications that that is the preferred channel. I then called the customer service line. The representative understood my request to cancel my subscription, and then engaged me in purposely obtuse questioning that was clearly intended to debar me from the purpose of my call. In my view, this is a deceptive business practice. I would further note that when a customer attempts to purchase a subscription to any McAfee service, it is easy to do on the website, and, likewise, phone calls to customer service do not require an extended line of purposely obtuse questioning. In addition, over my years of being a customer I have called the technical support team for various issues, and have always been helped assiduously and effectively, with no line of purposely obtuse questioning.

    I was talking to a young lady who tried to sell me "McAfee + Advanced - Individual" for $89.99. I declined because I don't have $90.00 to waste right now!! While on the phone my credit card alerts me that McAfee charged me $89.99!! This after I told her I didn't want the "Advanced- Individual". I called back to complain and requested an immediate refund. They said it would take 2-5 business days. How lovely - my card is charged immediately but I must wait for the credit,I called back to make sure the credit was going to be applied. The young man I spoke to kept on saying that I had purchased it from McAfee's website. When I told him it was McAfee's error, he insisted time after time that I had bought it on-line!! I told him I didn't have money to waste time after time and that it was their mistake. How rude of this man to insist that I had bought something I hadn't! Somebody needs to talk to this man about customer service or the lack thereof. If there was an option of zero stars that's what I'd choose - a big fat zero.

    I called McAfee to cancel. The agent misunderunderstood and focused more on my refund than cancelling my subscription. They took control of my computer remotely with out my permission. They got access to my bank account and were asking my security question. After 50 minutes I ended the call. It was the most invasive cancellation ever. On top of that, it took at least 30 minutes for me to get control back of my computer. I would never recommend any of their products!

    I had been a customer of **********************. When they renewed my subscription I no longer had the credit card I used in the past. I was told it would be $49.99. Within a few minutes my credit was charged $149.99. I immediately called back and told the man to CANCEL this transaction. It was advertised you could cancel within 30 days. When I called back the agent was rude and told I could not do that. I made several calls and sent replies to correspondence saying I did not any this service and to cancel. I got an email from my credit card and they have refused. I have sent several emails and calls with no results.
