We bought solar back in April. April 2nd to be exact. It is now Sept, and our Solar is still not operative. It has failed inspection at least once. they did the repairs to bring it up to code. Then they tell us the inverter is wrong, so it has to be resubmitted to planning,
Meanwhile I have paid almost $1000.00 in electric bills and 4 payments on the solar itself. they do reimburse me the solar payment, but it takes about a month.
It's been more than 5 months and no end in site. We have called several times with to avail. the only person who calls us back is ***** the salesmen, who actually works for Vivint. He has requested that *** ( the Project Manger) or ***** who I believe is ***** boss, but not sure. ***** and I have all but begged for them to return a call, as of yet no response.

Contacted by Freedom forever for Home Solar in April 2020, system installed July 2020, Freedom forever stated explicitly that my electric bills which were currently averaging 150.00 per month would go down to about $15.00 to $20.00 per month with this home solar system. they also stated that I would get aREBATE of $5600.00 In January and they would help me file for that with the federal government. They ( **** ******) sales rep. stated that the rebate could go towards the cost of the system further reduci8ng monthly cost From $122.00 to 89.00 per month. **** also stated that my system would produce extra energy and at the end of each year the Power company would apply or send me a refund for the excess energy my system produces. The Power company is also part of my complaint. CC: Az Ag , APS. Since getting this system getting this system my bills have not decreased, despite numerous complaints to no avail to both APS ( *********) and Freedom Forever, in fact that have gone up exponentially!!! Averaging $250.00 per month plus the $122.00 for the Solar panel cost . These companies lie to get a sale, they run ads stating 90 percent saving when in actualality I have been ripped off! Aps Charges higher rates for solar customers, which I was never informed of. Both companies lie and pass the buck and the Az Ag office does nothing about it. Aps puts me on this higher rate on peak charges while I am producing my own energy and then they buy the energy I produce at pennies on the dollar. I would advise anyone looking to solar to avoid both these companies! It is outrages that they are allowed to do this. did they give me a battery storage with my system ? No! did they offer ? no. They lied and I am paying the nearly triple price for it! And the so called Rebate does not exist, it is a tax credit . Useless to me as I advised Freedom forever I am disabled Senior on a fixed income.Business Response

After reviewing the BBB complain submitted by *****
N*********** the following was found. Per our installations agreement that the
customer signed. In Exhibit G it goes over the savings statement which says the
following about utility saving and tax incentives: “Savings Statement.
Freedom Forever provides no warranty or guaranty with respect to any energy
cost savings from use of the System. Utility rates and utility rate structures
are subject to change. These changes cannot be accurately predicted. Projected
savings from your distributed energy generation system are therefore subject to
change. Tax incentives are subject to change or termination by executive,
legislative or regulatory action. Freedom Forever provides no warranty or
guaranty with respect to any tax or energy savings from the use of the System.”
Customer signed right after Exhibit G. (provided attachment).
The customer also mentioned that the sales rep promised
utility credits. We are not aware of what program the customer is signed up to
with the utility company. Some companies offer buy back programs or offer
credit plans. It could have been a misunderstanding with the customer and sales
rep. Customer is responsible for reaching out to the utility company to set up
whatever program they would prefer. This is not a responsibility for freedom
forever as the utility companies are already strict as to what we can and can’t
submit for a customer.
Freedom Forever does not guarantee utility savings but we do
guarantee solar production. If the customer feels her system is not generating
enough solar, she could submit a claim to review the solar production to find
out if the system met 85% of the production guarantee. If the customer did not
meet the guarantee, then they will either be compensated for the down time, or
we will add panels to meet the production guarantee. Customer is eligible to
submit that now and will be able to every production year.Initial Complaint

Unfortunately I am having to resort to BBB due to calling customer service multiple times with no resolution and no time frame on the repairs necessary. We started the process of solar installation in November 2021 and our solar was officially “turned on” in January of 2022. During our installation process our next door neighbors saw what we were doing. we referred them to freedom forever, they also ended up getting solar. Our projects were done around the same time frame. Fast forward to August of 2022 and ironically both of our solar panels had stopped working. Their solar panels stopped probably two weeks before ours. Now here we are in September waiting on parts So that they can come out and repair our solar. We have yet to hear from them. My neighbor and I both calling them periodically for updates only to be told the same thing “we’re waiting on a part and someone will call you” weeks have gone by and not only are we without solar we are being told that our electricity bill is our responsibility despite the fact that their panels are in need of repair. So not only will we have to pay a high electric bill but we also have to pay the installment plan payment for the panels as well. We would end up paying about $400 or more for just one month! Our average electricity bill prior to solar was $160. The whole point of solar was to save money while being green for our environment. I also brought up the fact that if both projects went down around the same timeframe and it hasn’t even been a year of having them that this seems to be an issue when they first installed them and an error on their part to which yet again they had no answer to and told us we have to wait for our year for any reimbursement. If these repairs had taken a couple of days or a week then no problem but it’s been since August we’ve been dealing with this and my neighbor who has had her solar down has been down since the end of June. Repairs need to happen in a timely manner.Business Response

