      This apartment complex completely destroyed my credit . During the year 2022 we Moved to Villa sienna. While living there for a couple months we had some hardship issues that completely put out family down on our luck . I decided to talk to the manager of the establishment and made agreements that we will pay rent on a decided day so account will not hit delinquent , mean while I contacted the manager notifying them that the online portal was not working for us . I had stayed we would be dropping off the cashiers check at the office. 3 months go by thinking everything thing was good with the payments and out of the blue they hit me with pay rent or quit . I decided to get in contact with the manager for the apartment complex and explained to her the situation. She had then told me that we had missed 3 months in rent and late payment fees. I explained to the manager that I had been dropping off the cashiers check at the end of the month , which they answered they were no longer accepting checks . They then had one of their employees try to deposit the cashier checks to their personal acct but had no luck so decided to take it to court . I felt hopeless and down on my luck for that that period of time I hade applied to ca Covid *********** which gave me a reassurance that I cannot be legally evicted. To this day I have the application on pending due to the second party not taking the steps to complete their side of the application for rent relief. I felt that the 3 months Villa sienna failed to deposit the cashiers check as rent payment created a whole domino effect for the situation . I currently have severe credit damage and 17k of unpaid rent according to them . This has been the worst experience of my life dealing with the situation during the pandemic. I have tried disputing but still on pending , and have no completion date . ***** sienna in ********** clearly had a drop box for rent and according them had misplaced for 3 months . I really home to resolve this .

      Moved into an Essex property called Pathways at ****************** and was charged an enormous security deposit only to move into an apartment infested with fleas, mosquitos, water bugs & 2nd hand cigarette smoke so severe to the point of gasping for air to breathe. The manager **** harassed us into transferring to another unit or move out & allowed the White tenant who create the nuisance to us the opportunity to have his own **************. We moved and faced the same thing. Water bugs & more 2nd hand smoke from another White tenant who pretended as though they dont smoke. We complained and **** the manager knew exactly where the smoke was coming from but pretended as though she never smelled anything, defended the White smokers again and once again harassed us into moving. Horrible place to live. The entire complex smells like a disgusting cesspool of cigarettes. The manager is a liar and is extremely unprofessional. Worst place that Ive ever rented.

      I moved to the boulevards apartments last year in Dec 1 2022 Till sept 30 ******************************************************************************************************************************************************** the month of June I informed the management that I would be late in the month of July will make payments on 14 July and on 27 July I sent them a cashier check along went to make a payment through Wips and it was declined also my check was returned They turned me over to eviction for not payment even though I was trying to make my payment within the same month. I kept calling and trying to contact nobody responded until in sept They reported to the credit beauru for non payment even I have proofs of the communication as well as requesting to accept my payments Until someone called and tried to resolve They told me to pay half of what I owe and they would fix the credit score But it was all white lies My credit score not only has gone down but also it shows delinquent on it which lead to extremely hard for me find another place then they raised the rent from **** to **** Not only I was given notice for that At least 2-3 months When I moved in the heater was broken and since that they kept telling me they gonna replace it with new one Its been 12 months now nothing is fixed or replaced And they keep reporting the credit beauru When I reached out to the headquarters asking to reduce the price It got declined saying I dont have good rental history I would have accepted that but that is total discrimination towards middle class And said no to my face Also said this place is not for low income If you cant pay then you can find another place for yourself I would love leave But because of the ding they did on my credit Creating problems for me to find another place Because everyone things I was not responsible They are right and I m wrong I am being judged and misunderstood Do not rent here If you have tremendous a

      Essex Apartments Aqua at ************** The managers never answer the phone, and they decided to block the windows so you never know if they are in the office or not.They are charging us an exorvitant amount of money for "carpet damage". It seems like a cigarette burn. Neither of us smoke. And pet urine: we do NOT have a pet. The exit interview was painful. They came 1 hour late, for no reason.They raised our rent 10%, and after we left, they rented the apartment at a lower rent than what we were paying.We had to call the Essex headquarters so the managers would answer the phone!

      ***************** Essexs apartments Omg my disabled audult children lived there for 8 years the ********** has changed about for times in the beginning when they moved in 8 years ago it was fine we were guarantors for I kids than new ********** came you could still resolve things with the apartment oh my two kids have support dogs and that was given at the time the lease was signed with all the support dog paper work anyway on to the 3 rd ********** that was short lived was great we had to get a waiver for the electronic locks they were putting in to all apartments thank god this happened 3 years ago when that ********** was there . Than the current ********** came in and nothing but problems they said they had nothing in the original lease that had my kids were disabled and about the dogs when we went to renew the lease 3 years ago I explained that was all taken care of but I had to produce the documents again than they raised the rent 200 dollars but my kids did not want to move .i should of contacted the housing department for Ada *** I didnt just complyed then they changed the utilities as part of the rent but they could not tell us how much that would be so you just had to guess an amount universal your rent for auto pay out of your account nobody would or could help I spent days trying to get answers no return phone calls didnt answer emails finally after two weeks I got an answer but it just didnt seem on the up and up but still stayed the bills for utilities went from about 153 to over 219 dollars per month we tried to get some answers to why so high with the high rent no answers called conservice the utility company they said we needed to talk to the apartment that went no where so to sum it up I believe they should be sued and Im in the process now of looking into this . We have now given our notice not to renew lease and this has been a fiasco to say the least . They are not answering questions emails and when they do its wrong info . Essexs is huge

