August 16,2022 my YAHOO email was hacked and my credentials were removed. I could not change my password or access the email account any further. My identity has been stolen and my personal information has been used and accessed. I contacted yahoo about this issue and insisted my email account be deleted. Yahoo contacted me via email, and basically stated because I DO NOT PAY FOR A PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION THEY COULD NOT HELP ME!! So they have allowed these hackers to continuously use and distribute my personal information, and my families personal information. This is illegal and I think YAHOO is allowing this to happen to others as well. I am reaching out through the BBB for resolution, before legal action is taken.Business Response

Noticed today that my Yahoo email account has been hacked. My recovery emails & phone number have been removed & replaced with the hackers information. Since hacking my account, they've also changed some of my social media profiles, locking me out. Tried filing a complaint through email to their support team but no help was given until I decide to pay. This is completely unacceptable. I refuse to pay for a service that allowed my data to be breached, releasing my private information. That email contains very sensitive information that needs to be recovered sooner rather than later. This incident needs to be resolved.Business Response

In mid October 2022 I have been trying to get into my account with yahoo. I need to change the password, but can not without being charged a premium service charge. My recovery phone number and email address I started the account with I no longer have. I am not sure where to go but have run out of options. My account receives MULTIPLE Camp Legune spam emails. This is insane. I block, send things to the junk/spam folder and nothing is working. Last year I signed up for Yahoo Fantasy Sports+, after the football season I NEVER used the service. On 20/21 October I was charged for an additional year of the service. I immediately went to the website and cancelled and I called customer service asking for a refund because I have no intention of using the service further. I was told "you signed up for the service, YOU MUST PAY WHETHER YOU USED IT OR NOT". As I stated, I have no intention of using this service and I feel I should be entitled to a refund because I never received an email notification that it was going to renew. If I did I would have cancelled before the renewal date. I request a refund of $24.94.

My account was recently hacked and I was in the process of accessing the damage. I even created a special folder where I put all the emails related to the hacker breaking into my account.
I was signed in from 2 computers in my house and the next moment I get forced off my account from both computers.
Even know I have the correct password for my account and correct IP, your system has locked me out and demands I get a security code to another email which I have not used in years.
I had security question when I setup the account and yahoo told me I could use them to recover my password in the event I was locked out yet the system. Now that I"m locked out of the system, no one want to ask my security questions.
One phone agent wanted me to recall from the memory the exact subject of an email I had sent in the past with perfect grammar and even being case sensitive. To make maters worse, I think the agent was not typing in correctly what I was telling him.
He keep yelling at me and was extremely rude during the entire process. I have talked to supervisors who told me that they no one is in control of the system and it just does what it wants. I have never spoken to such unprofessional people who have no clue on what is going on. You can't expect an average person to have a perfect photographic memory down to the smallest detail.
I did call in at one point to complain about a possible hacker on my account and the fact that yahoo was not providing me a 30 day login history.
If you need an exact email that I sent from the account, I can ask my father to print out some recent emails.
The problem is I'm not being that option and the support people say that no one is in control of yahoo. Its all up to some AI which they are submissive to. I can't find any way to escalate a ticket or corporate phone number to get in contact with yahoo. I worry the hacker is destroying my account as we speak while I keep calling every day to get this resolved. Thank you.Business Response

I access my email from my phone which is my only personal device. My phone recently malfunctioned and had to be factory reset to troubleshoot and then still had to be replaced so I lost access to all email accounts (3). I need to get access setup on my replacement phone but because of the two-step verification (which Yahoo recommended over and over to do) I can't get in because my emails are used to verify each other. If I can't access one I can't access any. I know my password and my phone gets the verification. I just need to get access to my accounts again but Yahoo is forcing me to pay $12.99 for a 'premium subscription' to get any kind of service. I even asked for a manager and not only was lied to about multiple company policies/operations I was told (for hours) that no managers were available but no one could say when I would get a call back. I didn't receive a call back even after hours had passed, and still no help. If I asked questions I was told they couldn't help me or I had to pay to get help. It's a scam that to get any kind of basic customer service like access to a free account that you have to pay a service. Eventually I got a manager on the phone who said the same thing. There is no free way to get access to the account now I have to pay for a premium plan so that I can login again. The manager was completely unhelpful and hung up when I wouldn't pay after telling me to call back once I was willing to pay them moneyBusiness Response
