5/24-25 until now.Yahoo has locked me out of my email address, and is trying to use decades old account info (like old phone #'s and email addresses) and wont let me prove my identity or change my password by using another email unless I call and pay them a service fee. That is the only other option. The account has been active since roughly 2008, and this is the first time its ever been locked out.The email above is my active gmail. ************************************** is the account in question that i need access too. On 5/28/25 I purchased a new phone. I attempted to login in to my yahoo email account and was locked out. I went through all of the account recovery steps and still was locked out and told to call the Yahoo support number. They verified my identity through my drivers license and account information and then told me in order to regain access to my account I would need to pay for a customer support subscription for $12 a month. I was very frustrated because I had already verified my identity. Yahoo is a free email service and I have had this account for nearly 15 years. I have numerous important accounts linked to that email. I feel like Yahoo held my account for ****** and made me pay to regain access to my own information. It feels like a total scam. They reduced the charge to a little over $5 and reset my account once I paid but they would not release the account until I paid. Now I have to go through the whole process again to cancel this extortion service so I don't get charged next month.Business Response

I have been trying to seek help to get in my email addres for the last 4 days each time i called it has been run arounds for day Easch time i send in verification for ID they keep taling aboy it cant verified Which on tuesday 5/27/2025 8pm that night it was They trued to run my card so i can get in But came up with some excuse that my card was not able to be runned Now i can not get in my account for days lost out on a lot of deals All my important stuff is linked to that account and i have no way to get in or nor is they helping me I had that account over 20 plus years Plus on top of that tuesday when they ask to submit ID and things i never had to do a darn selfie to gwt in my account at all I already paid ***** *** i havenot gotten a refund for that It has been run arouunds run aroundsBusiness Response

Ive had yahoo mail for over decade for my email *********************************** on may 13th I was locked out of access and after many attempts to regain access with password but unsuccessful I tried to seek help from yahoo, on may 27th I called provided number ************** and they said no problem they would help, after being on phone for 20 mins and getting right to the point of fixing the issue they demanded card number and said would be ***** month to continue, now my whole lively hood is in limbo and after doing research Ive found they are doing this to thousands of people, all I want is them to unlock my email and Ive read this is one of the only ways to get help,Business Response

So I have been locked out of my yahoo account that I have owned for over 20 years. Its asking me to send a code to my recovery address and that one is also a very old email I no longer have access to. I tried called support and I was told they can do nothing to help me get back into my account. Please help me with this I simply want to get back into my yahoo account without all of the drama and headaches. Ive had my yahoo account ******************************************* with since high school. I have had access to the account until 5/13/2025. I received a new phone and changed my number. I reach out to tech support who insisted several times to verify my account despite me informing them that my maiden name has since changed. Well I have failed the verification with them over 5 times. I still utilize the email address to reach out to my kids teachers, family, grad school, and current bills. On May 27, 2025 attempted to login to my @************************** account on my laptop computer (which I have had for 14 years). Like others was asked to enter a 6 digit verification code that was sent to a now defunct recovery e-mail address that I have no access to. After trying many times, 2 days in a row to use the "free help to fix problem" nothing was working. I did manage to find an add mobile phone to get a code to verify. I did and they never sent it codes, I tried numerous times on May 28, 2025. Then they told me I did resend code too many times and would have to wait till tomorrow or later to try again. Also they never pushed the verify requirement, it always said remind me later. I searched Yahoo's help pages to find customer support contact and found that only paid monthly subscription was needed. No e-mail or customer support contact was available. I want to retain this e-mail account and would like to change the recovery e-mail address in order to receive any required verification codes on my laptop. I have my Yahoo account user IDs and passwords. I should not have to pay to access this account. I would like customer support to contact me to rectify this situation.Business Response

My yahoo email somehow got logged out on my phone and the recovery assistance has my old phone number and will not allow me to change my password or do anything so I call yahoo customer assistance and they tell me I HAVE TO PURCHASE tech support to help me. I have to sign up for a plan. No other website does this its absolutely ridiculous. My entire life is linked to this email and I need access now!!Business Response