The customers inverter had went down on 8/18 and we had been
in touch with Solar Edge the manufacture to find out what is needed and they
confirmed with us that the inverter needed to be replaced. There is a backlog
on getting the new inverter so that we can install the new inverter to get the
customer back online.
This has all been relayed to the customer via outbound call
to provide timeline for when the inverter would be arriving as well as what can
be done to account for the down time.Initial Complaint

A VIVINT dealer came to our home in April 2022 to pitch solar. He asked for our prev years highest SCE bill. We gave it to him. He used our energy usage during that cycle to build then sell us a system. He sold us a system with the max # of panels & guaranteed we would never have a SCE bill again. He said the only $ owed to SCE would be small fees to stay on their grid. He said the system would generate enough power to cover that highest bill plus some. He sold us guarantees, saying if we ever did get a bill from SCE because the panels didn’t generate enough power to at least cover the KWh used on that high bill, then we would be reimbursed. He sold us total freedom from electric bills. He sold us a loan payment and said it would be our only 'energy' bill for the life of the loan or until we sold the home. He sold us 50% overall savings as the loan payment would be less than half of what we were spending on SCE. We are now paying high SCE bills and loan payments. I have researched what power we are generating by day and month and the panels are not generating what the dealer said they would, which was enough to cover that high AUG 2021 bill. SCE has confirmed multiple times that we are getting credit for the energy, but the energy isn't enough to reduce our bill by what the dealer said they would. Freedom Forever's CS will NOT deep dive into the panels, they will only reply to my emails with scripted answers that are always the same and never applicable to what I've asked. Over the phone, they've told me their company doesn't sell reduced energy bills, yet it is repeated over and over in a message they play while you sit on hold. Their dealer that sold us the panels, will no longer respond saying he is now removed from it since installation is done. But what he sold us isn’t what we got, and he should be addressing this with this company. He also sold us panels with critter guard, and it took us 3 months to get them to install the guard and it still isn’t complete.Business Response

Hello. This solar project received utility approval and was activated on August 1, 2022. Typically a system needs to go through 1-2 billing cycles before seeing benefits of solar they will not see benefits of solar prior to the activation date. Freedom is also not able to run a production check with so little data. In Article 6 of the customer signed contract is states that freedom has a no saving guarantee. Freedom Forever only promises system production and not utility savings. The customers critter guard is scheduled to be installed on September 12, 2022. Thank you.Business Response

To whom it may concern:
After reviewing the customers claim with Freedom Forever's Legal team the following was concluded:
Freedom Forever's recording memo and online website never states that a customer will never have a utility bill. What is stated is that going solar will help with high utility bills. The word high is a relative term, what one customer considers a high utility bill may not be the same as another. Reason why in Freedom Forever supply and installation it does not promise a utility saving and only promise system production.
As previously stated, this project just got turned on an it typically takes 1-2 billing cycles to see the benefits of credit. After year one, if the customer does not see the benefit of what was promised in the supply and installation agreement the customer can request a system performance claim.
Production Year 1 Adjustment. In the event the Actual Annual kWh for Production Year 1 is less than eighty-five percent (85%) of the Guaranteed Annual kWh described in EXHIBIT A, ARTICLE 2.1, Customer agrees to allow Freedom Forever to replace or install additional panels so that the Annual kWh for Production Year 1 meets at least eighty-five percent (85%) of the Guaranteed Annual kWh for Production Year 1, the new Guaranteed Annual kWh for Production Year 1 will be the original Guaranteed Annual kWh multiplied by eighty-five percent (85%) and the Guaranteed Annual kWh for future Production Years will be adjusted to reflect the change, and Customer shall still be entitled to submit a Performance Claim for the Production Deficit between the new Guaranteed Annual kWh and the Actual Annual kWh for Production Year 1. Freedom Forever will provide no notice of Production Year 1 Guaranteed Annual kWh adjustments made. In the event that Actual Annual kWh for Production Year 1 is greater than eighty-five percent (85%) but less than one hundred percent (100%) of the Guaranteed Annual kWh described in EXHIBIT A, ARTICLE 2.1, the new Guaranteed Annual kWh for Production Year 1 will be adjusted to the Actual Annual kWh produced in Production Year 1. Any adjustment of the Guaranteed Annual kWh is subject to the degradation schedule set forth in EXHIBIT A, ARTICLE 2.2.
Freedom Forever will abide to the signed Supply and Installation agreement and consider this claim closed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:ONE: Our system was turned on in July, and our next cycle is already showing another electric with BARELY any savings. The system is still not producing what your dealer said it would. No matter what your contract says (and remember, it is signed on an ipad with your dealers giving their summary of each section you are signing) he said it would generate enough power to cover the highest bill we had last year AND IT IS NOT.
TWO: Freedom Forever is allowing their dealers / sales associates / contractors (whatever you call them) to lie to potential customers. This weekend, we were approached by one of their dealers that had a kiosk setup at a local store. That sales associate ASKED US IF WE WERE READY TO NEVER HAVE AN ELECTRIC BILL AGAIN! I asked that sales associate if it was really true, and she said ABSOLUTELY - I HAVE A SYSTEM AND DON'T PAY ANY ELECTRIC BILLS! So, no matter what you write into your contract, it doesn't negate the fact that your dealers are SELLING NO ELECTRIC BILLS. THAT THEY ARE SELLING SOMETHING YOU AREN'T DELIVERING.Like I said, I will fight this. I've already gathered other data, including promises from your dealers that we have setup appointments with thru friends and family. AND THEY WERE ALL TOLD THEIR ELECTRIC BILLS WOULD DISAPPEAR IF THEY SIGNED UP TO GET A SYSTEM!!You can close this, but we will continue to push for corrective action.Initial Complaint

