Scammed at Redners in Audubon, PA by Inspire sales person that forged a signature onto a contract when I agreed to only receive information. How is this company still in existance?

Inspire Energy is 100% fraud. I am primarily with JCPL, NJ. Inspire Energy promised that if I sign up with them, My monthly bill is going to be lower than what you are paying, for sure. and you will be helping environment. BIG LIE. My bill is minimum doubled with signing up with them. When I reached out to them for refund, I am getting run around from rep. to rep. Make sure you check your bills every month and compare them with your power company rates.

November 21, 2022 I signed up to switch from First Energy; Penelec, to INSPIRE Energy for our power generation. I was told and agreed to the first 2 months I would be charged $44.99 a month and then I would be sent an email before the second month ends to notify of our monthly rate for the remaining 10 months. Received first bill and was pleased with the savings. December 30, 2022, we received an email with our rate for the remainder of the year to start on 1/29/2023 for $44.99 per month and this price will not change during your Subscription Term, regardless of how much energy your home uses. Again I was pleased; however, on 1/9/2023 we received another email stating the first email was incorrect and that the new price will be $194.99 per month, a $150 increase. I called customer service and Christine was polite and tried to explain that they were having problems with the calculations and that the new rate is incorrect even though the first email stated the rate will not increase. Do you research before switching to ISPIRE Energy.

Two salesmen showed up to my door in September, with promises that they could give us a lower rate, after 3 months our bill tripled from $140 to $347!! The rate the last 3 months was 29.99 for inspire and January bill was 229.99 just from inspire. Absolutley outrageous. Nothing was discussed about increases was never notified or sent an email about increase. Nothing I signed said anything about this increase when I signed up. I was scammed. I cancelled immediately and it said it would take 1-2 billing cycles to cancel, I tried speaking to a representative who first said they could do nothing about the charges and then when I asked to speak to a manager I was informed that takes 1-2 buisness days. I have not gotten anywhere and can not afford this bill.

I had a very POOR interaction with this company and I’m writing this review in hopes of warning others so they are not tricked into accepting services in the way I was. I am new to city living, currently in my first apartment on my own, and overall naive to what is out there. A few days ago Inspire representatives were walking around my apartment complex, going door to door despite the many “no soliciting” signs posted. When I answered the door, a female representative told me I should have known they were coming because my electric company supposedly sent me a postcard (I received no such postcard). She then proceeded to tell me she needed my information for my gas and electric companies. I was visibly confused and uncomfortable, which she used to further prey on my naïveté. She attempted to put me at ease by asking about my day and making jokes, along with complimenting what I was wearing. I continued to hesitate but unfortunately gave into my people-pleasing ways and proceeded to give her my information. She then told me I would be receiving an automated call that would ask “Is the agent still at your residence?” and instructed me to say no. She reported this was in case I had any questions after the phone call. Once she left, a knot settled into my stomach and I had a feeling something wasn’t right. I looked up the company and saw many complaints. A few minutes later, I put on my coat and ran outside in hopes of finding the representative. Instead, I found a different representative. I told her that I wanted to cancel my service and I was uncomfortable with the company. She then called the representative who came to my door and mentioned that the customer (me) she had just made a SALE to wanted to cancel the account. Her use of the word sale further solidified that this was an unprofessional and fraudulent business, having completely ignored the “no solicitors” signs and presenting themselves as part of my original electric and gas company. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

This company indulges in highly improper sales tactic. The sales reps claim to represent a state clean energy program although they actually work for a private company and then ask to see a customer's bill on the pretext of checking if the customer is paying extra etc.
A sales rep enrolled me into their service without my consent and knowledge in a highly fraudulent manner. She was brazen enough to ask to see my phone to check an acknowledgement message that I understood and was explained about NJ state clean energy. But what she did was click a link and activate an app. Later on, I found a message in the spam folder.
I had to call them to cancel, they did not even have my email ID or my proper name. It is baffling how the state of New Jersey even allows this?
I also had to call my own utility company PSE&G several times to ensure the switch did not happen.

Just like the many other complaints with the invalid responses from the company themselves, these people are SCAMMERS!!! I ask for a refund due to trying to get this company off of my bill since April and it wasn't until today that the representative allowed me to cancel. After telling me she STILL wanted me to keep them and "support them" with a "lower" rate. My bill went from being $33 to $93 this month. She kept saying they don't give any refunds at all and that the responses on this page is not associated with the company. So all the responses you see on this complaint page saying they refunded the customer are LIES. They sent the guy to my door and he said i had to switch or else i wouldn't get any electricity. i asked if he worked directly with PECO and he said yes. He also assured me that i would not be paying anymore that what i do in total. Yet here i am for the past few months paying triple of what my bill normally is with no refund at all. they gaslight and scam you into giving them business. I want my money back. People are struggling during these times. This is so unnecessary!

A rep came to my door claiming that they were in business with Columbia Gas and they were there to save me money because Columbia Gas messed up on my bill. He then proceeded to ask for my gas bill to look at a section where Columbia Gas was charging me too much and they needed to fix it. He went as far as to explain that my neighbor (called him by name) was having the same problem. Not one time did the rep explain that I was signing up with a new gas company. I even asked why did the info I was signing said “contract”. He advised that it was just a term that they used in the system and he didn’t know why. Dumb on my part to believe that. He took all of my info and when he left I received a welcome email. I immediately called and cancelled and was assured that it would not affected my current gas provider. This company is a joke with their bait and switch tactics. I’m hoping that the cancellation went through. Just wanted to warn others if there deceiving tactics.

Inspire is a bunch of crap! They told us they would lower our energy bill by 40%. The salesman was a slick car salesman! Instead we got charged over $700 as an electric supplier charge! In fact they charged a standard offer service electricity is 9.77 cents/kWh. And then in June 2023, they are going to raise it to 9.98 cents/kWh. Total BS!! I want this $700 charge taken off since I never even signed an agreement!! Don't use them! They will rip you off!!!
