Yahoo has Yahoo Plus for $5 a month with a free trial. I cant pay for this service unless I sign in. The issue is there's an old phone number attached to my yahoo account which prohibits me from accessing it. Their customer support even tried to extort a driver's license/state ID from me after providing all the information that I have. I dont understand how we can conduct business within each other when im not able to log in, esp with it being attached to an old number.Business Response

I have web hosting service for my business, hosted on *******. I originally registered with Yahoo web service about 15 years ago and in recent years, they have changed names to ******* and nor *******. As a customer I have not been made aware of any changes until I log in. One of the foundations of hosting websites is allowing customers to make changes to their websites, live upon being published. Websites are the most accurate and up-to-date way for business owners to update their customers. I am a small business owner who uses my website to publish my monthly offerings (I teach cooking classes). For over a week, ******* has had a 404 error for my schedule links and when I crafted work-arounds (hosting my schedules on an external site and changing the pop-*** and notes on my site to explain and address this), the site failed to publish my updates, This makes my website unusable, my offerings undiscoverable and makes me seem a negligent business owner-- absolutely not the case. I have contacted ******* daily for advice and updates on how to address the problem and have simply been told that the engineers are working on it and it will be resolved "soon." Soon has been at leasr 1 week and that translates to $1000s in lost business. Websites take some to build and I can't pop up a working, attractive alternative on an alternate site. They have offered no refunds for the down service, no updates as to resolution and no empathy for how and why this impacts their customers. I am paying for a service (web hosting) and am not receiving it.Business Response

February 26, 2023 I have blocked out of my yahoo mail account for over six months. I got back into my yahoo mail account on December 1, 2022. At that time, I cancel all Subscriptions I had with Yahoo. The only one I had was Yahoo Mail Plus which I was being charge $5.00 a month. Yahoo charge me $5.00 for the month of December, January and February 2023. Then Yahoo says I have a balance $9.18. I do not see how. I cancel all my subscriptions and should not have a balance or have them taking money out of my checking account. Yahoo has plenty money why are they trying to cheat the consumer.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because :After yahoo got in touch with me over email i provided them with the required information to prove ownership of the account They confirmed that i cleared verification and updated my account for me to regain access. After couple of days they emailed me saying they have deactivated my account with no explanation and without any warning. I have this account for multiple years without issue and suddenly they come one day and deactivate the account. I need yahoo to fix my account accessSincerely,

A old email I have with Yahoo has glitched and sends recover password link to the same email I'm trying to recover the password from. I followed their solutions links till it put me on live chat where the representative (allegedly named ***.) put me through all this stuff including a drivers license scan that took forever to work. Rep gets my account verified and basically says if i want them to give me access I have to subscribe to one of their pay plans, then when i asked about talking to a supervisor the rep closed out and ended the chat real quick with a bunch of copy and paste replies got the same line of BS from calling and waiting an extremely LOOOOONG time. Didn't know it was legal to extort from people this way. Attached is chat log.Business Response

This complaint is against Yahoo with regards to the email address - ************************************* which i have been using for many many years from our home computer . I faced an issue logging into this email although i have the correct password for my email. The issue faced was the mail was forcing me to verify a backup email on my account from years ago which has been purged although i am using my correct username and password. I already contacted Yahoo customer support. and explained the issue. They said they can only resolve the issue after verification of the account to which i agreed . After going through verification for 30-40min and answering all the questions they said my account was verified and they asked me for a new backup email that can be put in place of this old email. Once this was updated i got access to my email. However few days later i ran into the issue again and to my utter surprise the yahoo system had reverted my backup to the old recovery information instead of the updated email. I even have the email confirmation from yahoo of the new email added as the backup recovery to the account. I am asking Yahoo to look into this issue at the earliest and set the updated recovery method which was already updated over the phone . I dont beleive yahoo is doing the right thing by forcing its system to automatically replace users recovery information on its account after it has already been recently updated and verifiedBusiness Response
