If you're all wondering if you'll get a special exception on them trying to charge you for account recovery, don't bother My sister lost access to her phone that she'd normally use for account recovery because her ex-husband turned out to be abusive trash, and she lost that phone as a result. She didn't establish an alternative email with them and deliberately used a password she wouldn't normally easily remember so he couldn't access it if things went sideways.Even after we explained she didn't have access to any money, that she's rebuilding herself financially, asked for a supervisor, SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED THAT A DOMESTIC SITUATION WAS WHY SHE COULDN'T PAY, Yahoo did not care and ignored what she was saying in the chat support completely. What's especially messed up about this is that they now disconnect on her getting onto chat, we're just trying to have a resolution and don't think it's fair when she's provided her ID, answers to account questions and everything else several times. The last time she answered the questions, they indicated that they lined up but then said they couldn't do anything without her paying for their paid support services. They tried to upcharge for *****, then ****, then **** before disconnecting when she asked for an exception due to life circumstances.Yahoo should be ashamed of themselves. My sister is thinking she'll lose evidence of the abuse she went through and is distraught. At the very least, any company worth its salt would have a process in place for people in her situation. The representatives she spoke to(this is one out of four) didn't even show the slightest bit of sympathy nor acknowledged her situation. Disgusting.I'm in disbelief that they're trying this hard to profit off of the situations of an abuse victim. I'd like to believe this was a mistake, and maybe the reps didn't know of a process that can still help, but right now we're not banking on it.

The Yahoo customer service line is completely unprofessional. While I was asking a genuine question about my yahoo account the representatives seemed confused. Their answers to my questions were incoherent and unsure. On top of that their representatives were very rude. They asked me if they could speak to be parents because I am an adult with a squeaky voice. I told them numerous times that I was an adult. I asked them if they would be happy if i spoke to them negatively about their voice. To which the representative replied, "If you don't get your parents, I will hang up on you."The supervisor was also worrisom. I don't know if they have a worker shortage and the good employees quit, but they should work on their customer service training.

We had an issue regarding how yahoo cusotmer support handled and can not handle possible fraud on a yahoo email address for non yahoo customers. My elderly mother received an alert from her ID theft monitoring company, LifeLock, regarding her information being leaked to the dark web for InstantCheckMate.com's databreach. When I pulled her record on instantcheckemate.com they listed her legitimate email address and two other email addresses that were not hers. One erroneous address was a yahoo email the other a hotmail address. My mother does not have a yahoo account and I had no other way to contact yahoo except to call their paid subscription customer support to report the problem and request that they look up the email to see if it was opened under my mother's name or not. The customer rep was not rude but she was not helpful either. She told me to have instantcheckmate remove the email from her record with them and she mentioned the limit of what she could do. I do realize that instantcheckmate could have erroneously associated the yahoo email address to my mother's name but I have no way of knowing if they did or not. Only Yahoo can look at that record to see whose name the account was created under and if it was created under my mother's name then it would be fraud! This left me very dissastisfied with how fraud/possible fraud is handled and not handled by Yahoo. I contacted *********** customer service chat about the hotmail account and they looked at the account was able to tell me that it was created under a different name. *********** help was a relief because my mother has been a victim of ID theft in the past where LifeLock had to step in to help resolve the problem and clear her. Yahoo did not want to be bothered with checking to see if an email account was possibly created fraudently or not. Our request was legitimate; we hope that the email was incorrectly assoicated.

Last year I used yahoo via my gmail just fine. This year, they have broken the ****** auth flow somehow. I can pass the ****** side of the auth, but Yahoo shows me an error. When I go to reset my password, I again and asked to authenticate via the ****** auth flow. This (obviously) results in the same error. I contact support, and in order to get help, I must PAY for premium support access. Because of some poor code that Yahoo shipped? I reach out on ******** and am redirected to a paid support phone line, of which they cannot waive the fee.So ultimately: Yahoo breaks their platform and demands fees from their customers in order to fix it? I am absolutely bamboozled.

I saw an ad on yahoo & redacted to me a website which was a scam. I placed the order, but never received the items. Now, the fraud website have credit card information. Yahoo should be held accountable for directing viewers to fraud websites. Below is the fraud web site:www.todaysalesshop.com

I was notified that I could not access my email for 1 hour and could not remedy this issue; kept repeating even after an hour. You can't talk to anyone at Yahoo without paying which seems illegal. Horrible customer service. Switching to Gmail.

I just spent an hour on the phone with a woman who did not deserve my absolute frustration with this company. I have held a Yahoo! email for 14 years. Anytime I had an issue with password retrieval customer service would help. NOW if you have 2-step verification and you haven't updated you recovery email, they WILL charge you the premium fee or a one time fee of $9.99 for a simple email recovery change and password change. This is a scam. It took the woman less than two minutes to change said email and I am out $9.99. I don't appreciate this company taking advantage of its users like this. Yahoo! account users, make sure that if you have a 2-step verification system that you know your information, because even if you know one of them they will still make you pay before you can enter your account.

I called Yahoo customer service because I could not get into my account. I have the app for my email in my phone but NEEDED to log into the email on my computer. I called, after seeing online that they charge to speak to them for assistance. While they never asked me for my card info, I was sent links to scan the front and back of my ID. which I didn't think anything of until they told me they can't verify me with my ID then HUNG UP on me. So, I called back. SAME THING. AT this point I was curious as to if my information is even safe.... why would an email need my ID rather than security questions that are set up. I called one last time requesting to speak to a supervisor. I was spoken over, told no because I refused to scan my ID again through the link being sent to me. Overall the customer service was horrible and I will no longer use Yahoo. Absolute terrible experience and no help when I needed the assistance for my job. To be denied when asking to speak to a manager is questionable. To take my personal information then hang up on me is concerning. Don't call Yahoo customer support. Just use Gmail instead.

This user is correct, ********************** uses a Photo ID verification method if the user does not have access to the phone number or alternate email address on the account. We no longer use outdated security questions. If a Photo ID does not match the information on the account, we are unable to assist. It is up to the user to keep current and accurate information on file.

As a customer of AOL for many years, I have recently tried to cancel my AOL subscription twice. Each time they tell me if I do, my information will be vulnerable to others. It's like they are trying to hold you hostage. I am completely disappointed and outraged that I have to pay $4.99 each month, just so my information should be kept private. This is ridiculous! AOL should be legally held to protect customer information whether current or former.
