I recently got locked out of my yahoo mail. I went through all the steps on their recovery page. However, my phone number has changed and I do not know the emails that were listed. I went to my phone carrier trying to get them to help me change my number. I have spent days working on this. **************** said because its an old phone number they can not help me. I put in for a new job and now I can not complete the hire process because everything is in that email. I have had the same email since college(23 years). I am fairly tech savvy and have tried everything!!!! Please help. Recreating a new email is not an option.

Multiple of my emails have been locked at the same time requiring multi-factor authentication through backup emails. However, I cannot access any of these emails because all of the emails that I use for backup are with Yahoo. The process to recover each account is behind a paywalled support call. I have had most of these emails for a very long time and there was no obvious disclosure. Many other services provide reliable ways to recover lost accounts, and **********************'s services do not live up to that standard, especially considering that this is a problem purely on the end of Yahoo. The recovery phone numbers attached to the emails are also old and no longer active, preventing me from logging in despite knowing the correct passwords. Finally, this issue forces me to provide my identification, credit card number, and phone number to Yahoo if I were to try to use their paywalled support call, which is not an initial requirement for possessing a Yahoo email address.

Thank you BBB. I decided not to retrieve all my yahoo accounts. They asked me to send a copy of my I.D. with a picture holding my I.D. with clear picture of me. The yahoo accounts I could not access anymore are all with banks accounts so I just preferred to change an email provider. Thank you so much for a quick response.

Yahoo held my account for ******. My verification method was my school email. The school deleted my school email. I was logged into my yahoo email on my phone. Yahoo claimed there was suspicious activity on my account and required verification. I not longer have access to the email in my verification method. I spoke with live support and asked if they could add my phone number to the verification methods. Yahoo live support stated they can, but will only add my phone number as a verification method if I purchase their yahoo plus pro subscription for $12.99. I have had this account for 27 years. After paying the $12.99 subscription fee to access my account I was asked if there was anything else they could for me. I asked them to cancel my subscription now that I have access to my account. I was told they can not help me with that. So much for plus pro service.

I have 2 email addresses with Yahoo. I received a message that my password is incorrect and to reset it, I have to call and pay for them to reset the password. I no longer have access to the recovery phone number, so they are saying the password cannot be reset without paying. I entered the password today so I know it is correct. It locked me out at 1:30 this afternoon. Yahoo is a free email server so I should not have to pay for my password to be reset. The email addresses in question are ************************************ and *********************************

Primary complaint is that there is no way whatsoever to contact Yahoo for tech support. They ask for "feedback" but nothing ever happens. Changes to their Yahoo mail program that forced us to accept the new format and would not allow continuation of the preferred. Features (such as a vertical scrollbar, deleting large numbers of emails disappear and the recommended fixes do not work. I should not be forced to switch to Gmail (and since most of my daily dealings are in Yahoo--changing would be an enterprise!) simply because they cannot get their platform to consistently work on Chromebook. Downloading Firefox did not solve problems, caused more so I cancelled it. Surely I am not the only one complaining, but they are so big, they don't care.

I am not able to access my email account due to no longer having access to the recovery account. I have had that account for about 15 years, and everything that I do is associated with it. Losing that account would truly affect my livelihood.

My mother in law has had a yahoo email account for years. Knows her account and password details. However, is being asked for verification and the number on file has the wrong area code so she is not receiving messages. The alternative is to have an email sent to her account which is not letting her in (useless). The infuriating part of this is the lack of customer support. No phone numbers to speak to a human. And constantly been funneled to a paid service to have her issue corrected. This feels like an utter scam. Im not sure why the area code in her phone number is even incorrect. I question if this was done without her knowledge at this point, given this shady practice. We do not feel comfortable paying for this as it feels very much like a scam and even if its legitimate I feel it is unwarranted to charge a fee for such a service.
