      I would give zero stars if allowed. They deleted all of my photos, my memories. Do not ever choose them. Horrible people. Horrible company.

      I have been a customer since ****, I was not given any notice of deletion of my intellectual property in a timely manner. The email they sent was unopened until today when I tried to gain my life['s photo's MY LIFE from Shutterfly.com and they were deleted. I was assured in **** that my photos would "never be deleted" when I came from ***** Gallery to Shutterfly that my data would always be my data and again 2 years ago by ******** Shutterfly official page that was a response to another customer named ***** Agent ******* that stated "Hi *****, we never delete photos so there must be something going on. Let us look into your account..." I took Shutterfly official FB page to be that of false advertising then. I will no doubt contact an attorney and file a police report as this is theft of intellectual property, I will contact **** and every attorney general in each state. So many angry customers, there are several unhappy customers and angry at this level of extortion and fraud. I offered to pay for my data with a tech support ***** then she told me to call 877-284-xxxx, my husband and I were both on call with Shutterfly and where hung up on at 9:32AM the call lasted 24min. I will also be contacting their board of directors as well. *******************************, CEO. Hopefully the BBB will get involved and something will be done about addressing the issue of theft of intellectual property, false advertising, extortion, and fraud. Shutterfly did not give me enough notice re their erasing of my data

      Just one of many customers that lost all their photos with no more of a warning than a spam type email. This is coming from a customer since ****. I only hope that everyone takes action and this company goes out of business.

      At 6 weeks postpartum, my wife logged into her Shutterfly account to add to the baby book she began less than a month ago only to find that not only her photos were gone, her entire baby book that she had spent many of her precious hours working on, had disappeared. She custom created every single page in that book, spending a great deal of time. After a very unhelpful interaction with a customer service representative via the site chat who informed us that because we did not make a purchase in the last 18 months, her materials were deleted. I now have a highly hormonal crying wife and a crying baby. This new policy requiring customers to place an order otherwise work and images are deleted is a cheap tactic at boosting sales. Holding peoples memories (and in this case, hard work) hostage is not conducive to customer loyalty. Sounds like a lot of people are having similar issues and Shutterfly has directed their customer service department to do effectively nothing and belittle their customer base. Whoever/whomever had this idea at Shutterfly is a coward and should be ashamed of themselves.

      I thought that maybe I was part of a few that lost all of my pictures but based on what I am reading I am not alone. I just spend 30 minutes of my time trying to get my pictures restored but no avail. Like many people listed below I have been a customer of their for many many years and have bought many photo books that were not cheap. Just one of my orders was well over ****** and that was just one of them. I will never use their service again and will make sure that i spread the word that they have zero compassion for their customers and their memories that we entrusted them with. If you value your photos...do not load them to their site. I am totally beside myself and sick. I would give zero stars but it wasn't available.

      All my photos were deleted. I had an account with them since my kids were small. I have ordered many items over the years and was in the middle of a project for my mother in law since my husband recently passed but wanted it to be perfect so I had not completed it. Went back in to add some more photos and it said I had no photos. I contacted customer service and was told because I had not made a purchase that they deleted all my photos. All those years of memories just wiped away. Not even a warning when I would go in and work on my project. I had not made a purchase in the past 18 months but what about all the purchases I have made over the years and the fact I had several projects being worked on. Totally unacceptable customer service and communication. If I had a warning come up when I logged in I would have gone ahead and completed at least one of my projects. I hope others will see these reviews before putting their most loving memories in this company.

      I created an account years ago, and never used it, and now they are sending me unsolicited emails about their services. I tried to delete my account and the only option it gave was to change my password. That's terrible customer service. The online bot said I have "99+" people ahead of me waiting to speak with an agent. No thanks.

      I missed the share site closure by 1 day and was not clear on what happens when that occurs as I either missed an email or it went to junk. When I called to beg for mercy as they have 1000's of my kids sports teams pictures over the years, it was sorry ******* we sent out an email.Meanwhile I am traumatized losing all those memories. Absolutely unconscionable that Shutterfly doesnt have any grace ****** or back up plan in case a customer didnt receive their warning.Really horrible that they would do that to people who placed so much trust in them.I am stunned that there are heartless companies like this one that exist.Shame on them.

      Shutterfly customer of 15+ years, but **************** deleted all stored photos & saved orders. Apparently buried in a near-daily stream of emails was one advising that photo archive would be deleted if no order placed shortly. Just discovered when logging in to get back to normal and place an order following pandemic disruptions. While Shutterfly quality was generally so-so, we had stuck with the company instead of moving on to newer options. Heartbreaking mistake, as we've lost a lifetime of photos from our child growing up. **************** repeatedly advised to just re-upload our photos, but the photos were uploaded to Shutterfly for storage. To re-upload, we would need to access the photos from Shutterfly. Our only option is to lift photos from Shutterfly marketing emails not yet deleted and store somewhere reliable. WARNING: DO NOT RELY ON SHUTTERFLY FOR PHOTO STORAGE!

      I ordered a photo book and the book I received was different from my saved project. I used their virtual assistant and was cut off DURING the communication with their assistant due to Shutterfly's time out. I called and got through and the assistant was helpful in the free reorder. We made sure the photos and text were correct before reordering. I get the reordered book and the text was present but the same problem existed for the photo. Once again I used the virtual assistant and just as the assistant told me to use another photo, we were cut off again due to Shutterfly's time out. I now have two books that are unusable, the event I needed the books for is over, 3 hours of my time has been wasted being on hold and trying to deal with their "customer service" and I am out over $100.
