Weve owned many new homes and this is the worst experience ever. We bought a move in ready home. We marked up inspection items prior to move in and gave them over a month to fix. They took down every sticker and fixed nothing. With moving from out of state, it left us no option but to settle. It took them over 6 months to finish inspection items, which required someone at the home almost daily during that time. Not only that but the workers would use the microwave and bathroom without asking and walk in and out of our home without knocking. Felt like we didnt even own the home. We had more issues left and right after that - from whole master closet systems falling off the wall to shower floors sloped the wrong way to not being able to use our back door for several months to holes in our shower floor pan to nonstop electrical issues to carpet transitions tearing the list was extensive and Richmond warranty was unresponsive or unapologetic. We did a year end inspection with a third party. We gave them three months to get items taken care of prior to the one year ***** We are 5 months after giving them the items and theyve gone dark. Not only that, they seem to switch warranty reps often and your items that were reported previously disappear. If you can find another home, please save yourself the headache. It has given us such a bad taste in our mouth for ****** after moving from out of state. It has also made it so hard to make this house a home. The staff and quality of home are poor. If you cant avoid buying one of their homes, get inspections prior to moving in and before the one year ***** This is so important. Also, keep a detailed list of your issues throughout that time. They take no accountability for keeping up with the items that are reported.

This has been the worst building process I have ever experienced. The superintendents have no idea what they are doing and just tell you every mistake is normal. They did not measure my drywall correctly and just filled it with mud and it keeps cracking and sinking it. They have damage a few of my cabinets after installing. There is no accountability with these people and very poor attention to detail. I get ignored every time I address something and they continue to build my house with poor attention to detail.

I started my building process in September 2021, I still have not been able to close on my house because of so many construction delays and the builders repeated attempts to correct problems with the home. They dont seem to be able to fix anything and when they attempt to it ends up looking worse than when they began. I have repeatedly brought problems to their attention during the build process, but they continue to put the repairs off till the end and in some cases continue to build over the top of existing problems. Examples are installing drywall over obviously crooked framing then texturing over the poorly installed drywall and continuing right on to paint. Another example is installing lighting fixtures, not centered over bathroom sinks, installing medicine cabinets completely out of square with huge gaps where the frame meets the drywall so bad that they wont even close. Theyve installed baseboards over crooked framing and drywall that look like a snake going down the hall. Most, if not all of the corners of the windows are so crooked installing a window blind or window treatment will be nearly impossible. They have damaged many areas on the wood finished cabinetry and then attempted to repair the finish essentially ruining the cabinet. The exterior of the home is no better with many stucco flaws and poorly installed stone veneers, paint that is so thin you can actually see the gray stucco behind the paint and huge gaps around many of the exterior door casings. I agree with many of the opinions here that say they wish they could give them less than one star. Stay as far away from Richmond American as you possibly can, dont even consider it. No one should have to go through this kind of stress to have a home built, especially not a home priced starting at over half a million dollars. If they didnt have almost twenty thousand dollars of my money, I would walk away even after a year and a half of my life wasted waiting for these clans.

If I am able to put 0 stars I would. This has been the worst experience ever for us being first time home buyers. We started the process in 10/2022. Weve only talked to our loan processor ****** once on the phone & that was for her to explain who she is & what she is doing. 3/2023 is *********** been submitting everything more than 5 times for the same documents theyve asked for. Even when we got our congratulations we still had to submit documents that was previously submitted. & everything had to go back to the underwriter. We had no communication with ****** ever unless it was me reaching out to her. & thats when we will find out what we need to submit again. After we got our congratulations another lady came onboard *****. She was so unhelpful. Every question Ive asked she would answer it some simple or just one word. Or shell tell me to go ask ******. They had approved us at 5.8% buying down $10,000 in point for that rate without even informing us what was going on. No one ever explained or even walked us through this knowing that we are first time home buyers. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. WE HAD TO PULL OUT & THEY KEPT OUR DEPOSIT OF $4210. this have been the worst experience ever. I would rather pay someone elses mortgage than go through them. They have made the buying process so stressful & beyond scary that I dont even want to think about buying again. I am so glad we pulled out when we can than get stuck with this for a $3878 mortgage they were offering. So middle finger to ******** hope they wont scam anyone into signing anything with them.