We agreed to start a solar project with Freedom Forever in March partially because the salesperson made it very clear that this was a no risk, no obligation, cancel anytime before installation no strings attached agreement. They set up the installation of a Vivent system saying that Freedom Forever and Vivent had a deal so every solar project they do gets one. I had asked the salesperson what would happen with the Vivent system if we did end up canceling and he just reminded us that there would be no strings attached. We canceled our project in May because they were not communicating with us as they said they would and we no longer felt comfortable about the project. During the month it took me to cancel, no one at Freedom Forever could tell me what was going to happen with the Vivent system and some told me just to wait and see if another department (that they couldn't direct me to) called me about it. In July I began getting voicemails from their retention dept. asking if I'd like to start my solar project up again, I told them no and again I asked about the Vivent system and again they could only talk me in circles about it. Then on August 2nd I received an email from Freedom Forever with an invoice for $3000 for the Vivent system with a note at the bottom saying we were being charged because we canceled our solar project. I tried replying to the email and received only automated responses saying the retention dept. would be in touch with me. I tried calling the number on the email and couldn't dial the extension. Since then I have received 2 phone calls and spoken to them regarding this. Before I can even say anything they say ‘we know $3000 is alot’ and offer to ‘drop it to $1500 if I set up a payment plan with them’. I said no and they both said they would talk to their manager and get back with me. I never hear back from them. I’ve even called them and left messages. I get no call back. I feel that we were duped and I feel taken advantage of.Business Response

I have a solar system with freedom forever the system went down and April it took them one and a half month to get fix. By the end of June the system went down again is been 2 months and nobody has come to fix it yet. The year mark was completed the system produced 40 % less energy then what was promised on the contract but every time I call for answers they say they call back but never do. When sold it was a false representation of the product and I want answers.Business Response

My solar system has not been working since mid July 2022. My electrical bill is climbing. It is very frustrating to be paying a monthly charge for electric panels producing zero energy and paying July and august prices in Texas to reliant. My bill is so high and smack the solar panels cost on top of that. No one has been to my house yet to my knowledge.Business Response

First of all this is ****** *****, I am the son of *** M. *****. He has no email or computer. The problem is with his new solar panel installation. He was getting the system because he wanted a back-up system for when power goes out. Well here comes a salesperson and told my father "no surprises" after he ordered the backup battery system and solar panel package. They came in did wonderful work and cleaned it all up and Dad ask them if the box on the wall was the battery or not? The installer explained it was not. The installer called the salesperson and she told him he installed the wrong system. At that point they all left insisting someone would be in touch. It's been three weeks + and I have been the only phone contact between the company and my father who is 85 by the way and does not this kind of stress. The company Freedom forever representatives keep saying they will do something about it as soon as the salesperson calls them and tells them a mistake has been made. I am being told over and over again the same thing we need her to approve her own mistake. I am at a loss and feel my father is being ignored. I just want the right system that he ordered to be installed and all this to end, the install still isn't complete a month later. Because there is no battery for it to use to power the house when power goes off. Meaning there is something very wrong here.Business Response

This has been going on since MARCH of this year and my solar is STILL not hooked up as of August 26th!!
* Before my panels were installed I inquired about having them wire my home for a battery. I was promised that a price would be given but nobody ever followed up with me.
* The panels were installed on June 8th. Apparently the critter guard was not installed at this time and nobody informed me so I was under the impression that the install was 100% complete.
* The installers left behind ~100 zip ties all over my yard. Additionally, they dug up the landscaping by my electric panels and just left it that way when they were done, along with more trash.
* On July 16th I began texting with ****** ***** in the reputation management team. On July 16th he reached out to me because I left a one star review. He lied to me saying that he initiated a refund for my first solar payment since my system is still not hooked up, however this was not true. I called their customer service before speaking with him to request the refund.
* on July 16th ****** said that he would look into when the city inspection would occur.
* On Jully 21st I followed up for status and He said that he has not heard anything but would get the info and follow up the next day
* After not getting any follow up I texted him back on July 26th for status. At this time he informed me that the final inspection was set for July 28th and that he would confirm that the critter guard was installed (first time I am hearing that it wasnt)
* On August 4th I reached out again for the critter guard, payment reimbursement and when my system would get turned on. He told me that I would be contacted for the critter guard and that he would check on my reimbursement check. I replied asking about a completion date. He informed me that the estimate is Aug 16th and he would follow up with me tomorrow.
* I was never followed up with and my system is still not hooked upBusiness Response
