I am a healthcare provider. Healthgrades is allowing the publication of abusive and untrue comments on their website. When I asked them to take the comment down, they refused to do so. Specifically the review in question happened when I was pregnant and I feel like the company is allowing this treatment of a pregnant female physician. The landscape is extremely difficult for women in medicine and these websites just make things worse. The patient stated that I did not respond to mychart messages, which is untrue. I have always responded to mychart messages with the exception of the time I was on maternity leave, when my partners responded for me. Additionally, the review was posted during a time when I was 9 months pregnant; I feel like I am being attacked because of my pregnancy. The patients I treat all have gynecologic malignancies and may have negative feelings towards pregnant people. I explained this to the company, but it seems like attacking pregnant women is okay according to their "standards."The company claims that reviews are not always posted on dates of service. Please note, patients often post reviews close to the date of service because that is when they are the most upset. Realistically, the patient did not post the review 6 months after the visit. Finally, it seems like the treatment I provided cured this patient's cancer. Therefore, the conclusion that the visit with the physician was a "waste of time," is not a rational one. Or, it is a lie. Thank you.Business Response

****************,
Thank you for reaching out to Healthgrades.
Our team has reviewed your request and the review in question and found that it meets our editorial guidelines and policies. Patient experience surveys allow consumers/patients to express their opinion, and how a consumer rates their experience with the provider is a matter of opinion. This allows other consumers/patients who view these ratings to draw their own conclusions and decide whether they will rely upon that information.
We would encourage you to respond to this individual patient comment to share your side of the experience and allow other consumer/patients to get a clearer picture of your practice here: *******************************************************************************Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I do not further want to draw attention to this review or this website. I do not want to respond online. The claim the patient made is false - I never stopped responding to any my chart messages. The business states that they do not want to post false reviews. The review is a type of bullying commonly seen against female physicians. I am happy to provide research articles that show how female physicians are targets of such abuse.
Sincerely,

HealthGrades rates providers solely based of subjective reviews. Any random person can write a bad review without the back story. Most of the disgruntles people are those who did were neglectful to the patient and wants revenge because they are fronted by the provider who is concerned for the patient. Patient takes it out on the provider because the system is not what they expected. All providers in different systems are graded on the same scale. This is ridiculous because the patient population would make review bias. Providers who see more substance use patients, recently released from jail, elderly neglected patients will not be viewed well when they do not comply to outrageous family or patient's demands.Better bedside manners do not equal great medical care or concern for patients. A more objective scale is needed. Healthgrades end up smearing the reputations of providers based on emotionally driven claims. I request that Healthgrades take me off of their review list. I do not give them my permission and choose not to participate in their reviews. Thank you for your assistance.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:the one star review is gone but the star still remains and is detracting from my rating. It must also be removed. Healthgrades has an obligation to vet its reviews in a better fashion. My reputation was damaged and I lost patient referrals due to the *** vetting by healthgrades and allowing this review to remain up since February.

Healthgrades unfairly censored a review for Dr. ******************* alleging it violated the community guidelines, without clarifying what part of the community guidelines were violated. The complaint pertained directly to the provision of my health care and the impact it had on me as a result of the quality of the care provided. I believe it was unfair for them to censor my review and not provide me with an explanation as to why my review was censored.Business Response

Thank you for contacting Healthgrades.
We've conducted an investigation and found the content of your review did not meet our internal guidelines and editorial policies. However, your 1-star rating remains on the site. The reason your comment was rejected is because it states/implies provider misconduct. We suggest you contact State Boards to file a official complaint. You can always resubmit your review at anytime, however we'd recommend keeping any legal accusations out of the content.
Please contact ********************************** with any additional questions or concerns.

Complaint: 20040932
I am rejecting this response because:
I was informed that the review was censored due to an alleged violation of community guidelines, not "internal guidelines" or editorial policies. There is nothing in the community review guidelines which disallows posting about provider misconduct, so I believe this exception is being arbitrarily applied. Further, the guidelines do say to not post content mentioning legal matters or proceedings, but it doesn't disallow posting about misconduct. The post was not about any court proceeding or legal matter. There are many reviews on healthgrades for other providers where misconduct is alleged, so this exception is being arbitrarily made for ******************.
This shows that the contract that Healthgrades has with its users is vague and unclear, and subject to arbitrary change, such that it may be used to defend doctors on personal whims if it is believed that the review alleges misconduct.
Sincerely,

Healthgrades is inaccurately indicating that my ******** psychology licensure was suspended due to "abuse or use of alcohol/substances while practicing". Not only is this completely false, and defamatory, but is also irreversibly effecting my reputation. I voluntarily accepted an administrative suspension for not knowing that a client had romantic feelings for me. According to APA standards of care it does not matter whether I knew this information or not, I am responsible. I agreed to stop practicing for 2 years and be fined. The person making allegations confessed to attorney general's in writing that not only was I not aware, but admitted that he allegations were manufactured and that I had refused her contact since 2016, IN WRITING. She waited 6 years to file allegations after she was refused contact with me on multiple occasions. Her allegations were found by the licensing board and MPA compliance commitee to be false and were dismissed as such. It was a voluntary, administrative suspension with zero legal ramifications. There was no allegation EVER that I used substances or alcohol during practice (or in my personal life for that matter). The only person ever found to have been abusing alcohol, was the allegent, again confessed in writing to AGs, along with confessions of purchasing 10s of thousands of dollars in firearms in a 2 month period.Healthgrades needs to stop providing false and defamatory information that costs practitioners significantly. On September 22, 2023, a malicious fraudulent negative review and a 1-star rating was left on my profile by someone purporting to be a patient of mine but who in fact was not. The review stated that they made an appointment, did not enjoy their appointment, and that they will not be making a new appointment. Since I do not take appointments it is impossible for this person to have been a patient of mine. I informed Healthgrades of the situation but they failed to provide me with any help or removal of the fraudulent review. They do not have any criteria for filtering malicious reviews from non-patients. Because I do not take appointments and I do not see patients, I cannot have new reviews or new ratings that could balance the original malicious review. I demand a removal of the false review.Business Response
