Yahoo is refusing access to my wifes account that has private information on it and in doing so is interfering with her right to access it. They are trying to extort money from users and preventing this right. We are a military family and need access to this email for bills and other necessities. A customer service representative retaliated against us and removed the phone call option to reset the password word on the account to ensure we had to pay to recover the account.Business Response

I have had the Yahoo email account ************************************** since I was 10 years old and it is linked to many important services and personal information.I recently lost access because I no longer have access to the recovery phone number and I have no other way to verify my identity.I also still have access to all my old emails through the Mail app on my iPhone, which proves I am the rightful owner.I find it unfair and frustrating that I am required to pay in order to speak with a support agent.I kindly ask that someone from Yahoo assist me in updating my recovery information and help me regain access to my account.Thank you for your time and understanding.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I am not satisfied with Yahoos response. I have already spent a lot of time trying to solve this issue using Yahoos help page and tools. I only made this complaint because nothing worked. If I had found a solution by myself, I wouldnt have contacted you through the BBB.
This is something urgent for me. My Yahoo account **************************************** is linked to a lot of important accounts in my life, including my ADP account, my bank, and other platforms I cant get into anymore because I lost access to this email.
I still know my password and I can get to the login page, but I get stuck at the part where it asks to confirm with a phone number I dont have anymore. In the Mail app on my iPhone, I can still see all my old emails, but I dont get any new ones anymore and it shows a connection error. So the account still exists and its clearly mine but Im blocked.
I just need someone to help me change the recovery info or give me a way to get back in. Im not asking for technical support or anything extra just access to my own account. Please help me with this. Its really important.
Sincerely,
***** *******Business Response

I use yahoo email for my main email and everything is connected to that email. I have my old phone number connected to that account. A few days ago I was logged out and after contacting yahoo about it they tried to make me pay for paid support to get back into the email account even after saying it was their fault they logged me out for using the mail app on my phone. *** never had to pay for customer service before that is awful. Can you please help me get back into my email?Business Response

My problem is that Yahoo has suddenly locked me out of my e-mail account (A) on May *********. When I try to login, I get the "Is it really you?" prompt, which sends a recovery code to another yahoo email (B), and when signing into that email, also gets the "Is it really you?" prompt, which sends a recovery code back to (A), thus creating a looping cycle. I am in ******, and there is no customer service accessible here.I would like to regain access to my e-mail, as my cell phone plan, and bank account are both linked to my account.Business Response

Over the years I have lost access to the backup mail and my old phone, which is foreign (**********) for my *********************************** email is lost and I don't have access to it anymore. I however do remember my password and my exact birthday inside it and I hope to reclaim this account. However, to reclaim an account I have to basically pay just to retrieve an important email which is super annoying. I notice that I am not the only person who have issue with the paid customer support option as many have had the same issues before me so I hope to have this resolved. Please contact me US ***************,Business Response

Cannot access my account without accessing paid customer support. Free means of customer support are customer forum or automated chat assistance which does not resolve the issue just directs you to call the paid line without. Trying to access account even once claims I have tried to many times and will not allow me to continue.Business Response
