All around scam in the name of green energy , SHAME on these scumbags. Door to door sales people offer lower rate on JCP&L NJ electricity. After two billing cycles rates went up 9 to 14%. Called costumer service and was advised that the rates are not fixed with the plan I signed up with. Totally sold a bunch of lies from the sales person that costumer service blamed. Stick with JCP&L for best rates. Going Green is a scam for companies like Inspire to take advantage of people.

Fraudulent company, the sales person came to the door initially said PECO sent him to look at overcharges on my bill and he would be able to get them removed. Didn't sound right from the beginning then when I said I wasn't interested he kept insisting on why I wouldn't want charges removed that shouldn't be there. Complete scam, stay away from Inspire Energy people that claim they're there to help you.

0 stars. But they forced me to choose a star count. I am contacting BBB. I get a knock on my door during covid. I am an essential worker, worn out and scared for my family, and struggling to meet my bills with the swerve the world was in. I sign for a 7 cent rate. It was a variable rate. They did not offer fixed rate at that time. HMMM... MY BAD. It began to climb in March 2021 monthly. HOWEVER in 2021, The rep I talked to could not give me a particular month, fixed rates became availabel but I was not notified of this so not given the option to lock in when it was .14 cents in March of 2021. My rate has climbed to .23 cents per kilowatt hour. I politely requested a rebate/refund be sent to PECO from March 2021 up to now, March 2023. This is not an option,, the rep on the phone does not have an upper management phone number, contact information, nothing, to offer me except the call back in 2-3 days. I feel I have a battle ahead of me. SHADY, SHADY business practice.

      AWFUL!
I’m with Inspire since 2015. Everything was just fine until I have my solar panels installed in February 2018. Since then, it took me 3 years to make them change anniversary day. Every year they would issue a credit for extra energy in October instead of February and I would have to call several times to resolve the issue. Finally they fixed that last year, and credit hasn’t been issued in October, but… it hasn’t been issued in February either! So I had to call them again! First they told me to contact PSE&G (my local utility company). I did that, but PSE&G apparently has nothing to do with that, since Inspire is the company who supplies energy to my home. I called them back again. I was promised several call backs and none of them happened yet! And issue was sent to they Operations, but only God knows what they do there, because what supposed to happened automatically more than a month ago didn’t happened even after me calling them 5 times already!

The salesguy showed his chart that listed what I would be paying with Inspire. Inspire rate was lower than what I currently was paying. I signed up. Got my bill, and it went from PSE&G $262.00 to Inspire $421.59 not what I was expecting. the rate they showed me was bogus to sign on to their program. Their true rate is 18.19 kilowatt and the PSE&G rate is 13.12 kilowatts. I was expecting savings not to pay much higher rates. I was scammed won't happen again.

Scam company!! I called and canceled, even got a confirmation number. Company never sent cancellation to BGE. Now I have two numbers for cancellation. BGE gave me a bureau to call to make them issue the cancellation. My bill tripled in the first month!! That is wild

I was harassed I and followed around a store by an employee who wouldn’t take my answer of no that I don’t want to sign up and I was signed up when saying no. I also never signed any type of paperwork to sign up leading me to believe I didn’t get signed up until months later my electric bill was incredibly high and they told me a third party was on my bill. I called inspire and they told me they had me on recording agreeing to sign up but fail to provide this so called recording. I always asked them if on this recording they heard me say no several times while the employee followed me around. When I did cancel, they choose to bill you a few more times and refuse to get off the bill when you tell them they need to. I now have an over $200 electric bill for an only 700 sq ft apartment. My charge from my actual electric company was only $80 and this company added an extra $153 to my bill. I’ve called several times asking them to get off of my bill and to stop charging me when I was unlawfully signed up and canceled my account with them and they say they fix it then don’t.

I got several fliers about Inspire and checked them out online. I was excited about the idea of clean energy. I called the number on the flier to find out information about electricity rates. The rep got my info but when I started asking about cost per kilowatt hour, she disconnected the call. I assumed that was the end of it. But what really happened was she signed me up without my consent.
My initial rate doubled to $159.99/month flat rate for electricity usage. I assumed this was due to volatile market conditions, but then I started reading some customer reviews. It took me a while to catch on, but when I finally got in touch, I had just talked to two field reps who had come to my door to alert me that my rates had spiked. They looked at my last energy bill from my provider and said I used about half of what I was being charged. They said I should be entitled to a refund. The field reps were empathetic and gave me the feeling that Inspire would help me, because I really did want to keep on a clean energy plan.
I called Inspire on Tuesday February 21 and talked to Christian. He listened to my complaint. He said he was sorry but it was essentially my fault for not checking mail or communications from Inspire that informed me my rates were increasing. When I asked for some remedy in the form of a refund he said he would check with his management team. He retuned a minute later and said they couldn't refund me the excess (roughly $490) because it was already "energy used", even though I didn't use nearly the amount in the flat rate. They offered me $40 in compensation and said take it or you can discontinue our service. I said what about being signed up against my knowledge? Christian was apologetic, but gave me a lovely life lesson: "Sometimes, people are dishonest." So I dropped their service and lost some money. A lot of other customers are losing money in this way. Sometimes, energy companies are dishonest. Clean energy, or clean out your wallet?