      In December they re glazed a tub in the unit below me and did not open windows, warn me, or respond when I came home to noxious chemical smell that made me and my dog sick, me with a migraine and sore throat/sinuses and her with digestive upset and lethargy. We slept with our windows open hoping I get enough airflow to not be affected but my throat was burned not to mention long term affects. My dog and I slept elsewhere the following night after many attempts to get into contact. When they messaged me that the smell should have dispersed and that it was a non toxic and that they would open the windows. They didn't. When I tried to address the fact that this caused me harm ******** said they hired a contractor for the job (avoiding responsibility) she wouldn't give me their contact and she also never gave me more info she claimed to ask for from contractors. Tub glaze is toxic no matter what. There are less toxic options but you're still supposed to wear ventilation around it and open the windows. It off gasses for 48 hours and VOCs cause altziemers. I didn't even hear back for 48 hours. Countless roof leaks onto my possessions, visible mold, and loud work with no notice starting as early as 7:30 am. Projects always go longer than they say, by months typically. All amenities were out of commission for the majority of the year I lived there. I reached out for a over month trying to get into contact with anyone regarding my lease renewal. ******** got into contact with me and was apologetic for her lack of response and via telephone call waised my pet rent for the last month. I asked her to text or email me that right away. When it didn't happen and I mentioned it after receiving an email listing the charges for move out **** emailed to ask for proof. 40 days to send me my deposit/ prorated rent. 21 days is the legal timeline. I sealed my own apartment and kept drains covered to avoid the cockroaches but it still got me. They blamed me for that too.

      I lived in **** ********, an Essex building in ***********. It was the worst place I've lived in & the most negligent/incompetent management I've seen, I was out after a year. The worst parts were:1. 2 credit cards were stolen from my mailbox. **** alerted Essex that someone has a master key to mailboxes but residents were never told 2. I had to send a demand letter saying that I intended to *** in small claims court to get my security deposit back. They failed to return it within CA's 21 day legal limit despite providing my new address before they cut the check. Not surprised theyre currently facing a class action lawsuit on security deposits Every touchpoint I had with Essex staff over the year was a let down. They had countless opportunities to turn things around but didn't. My decision to move out was an easy one. Stay away. If nothing improved in my year there (and before based on older reviews) I doubt it will in the future

      Terrible company who has 0 accountability for their own actions and does not put any care or consideration towards their residents. In some cases they manage property off site and those are the worst as management is totally disillusioned with the reality of the community.       ***** from the eviction department stated they wanted their apartment back and to get out. I called the eviction department after I could not pay the remainder balance of my rent. Most people at Essex are very understanding and Ive lived there going on two years. I have been patient with the number of repairs and the maintenance supervisor is now working diligently to repair the poor and unsafe work a maintenance man named **** left in despair. Also someone (****) entered my apartment and that day a jar of money went missing. I was never told and no more or message was posted to my account or phone stating enterande to my Apt. only on July 11 &13. ********* Glass stated they were never there but **** stared in an emailed generated by Essex that they were there and fixed the issue. Not true in a written statement from ********* glass. Now **** has not commented or will admit to replacing the slider, since he did not have permission to enters I stated this before not to enter my apartment with my knowledge or presence. I believe it was him because all other workers deny knowing about the slider. A jar of $810.00 is now missing and now **** has failed to reply back with any evidence he was in my home or dispute the fact that ********* Glass claim they never fixed my slider scene or nor so the recommended d his quick fix as a temp replacement. Many safety concern and NOT RECOMMWNDED AT ALL.. so who entered my apartment on July *****. If not them. I open and close that slider due to ventilation issue daily nothing was replaced until the 4rh week of August . The week of August *****rd I was then I noticed a completely different slider and the handle was not the same nor the mental had many imprints of damage dents bangs. It was completely dirty and smelled like f**** on the bottom. This is just one of the issues he created. There are several other issues, but after 6 months ***** is now repairing them for me. Now Im being asked to leave. After all this

      These people are scammers. They offered us a 1000$ move in if we signed the contract right away. We did sign and then they refused to pay us. A man came the first day and removed the toilet and took 8 hours to fix, he left the bathroom in a huge mess. The maintenance could not fix the heat for a month, 4 refrigerators have broken, the maintenance flooded our apartment and the company refuses to verify with my insurance. I was injured on the property and they have refused to provide their property insurance. The pulled a scam on us where the maintenance man came in and told me to sign up for a bigger apartment then he grabbed at my chest. I reported all of this to the police. They took our money and then stated that we were not qualified to move, and we are 100% qualified. Now they have made false charges on our account and they are refusing to pay us back.
