Did not give consent to change electric companies.
Apparently all they need to do is find your account number, to sign you up without consent.
This company doubled my electric company bill. Without my knowledge or consent, put their name down as our supplier.
Received an electric bill for over 500 dollars for one month!
Almost as much as my mortgage. Ridiculous!

I had a door-to-door representative approach me and lie about why he was there to get me to switch my gas supplier to Inspire.
The man told me that my gas supplier had recently been switched without my consent and that they needed me to resign up with Inspire to get back to my old service and prices. This seemed plausible as my gas bill had just gone up tremendously in the past few month, and I was definitely underinformed about gas prices, legislature, and suppliers. So I signed up.
After some research, I found that Inspire had never been my gas supplier at any point. The city's gas aggregation supplier had just gone bankrupt, and I had gotten switched to a choice supplier until the city had reached a new gas aggregation agreement with another company.
I quickly reached out to Columbia Gas and they were able to cancel my supplier switch and keep me in the gas aggregation program. Super scummy!

If it was possible to leave no stars I would. My father and I were approached at BJs and I had him speak with the representative because he previously worked for a public utility. They must have convinced him that we'd save enough money because he made the switch. The next month our bill was double what it normally is at over $400. We use one account just for household bills and because we weren't expecting the additional charges our account was overdrawn. Inspire was called immediately and told to cancel our service. Imagine my surprise when I just received this months' bill and, same thing, the supply charges are double what the electric charges are and my bill is double what it normally is, again overdrawing our household bank account. Again, they were called and are still continuing to give my dad the run around, saying that a case needs to be opened and they're not sure they can give us a refund. Absolute scam and the PUC has already been called so an official complaint can be filed.

Low offer for 1-year and then steep increase for year two with no notice. Customer service claimed a renewal notice was email and mailed but it was not! I received many other emails from the company but somehow not the renewal with the increase! I noticed the change on my electric bill. Customer service was mediocre and disappointing and would not recommend bothering with this company.

I was approached by a gentleman in the Auburn Mall in Auburn, Massachusetts promising me I would have a flat rate as a supplier for my electric utility bill. Since I signed up a few months ago my bill has been the highest it has ever been!
Last month I called and canceled their service, the man I spoke with assured me it was canceled. I got a bill in the mail from my electric company today and the inspire was STILL on the bill with a supplier charge that seemed to DOUBLE!
I WANT THIS OFF MY BILL! I also would like the $349.48 supplier cost reimbursed to me! I recommend NOT using inspire clean energy, I believe they don’t tell the whole truth and are only out for the money!!!!!

Someone from Inspire stopped by my house and offer a fixed $69/month for the first two months until they determine the average consumption. After 2 months the electric bill went from $69/month to $149/month for electric consumption only. The average was over my monthly consumption but I assumed it will all even out over time. The bill went from $149 to $330 to $624/month double from what PSEG would have charged. Stay away from this company unless you don’t mind paying extra.

When I first moved into my house in Washington, a person from Inspire was walking around asking people to sign up for lower rates, cleaner energy, etc. I decided to give it a try. After monitoring my bill, I decided to cancel inspire. I cancelled in October of 2021. I noticed my electric bill was still high compared to previous time frames and I took a look. Inspire was still on my bill. I called and the representative I spoke to said that yes she sees my cancellation but also sees that someone re-enrolled me as of February of 2022. I did not authorize anyone to re-enroll me. My electric bills were $80 more the last few months. They say they reimbursing me. We will see.

Was approached by a rep at the grocery store, who told me about switching to this clean energy company. The rep told me I would get a subscription price on my electricity bill of $54 for the first two months, then they would assess my energy bills and only charge me a monthly average of what my annual bills were. Sounds good right? But what they did not tell me, is that I would be paying these amounts ON TOP OF the electricity charges I was already paying to Duquesne Light. They did not clearly explain this, and definitely made it seem as though I would be getting some deal by signing up. The first month of this program, I ended up paying DOUBLE for my electricity charge! When I called, the rep explained that I was still paying Duquesne for the delivery of the electricity and I was paying Inspire for the supply. Of course, when I went back and read the find print on their emails, I could see how they weasel worded it so that it was technically legal. But it is a TOTAL SCAM. I can't believe Giant Eagle let this scammer in to wander around their business, and I will also be filing a complaint with them as well, so they know what happened.

I’ve read some of the other reviews and just as all the other BJ’s shoppers I got scammed. I was approached and told them I’m not interested as I had a bad experience in the past ( many years ago when all of these renewable energy companies were starting up). Since they were new I signed up and within a year my electric bill tripled. Of course, I canceled right away. I told the inspire sales people/scammers that I wasn’t interested for this reason. They assured me that my rates would never go up. I reiterated that I not interested because I don’t want the same thing to happen and again that they promised rates would never go up. Well surprise surprise I just got my $480 electric bill… Up over $300 from my last one. When I called to cancel I was told that because I live in New Jersey they are not allowed to send out notification letters that the contract will be up and it will be a $300 rate increase. I am going to call the energy commission to check to see if this is indeed true. Of course, had they notified me that I was going to get a $300 plus increase per month I would’ve canceled right away. Had I not been lied to I never would’ve changed from my electric company to begin with and never will again. Apparently you can’t trust anyone!

Inspire people came by twice, and made statements that implied they were working on behalf of a government program. They also completely misrepresented what their service was, stating that using them as a supplier would “cap” monthly payment at X amount. Of course, I find out that it is a “flat rate”, which means there is never a lower price. Additionally, they stated there was no trial period, and the price is guaranteed for a year. The price then over doubled without any warning a 3 months later. They also never sent me any account information, so it was impossible to take any action without calling in. Do not use them unless you want a headache and way above what your normal bill would be.
