I have 3 emails with ************************** and I had a phone number change. I updated my phone numbers on two of my accounts and accidentally left off my business account. In attempts to contact customer service to resolve the issue and add my new phone number to my business account, I was rudely told by customer service they WILL NOT help me without paying a monthly premium and without me being a paying customer they will not speak to me. I asked for the yahoo concierge department, and I was told I am lying they do not have a concierge department, and no one left me a voicemail from that department. I was called a liar as well as refused any help without payment. This company is a scam and they outsource service and these people are awfulBusiness Response

I recently had to reset my computer and lost all my saved passwords, When I went to log into yahoo! i couldnt remember my password, the phone number set is from over a decade ago and is no longer my active phone number so recovery options are not available. Instead of being a normal service, yahoo! is holding my email hostage and trying to charge me to reset the password. On literally every single website Ive ever been on, the password reset is a simple send code to phone or email service that takes less than 2 minutes, why is yahoo! not only outdated and trying to charge me for thisBusiness Response

Complaint: 23053441
I am rejecting this response because: duplicate copy and paste response, same as the previous message and remains a blatant lie "full on lie, they reached out to me once and ive already given them my email and my phone number, how did they lose it already? Was it between the extortion attempt or keeping me on hold for over an hour while refusing to provide any help ", they are still outright lying and going out of their way to provide no help or support. At this point the issue needs to be raised to someone higher up at yahoo, as the person and people they have provided so far have gone out of their way to be unhelpful and have lied continually

My Yahoo email was hacked. I cannot get into it. My backup authorization email and phone number were changed/deleted. I can't access it to change anything back, and am not going to pay this premium service just go get help getting into an email that I've owned for over two decades. I have very important information on my email.Business Response

Yahoo thinks I still have an i phone. Instead of helping. They hide their costumer support behind a pay wall. No other companies do that. Quite honestly I'm thinking about suing them and bankrupting themBusiness Response

I have had a yahoo account for over 10 years. But over these 10 years I have not had the same phone number associated with the account. I KNOW the password and email to my account and any other additional information needed, but I am locked out due to not being able to verify with an old phone number. I called for support, but they are saying we have to "pay" for their service in order to change the phone number associated with the account. This is a scam, I have never had an issue logging in until they added this new verification and payed support. All I need to do is change the phone number on my account so I can verify log in. It is not my fault that yahoo added extra measures to log in without alerting everyone to make sure their account details are correct so nothing like this happens. I know for a fact I'm not the only one with this issue either, as there are several people filing complaints for this same issue.Business Response

Although I have access to my Yahoo account on my Iphone, and I know my password to my Yahoo account, I can't gain access any longer on a desktop or any other device as after I input my password it asks for me to verify a code sent to a recovery email address. I no longer have access to the recovery email as it was a college email that I no longer have access to. The only way to fix is by calling in Yahoo and paying a premium service of for them to tell me they cant verify my ID with my email account because of me using an alternate spelling of my name of ONE LETTER when I created my email account when I was 15 years old. Also since the *** don't match since I put a different year of birth. This is ridiculous, I have been a customer for years and have all my accounts linked to this email address.Business Response

Yahoo Mail (owned by *******) is making a habit of blocking my login attempts every couple of month despite verification and backup email claiming all in attempt to force me to pay for ************ services or risk losing my account altogether. When talking to ************ services, they also demanded my drivers license number and credit card before continuing. To protect my identity? I stopped the conversation. This is also happening to the backup account. Talk about extortion! Or Verizon/YahooMail has been hacked and they're just not publicly admitting it?Business Response

Yahoo does ask to verify members are still owners of an account they are accessing for various reasons as outlined in our help page ************************************************************************************Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Yahoo's response was to email a link to their HELP page that ignores the fact that you do not meet any of the listed criteria for their continually blocking your email and your emergency backup email and has looping AI ChatBot that sends you to PAY UP to talk to a human page (extortion). They followed up by sending an email link to their 47 ****************** of Service Agreement that, to distill it says Yahoo can and will do whatever, whenever to any user and the user has NO recourse (except to close your account and just try to find an email provider that doesn't strip your data and do the same thing) and be grateful we let you into your account and your emergency backup account long enough to read Yahoo's response. This to a 28-year customer. **********************/*******= $182.93 billion. Welcome to the new Golden Age of corporate America!**********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
They did send a followup email:

I am rejecting this response because:They haven't sent any response to my initial rejection. They haven't send anything since their initial response on March 17, 2025. But we all understand why - as a giant, wealthy. powerful corporation they don't have to. Their "Updated Terms of Service" in legalese says they will do "whatever, whenever they wish to the consumer and if the consumer doesn't like it just try finding another email provider that doesn't do the same....ha ha ha." (paraphrased) For extra laughs, they changed their email setup, format again and this time users cannot return to "classic".
Thanks BBB for trying and add mine to the group you may be collecting of lost causes on this subject.
Sincerely,
**** ********
