Took full payment. Never sent second set of aligners. Called customer service for resolution numerous times. Opened claim with my credit company, ***** finally contacted me. They said someone would contact me and never did. I should be done with my treatment by now. I left a review on their social media they respond publicly but will not do anything else. Other patients complained of the same exact thing. Terrible fraudulent company!!!Byte

Thank you for providing this feedback. We are happy to clarify more on our continuation process! In every customers step 12 aligner packet there is a little red fortune cookie stating its time to check in for the continuations. Once this check in is completed our Byte Support team will review the fit of the aligners and make sure everything looks well. This must be done in order to send out the remaining set of aligners. If there is anything our team sees is concerning they will ask for additional information. When starting off with Byte you will be greeted by a friendly sales person that will answer any questions day or night. They get you set up and make you feel like a valued customer. However once you start treatment, everything shifts. The only way to contact the company is through the worst customer service agents of all time that gate keep you from talking to anyone that knows anything about your plan. They ************, and put delay after delay on your treatment. Ive now been in treatment for 2 months longer than expected, Im only 2/3s done, Im unable to reach anyone that knows whats going on with my plan and unable to finish. Even after begging the customer service rep to speak with clinal support member they just laughed at me. If you were to ask me 4 months ago I wouldve recommended Byte in a heart beat, now Id say stay far away, pay the extra $1000 and get your teeth fixed by a company that actually cares and will reply to you.Byte

They are just in it for revenue and do not actually have the ability to straighten teeth, at least not if you actually have significantly crooked teeth. They originally told me 15 weeks and it was taking past a year and still not even close to the result of straight teeth. I got discouraged and also had some very difficult times in my life, and they said in order to help I had to pay again because it had been more than a year. However, they didnt reach out to me or check in on me at all. But I was expected to check in EVERY MONTH or their guarantee was no longer a guarantee. Also, if you dont have all your aligners at all times, no guarantee. They will be like too bad. Pay again for help. I mean 40+ weeks of doing all their steps and my teeth were basically the same?!?! Seems scammy to me.Byte

Thank you for this feedback! We are happy to clarify more on our guarantees as well as check in processes. When entering treatment we provide all customers with a copy of the guarantee guidelines so they can view them at any time during their treatment. In the Aligner Guarantee we advise that the customer must keep all their aligners until they have completed treatment, this is because there are times when the customers need to backtrack into a better fitter aligner. Keeping all the aligners also comes in handy for situations where a customer may have stopped wearing their aligners and needs to start their treatment again. If the aligners are discarded it does void the guarantee as we cannot backtrack in your treatment and troubleshoot any issues.
With our check ins, Byte treatment is more independently guided than traditional orthodontics, meaning, there's more freedom for each customer to monitor their treatment while still following the guidelines provided by Byte. We send emails, texts, and reminders through the app and account center to each customer when it is time for them to check in. Without the opportunity to evaluate treatment needs chairside, Byte requires photos to review the current progress. Through these check ins our Byte and Clinical support teams can reach out if needed and catch any concerns right when they start. 1 starI placed an order with Byte in January 2023. After filling out the application an email was sent to me stating that the account was turned over to a company called ******************. I ****** the company and didn't like what I saw. I reached back out to ******* to cancel the order with no response. I have been calling and emailing since January with no response. Now I have been billed for a product that I haven't even received. After several.attempts I finally spoke with a Westlake rep. **** tell me that it's my responsibility to get in touch with the first rep who I haven't been able to get in the phone. In my voice-mail and emails I have stated I did not want to continue with Byte. I feel like they don't want to cancel it and still charge me.Review fromShannon C

1 starIt will be 2 years this week when I started using Byte. I am in my 4th set of aligners and I still dont have good results after doing all steps by the book, all check-ins. **************** has gotten worse and worse and even when I think Im getting to a real person that understands what they are doing, they drop you and you have to start all over, I recently was told I was getting more aligners (5th set) and when tracked I found out they never even shipped. I truly believe this company hopes you give up trying after spending $3k but all I want is a!refund after 2 years of trying. I now realize I was duped. Do not use Byte, you will be sorry, If I can get a refund Ill be able to at least try to seek results with a dentist, which I should have done in first place.Review fromLisa N

1 starDONT DO IT!My teeth are almost completely straight before I started, I just want minor adjustments. It has left my teeth with spacing issues and black triangles all of which they say for an additional cost of blah blah blah they can fix.I have been riding in emails since the middle of last year letting them know that my retainers are fitting and they keep telling me to backtrack at this and that with no real progress now theyre telling me because I missed one email out of the 50 we have sent back-and-forth since last year. They are no longer going to honor my warranty.This is a scam.I truly hope there is a lawsuit against this company, and that I notified to be a part of it. I dont even know how much this will cost me to fix and after reading these one star reviews Im guessing Im probably going to find out that my teeth are worse than I even think they are.I had a feeling when they were trying to sell me. This ad texted me almost every day that this was going to be an issue that all they were after was money. I shouldve used my better judgment.So please use yours.Review fromtmh w

1 starStay away. There are so many other REAL services that are equipped to create aligners for you that you can also put on Care Credit. Byte is a farce and will not provide you with the support or quality that it claims.Now I'm on the last set of my aligners and my teeth are not yet straight. Reading some of the other reviews I'm really worried they're going to charge me extra money despite the fact that their treatment plan clearly wasn't accurate in the first place. I've used the retainers as instructed and if I'm charged any amount of extra money I will be raising h*** for being charged for a service that was not honored. You don't get to make fake treatment plans that don't straighten people's teeth then charge them extra to straighten their teeth.For Byte representatives reading this:You are a medical service, maybe start acting like it. 1) Get a real support team or else lower the number of people you service to account for the size of team you have. 2) Get legitimate database management to protect my medical information but to allow access to basic treatment information (like how many steps are in our treatment or which step we're on). 3) Get rid of your generic support request form (I don't need to upload the same 5 photos every single time I need to submit a support request) OR share the dmn form responses with your support team before they email me to ask me *for the exact same information and photos again.* 4) If you're going to make an entire app for users to track their treatment, USE THAT INFORMATION. 5) DO NOT charge people extra money to straighten their teeth when that's what they've paid for in the first place.Review fromGregory l

I needed very slight corrections and my 9 mo th treatment has turned into 21/2 years. I had to do impressions 2 additional times and the total fiasco between the 1st phone call a getting the new aligners is about 3 months. They are in no hurry to get anything done. I strongly suggest going another routeByte

Hi ******, we appreciate this feedback and would be happy to clarify. When it comes to the timeframe for treatment, just like all orthodontia, the time to align teeth is always an estimate. As everyone's anatomy is different, teeth may move at a slower pace than expected or may be a bit stubborn. When these happen is it common to receive refinement aligners so those concerns can be addressed directly. Just like an orthodontist tightens braces, our aligners sometimes need adjustments as well. Terrible customer service, check ins were a joke, at no time did they recommend changing my treatment plan until the end when I was trying to get my retainers. I was to get retainers in Dec and its the end of Feb still waiting. I would not recommend this company. If Im happy with the results why delay my retainers???? Ugh they made the experience just plain awful.Byte
