1 starWell, this is interesting... I purchased a Netgear NIGHTHAWK CM2000 modem on July 18, 2024. The modem stopped working after two months which led to investigating the issue. I noticed the reset button was not working. In fact, the button didn't even click. ******** confirmed that my internet was tracking 100% with their modem during our perceived outage. Spectrum is certain our modem is experiencing issues. After checking the firmware on the modem, I verified that the firmware was up to date. The Modem was able to connect to the internet after 4 hours or cycling its connection, only to drop again the next day. I've tried to factory reset the modem by login into the Netgear Modem and the modem continues to fumble my strong internet signal. I contacted Netgear to process a refund for a defective product within 90 days. They just flat out declined my request and said we are not going to do this. They did offer an exchange that would have costed me $16 for shipping and with deadlines to return the *** that are sketchy, they come with penalties that cost extra money, $34 if I remember correctly. I'm never going to do business with Netgear again. They are a terrible company. I should have known better to check out BBB prior to switching brands. Just look below... Netgear has no shame and will not contact you.Review fromthomas h

1 starI had an old wifi extender that i had not used for a while. I bought a new router and then attempted to re-use the extender with my new wifi. I had lost the directions on how to set it up and decided to call Netgear for their advice. After explaining what i wanted to do, they checked my extender and said it was corrupted with malware and needed to be cleansed. They then offered to do this at the price of $500 for a 3 year service. They then asked if I was a senior or a veteran and lowered the cost to $250. I said "no". Bought another Netgear wifi extender at ******* and set it up per the included directions without any difficulty. Decided to try with my old extender using the same directions and that also worked perfectly. I now have extenders operating thoughout my home without any problems. Why didn't Netgear just tell me how to set up the extender in the first place instead of trying to rob me with a protection plan i DID NOT NEED?Review fromMike F

I bought a Nighthawk Hot spot. After 11 months it has had trouble charging. For the last 2 weeks, I've jumped trough all the Netgear trouble shooting hoops, new cord, take the battery out, re start, endless emails, etc. Netgear is not willing to replace the unit and is delaying and pushing me past my one year manufacturer warranty. NOT HAPPY!!! ":(NETGEAR

1 starDear [Netgear/] Customer Support,My name is *****************************, and I am writing to request assistance in resolving an issue. On June 14, 2024, my home internet stopped working. I contacted Xfinity, and after a 30-minute conversation, they informed me that the problem was with my Netgear router and provided me with their phone number. After an hour-long conversation with Netgear customer service, I was told that the warranty on my router had expired and I needed to purchase a new one for $99 for a year or around $160 for two years. I asked if I could think it over, and they said yes, but they couldnt resolve my router issue until I signed the contract and paid for it. As soon as I signed the contract and paid (contract ********), my WiFi was restored within a minute. Realizing the situation, I understood that I had been deceived: what does warranty extension have to do with the routers functionality? I called customer service again to cancel the contract. They told me that there would be no problem, all the money would be refunded, and the WiFi would continue to work. However, I was only refunded $50 instead of $99. Thus, I was deceived into buying a warranty by disabling my WiFi and then refunded only half the amount. I ended up without a warranty and out $49.I request a full refund of the remaining $49 and a thorough investigation into this matter to prevent such situations in the future.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,****Review fromKim S

1 starDo not buy from this company. Bought the nighthawk only had it 6 months. Wanted $169 to fix the problem. While it still under warranty. It even said after they fix it its. Good for two year then a renewal happens. So I would have to pay again. This happened with our arlos before had to buy this. Will never buy from this company again. As I found other complaints similar to ours. I feel like they are sending out signals to the router to make them run bad so they get paid to fix it. So disappointed. Now Im out over $200 something bc Im going to buy from another company. Im not paying them to fix something still under warranty.Review fromJonathan S

1 starDON'T BUY DIRECTLY FROM THEM!! I bought a $500 Nighthawk router in hopes that I would finally have stable internet at home. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I immediately started having issues with it losing power or stopping all wi-fi signals. I started reaching out to their support team in hopes that they would be able to assist me in replacing the device, but they are near impossible to get ahold of, refuse to communicate through email, and usually ask you to repeat details you have already shared. Now, they refuse to allow me to return the defective device, I am not able to get a new one even though I purchased a protection plan, and I am done waiting on hold for their terrible tech support team. They make sure their support is terrible enough to keep you communicating long enough to surpass your return window. Don't be like me, look up how to make a return online. As it turns out, I dind't need their support team, and they just wasted my time week after week after week.Review fromJohn R

1 starHardware purchased was defective. Tech support was very poor. Spent hours on the phone with poorly trained staff who had no idea how the hardware worked. Wasted a lot of time. Ultimately the hardware was replaced but shipped short. Nothing good about Netgear. Dont waste your money, many other alternatives.Review fromBremt B

1 starThey wont service products after 90 days, even when the problem is clearly a product defect. They then use the product defect to try to sell you a service contract. Do NOT by Netgear.
