This is the only place that I found where I can provide a public review for Yahoo Mail.I have had a Yahoo Mail account since I was 18 (a little over 20 years now). I logged in today on my computer and they now will not allow customers to opt-out of the new AI generated mail ************ is my complaint:NO AI NO WHITE NOT ABLE TO USE A THEAM AND TURN MY SCREEN DARK HATE NOT BEING ABLE TO "OPT OUT"Y'ALL ARE NOT ******. STOP TRYING TO LOOK LIKE THEM. THE REASON I HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH YOU IS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ****** AND YOU DON'T HAVE THIS S***** SEPERATION IN INBOXES.GIVE ME BACK THE OPTION TO OPT OUT. I HATE THIS NEW LOOK IT AWEFUL!After reading the previous issues and reviews on this website, I realize my issues are mostly cosmetic (but I DO NOT WANT AI).I will be looking for a new email provider as this one completely disregards it's customers issues. I will not be undervalued as a customer. Thank our Father in Heaven, we have a free market.***ZERO STARS!!***Yahoo!

I am extremely dissatisfied with Yahoos customer service and business practices. I have been locked out of my account recovery options because I got a new phone, hence a new phone number. Despite multiple attempts to regain access, Yahoo is forcing me to pay for a Yahoo+ premium subscription just to update my phone numbersomething that should be a basic and free service.I have contacted Yahoo support through ********, *******, and their online help center, and I have spoken to two different representatives, both of whom were rude and unhelpful. Today, I called and spoke to a representative named Ashya, who became aggressive and started yelling at me after I expressed frustration over having to pay for account recovery. I was consistently met with unprofessionalism and hostility instead of actual assistance. She flat-out told me that without paying for Yahoo+, she could not help mewhich is ridiculous for a simple phone number update.I cannot afford to pay for a subscription. I lost my job on January 3rd, and I need access to this email account to keep up with the companies I am applying for. Yahoo is holding my personal data hostage and making it impossible for me to access important emails unless I give them money. This is nothing but corporate greed, and their lack of genuine customer support is disgraceful.I plan to submit my story to ABC13 News to bring awareness to how Yahoo is ripping off customers and refusing to provide basic assistance unless we pay up. Their money-hungry and spiteful tactics toward non-paying users should be investigated.I urge the Better Business Bureau to hold Yahoo accountable for these unethical business practices and ensure they stop exploiting people who just need help accessing their accounts.Yahoo!

Yahoo asks users to update their recovery information on their account frequently and advises users to keep their mobile and alternate email addresses up to date. Yahoo support is a paid service for users who are not able to self resolve issues. Users must be able to complete the verification process before we are able to assist with account access. If the agent is not able to verify a user, we are not able to move forward with assistance regardless of paid service or not.Review fromLauren S

I would give 0 stars if I could, especially to PAID premium support specialist ******, who hung up on me twice. My OLD phone/# was stolen and I lost access to my two yahoo emails. each one of them was the recovery for the other. I no longer had access to the phone #, so I was forced to pay to talk to support (which is ridiculous! Whats the point of security questions then?!) I got access into the first one, and that should have been the end of my problems. As email #1 was the recovery email for email #2. I get into #1 with the help of somebody who is not ******. I do the password recovery option for #2. Get a code emailed to #1 The code only for the website to act as if that was not enough & I needed to have 3 factor authentication, which I did not sign up for!! So I called premium support that I just paid for, get ****** and explain the problem. she sends yet another recovery code to the email #1, & that should have again been the end of my problem. Instead, she made me get a recovery code from a Yahoo website and then verify by sending in my I.D & a selfie, so I do. She says it didn't work & hangs up on me. I wait a minute for her to call me back. She doesnt, so I call back and I get her again. She makes me go through the whole process again. And by this time, my phone number has been used for verification too many times and so I need to send it to a different cell phone. Who the h*** has two cell phones? I let her know. I didn't sign up for 3 factor authentication. & if I have access to my recovery email then that that should be enough! I tell her she needs to escalate me to somebody further, and she argues and instead she hangs up on me again. Why the h*** am I paying for premium service? When you guys hire people like ******, who can't even do regular customer service?!? Again? I did not sign up 3 factor authentication, and miss ****** has no business being in customer service. Absolutely atrocious policy and customer treatment!!Yahoo!

