Been with yahoo since pretty much their inception. Cannot login into my account when I password reset it sends it to my phone then requires a email sent to account I havent used in years when I tried to resolve they want a scanned drivers license ( ******* is in ***** ) then to pay a premium in computer terms a terminal loop. I will not provide a scanned copy of my drivers license to someone not even in ******* this is a terminal loop of making people pay premium prices, unfair business practices and irresponsible request for personal data that I only give to people in person, definitely not over the internet and with no way to ensure security once i doI just want to reset a password horrible policies that breech customer expectation and false advertising of free email for *************************************************** emails.Yahoo!

Yahoo Finance Stock conversations are being deleted for NO reason. To prove this, I had my wife post a comment for the first time, and it was automatically deleted. All I get is automatic responses noting a violation in the community guidelines. This is all INACCURATE.Yahoo!

I recently purchased Yahoo Mail + and Nord ***. The *** did not work on my phone. It was junk. So I called and canceled both. Now Yahoo staff is harassing me in my email because I have a free account. My emails keep disappearing and they unsubscribe me to my subscriptions. Your staff harasses customers. Nobody wants to purchase from a company that hates its customers. Yahoo should be shut down permanently.Yahoo!
Date: 08/10/2023
Yahoo does not have the ability to "unsubscribe a user from any subscriptions" unless they are a Yahoo subscription and the user has requested to be unsubscribed. A Yahoo user with a paid service, is able to cancel their paid service at any time via their account. The user agrees to a Terms of Service when signing up for Yahoo paid support and services and is sent emails about the products. If a user is accessing their email via a third party mail client on their phone (such as apple mail), Yahoo is not responsible for missing emails due to the third party mail client.Review fromTimothy M

I have access to my email and need to change my contact method on the email. i know my password and use my email on a daily basis. i need to update my contact method so i can log into a desktop computer. i cannot do this due to me not having the same phone number or iphone 11 from when i initially signed up or last updated my information. when i called customer care, they told me i needed to subscribe to premium service. while initially declining to pay, at the end of the day i was forced to pay due to yahoo not having any other options. when speaking with a representative, they were not able to authenticate my email due to the information being different; this is why i need to update the information to begin with. they told me due to not having access, i cannot update or even pay for a premium subscription. i need help updating my information on my email and was willing to subscribe to a service to do so. only to be told i cant due to my contact information being out of date.Yahoo!

Im locked out of an account Ive had for 5 + years. Yahoo decides to lock me out for reason and they expect me to pay for their service to get it back. How is this not illegal?? Even through the free service it still prompts you back to premium. Someone start a lawsuitYahoo!

Is it legal for Yahoo to remove your account for no reason without your consent or without being informed?? Just like ************************ have had an account at ********************** for 21 years until last June, when suddenly and without warning I couldn't sign into my account or was allowed to change my password. Since then I have spoken almost daily to at least a dozen agents unable to help me because of the fact that my claim had been "escalated" and there was nothing else they could do at that point. I was asked to provide an alternate email address to receive a message with "step by step instructions" on how to recuperate my email but that message only had a link to a screen where I found myself held up again because of the same "escalating" factor, which does not make any sense. I have not yet been asked to pay $12.99 for support but I am now sure it is coming, and the fact that Yahoo uses this "strategy" to get more money from their account users is the worst a business can do. I preferred Yahoo over other email providers but at this point I only want to make everybody aware to never open an account at **********************. I have also written to the **************** via Internet, and mailed and faxed this claim to the Copyright Agent at Yahoo. They don't' even deserve 1 Star.I am thankful to BBB for giving me the opportunity to tell my story of disappointment, frustration and anger over this unlawful experience, which I wish no one.Yahoo!

If I could give it NO STARS I WOULD GLADLY DO THAT. I have recordings of me telling them that a fraudulent account that has been started in my name and that I want it removes they were no help really didn't even care or try to help. I kept asking for supervisor or manager they **** didn't even know what she was talking about. I had to call 3 different times and be on the phone with them for over 2 hours and accomplished nothing. One manager told me that they would put the request in for it to be deleted and he would send me the verification the he put the request in and I never received it. I provided MY ACTUAL PERSONAL EMAIL to them already and MY PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER also. Manager ***************** up on me and I have that conversation recorded too. I just want this account removed because it is holding up work I need to get done for work and school. Its like they trained the reps to say we aren't able to this or that, I know when I worked in call center you were supposed to try and help the person in need as much as possible and I didn't feel that same CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I would never make an account with ********************** like I explained to them 1 because of situations like this, they are ALWAYS getting hacked or something of that nature and I don't want no parts of it. I don't understand how y'all are okay with customers knowing you for security failures, y'all literally admit to it in your 10k reports. LIKE I SAID IF I COULD GIVE IT 0 STARTS I WOULD PROUDLY DO THAT.Yahoo!

I should have CANCELED ALL THINGS YAHOO years ago... :( I have been paying $5/mo for years to have Yahoo Mail Plus, simply to forward email through to another email solution. I recently noticed that I would like the payment method on file to be updated to a different credit card. I called support this morning from the cell (phone number) on my account. I gave them my email address, which matched the account, and I was calling from the phone number that matched the account as well. I then gave them my name, which also matched the account. I went on to tell her that when I login to my account on desktop chrome, it is asking my to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus, which I already have and am paying for. I'm not looking for information on the cards or payment info. I'm simply trying to find out where to login and manage payment methods in general - perhaps through a mobile app or something. The rep then wanted various information from me in order to 'verify the account' before she could talk to me about anything. Again, I simply needed to know if there was another area that I should be logging in to review. She refused to find a viable solution to 'verify' me though. If Yahoo Mail Plus has different account settings, whether you're logging in on your desktop, as opposed to a mobile app for the same application, this should be corrected immediately and is a terrible technology and a very confusing business practice for patrons. Yahoo should be ashamed for not staying up with technology and improving customer experience. If you still use ********************** for anything, I strongly advise you to move to a platform that provides a quality product for their customers. Looks like you've just lost another one Yahoo. What a horrible customer-facing product model.Yahoo!

If I could give NO STARS I WOULD! I have had an account with ********************** for 20 plus years. I broke my phone and lost everything. Had to get a new phone with new number. Can't access my account. Went through verifying my account with my government issued ID 4 times!!!! Asked to speak to supervisor and was told NO. I have sent everything yahoo would need to verify me. They refuse to give me access to my account I have had with them for 20+ years unless I pay $12.99 a month for support. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous!!!Yahoo!

The Yahoo Team has received the details of this complaint and has reached out to ******************** to investigate and assist further. ******************** has provided the details regarding the account in question and explained that she again has access after getting her phone fixed. Upon review of her interactions with customer support, ******************** was unable to successfully verify ownership of the account as recovery options other than her broken phone number were not updated, and she could not correctly answer other verifiable questions about the account. Now that ******************** has her phone fixed and is back in her account, we recommended steps to take to prevent this from happening again while we continue to review additional verification options while balancing the need to keep accounts secure.Review fromZach T