If there's something unusual about your sign-in or recent activity, we'll ask you to go through another verification step after you've entered the correct password. This is an important security feature that helps to protect your account from unauthorized access. You may be prompted to get a verification code on your Yahoo app, recovery phone number, or recovery email address for any of the following reasons:Yahoo notices suspicious account ************'re using an unfamiliar browser or **********'re traveling away from your usual ************ sign in while using a VPN or a proxy **********'ve logged in with a private or incognito window. There are many attempts to sign in with incorrect passwords. The "First time signing in from this device" message ***********'ve cleared your browser history or data cache including cookies.Additional information on this can be found here: ************************************************************************************Review fromJene B

On January 13, I went on a business trip to ******. When I arrived in ****** I wanted to connect to my yahoo emails but the connection was denied. I am asked to check the email address linked to my account, I did it, I am asked then to change my password, I did it and then again nothing. Access to my emails still denied. I reached the customer service who told me there was nothing they could do. I contacted the costumer service on *****. They answered that they will contact me through my personal gmail account.2 days ago I received an email from a certain ***** from Yahoo concierge on my gmail box. He asked me to provide him with the latest emails sent from my yahoo account with all the addresses. I tortured my memory but I was able to respond to his request by detailing the emails from my partners. The next day he wrote "Thank you for this information. Unfortunately, because you specified this account is used for a business we will need this attached form filled out along with something that has your name and the name of the business on it (e.g. a business card, company letterhead, legal documents, etc...) before we can assist you with regaining access to this account. "Regards,***** Yahoo Concierge Team I read the document that says:"Please Print Clearly"Business Name: Email address for this account. (Required):Last 4 digits of the billing method used for payment of this account: (Required): - Please allow the following person(s) to be listed as Account Holder(s) on this account:. Attach a copy of the following required documents company letterhead business card of new account holder"I realised that Yahoo just sent me a scammer. I would never thought Yahoo could block accounts for no reason and then ask for banking information. Authorities should be aware of that.Yahoo!

Yahoo is holding my account, of 15 years hostage. U was unable to find password, and tried a few times. Account suddenly blocked. I tried to recover for 4 hours, using there cust svc advice. Not possible. Called customer svc and found it would cost ***** a month for premium svc, and applicable charges. No one could tell me what applicable charges were. Or give me an estimate. Today, I will pay the charge, and then find another service. This is extortion, and I will report it as such. 15 years of my communications and memories are in this account! After feeling scammed, I already hung up 4 times. I can't believe that the *** or ************************* has not gotten involved. This is SHAMEFULL. And it looks like their "marks" are their most loyal customers.Yahoo!

Yahoo does offer premium support via a paid service to customers who cannot self-resolve account access issues. Users are prompted to add recovery email and mobile numbers to their accounts throughout the year and sign the terms of service, which state it is the users' responsibility to keep the account current and up to date.Review fromDaniel M

1 starI've had a Yahoo! account for most of my life. I recently changed my phone number and didn't update it on my account. I know my username and password for this account and am using a device that I always use to log into this account. Despite this ********************** is requiring my to verify by using an old phone number. I reached out to them and they were unable to verify my account by any of their systems and told me to call back in a few days to try again. I would avoid setting up an email with them at all costs.Review fromChris S

Do not use Yahoo! as your email provider my experience in a nutshell. I created a Yahoo email account for my daughter after she was born (****). For the next 12+ years I sent monthly journal emails to my daughter about her growing, learning, and developing. A few months ago (2024) Yahoo deleted my daughters email account without any warning or notification. And theres no way to contact anyone regarding the issue without first paying for a service, which likely wouldn't be helpful anyhow.Yahoo!