We purchased our home in 2020. We have a long list of items that have yet been addressed. **** our warranty customer service representative failed to follow up with any of our requests. I emailed his bosses and I received nothing from them. We've experienced nothing but issues with our home. Within the first months our water heater was leaking, someone came out to fix it however since the middle of last year the hot water stops working. Our floors are not leveled. Our upgraded floor is cheap and was installed damaged in numerous locations. Our baseboards were never touched up. The stucco on the outside of the house needed repairs and the paint was never touched up. My list is so long! Our toilet is rocking. I don't know who else to reach out to but someone needs to stop this company from building homes that fall apart after they are built. They need to stop lying to people telling them there is warranty because that's a scam and lie. Nothing gets repaired. Cheap materials, cheap craftsmanship, stay away!

I bought a house on March 2022 from Richmond American Homes and I had regretted it every single day up to no March 2023. We have gone through the most incredible issues created by their contractors. There are still issues reported during the first walk that one year later they did not fix or send someone to check them. Their contractors are a joke as well as the ones responsible for the construction. I upgraded most of the house investing a lot of money and then I discovered that they deliver defective materials, beating appliances, poor quality floors, carpets, doors, handles, and the list goes on. I have filed a complaint against them on the ***** of *********** and will spend whatever is needed in attorneys to force them to fix the issues and compensate the economical and emotional damages they have inflicted on us during this year. People should do that till they learn they cannot con the buyers.

Richmond Homes does not even deserve one star. We were going to purchase a Richmond Home in *******, **. Some family stuff happened and we no longer qualified for our VA home loan. The sales rep would not listen to our realtor and cancel the contract for months. Im November 2022 she finally processed paperwork to get out of contract on the home. After two months we inquired about our agreed on ******* money being returned to us and when we would see that. We were told it should have been within 2 months and that our sales agent would look into it and get back to us. With almost weekly emails inquiring about this I was finally forwarded to the ******************. No one from the ****************** now the original sales agent will respond to any email I have called the original sales agent and she wont ************* or return them. The office will not give me the number of the ******************. It had been 4 months and we still have not received our money back. I will never even look at purchasing a Richmond Home in the future.

I wrote a review a couple of months ago, but want to give an update: I wish I had taken my loss and walked away before closing. I saw red flags all over the place at the final walk through. The back end supervisor was awful; he actually got fired the day we closed. We are trying to sell and we can't. I would rather be dead than live in this cracker box. My health is deteriorating, so maybe I'll get my wish sooner rather than later. No one wants to buy this place, and I don't blame them. The problems with the house are too numerous to mention. It's literally everything. I see no way out of this mess and it's literally killing me. One star is too generous.

We signed a new home purchase agreement on 12/19/2021. Eagerly on 01/19/2022 we moved into our new Richmond American Home. Before the 12 month new home warranty expiration we hired a 3rd party home inspector. He found 2 gas leaks, one at the outside gas meter box, and the 2nd more importantly in the attic. This leak was on the gas line and valve leading to the east heating unit. It had a red "Danger Tag" denoting a leak! To put this in perspective my family had been living in this home for 10 months with an internal gas leak. ************* was called immediately and the leaks were fixed. On 2 separations 11/22/2022 and 12/01/2022 I emailed my dismay about this serious issue to the ******* Sales Manager ************************* with no response. Recently on 01/24/2023 I emailed my same concerns to the *** ************************* again with no response. This is a major concern seeing that my entire family was put at risk as well as nearby neighbors if there had been a catastrophic explosion. There is no reasonable excuse why this should have occurred or that Richmond American has chosen to ignore this egregious danger.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RICHMOND AMERICAN!!! They are ignoring me. I went into contract with them several months ago. I'm doing an FHA loan. My appraisal came back and based on their contract and FHA guidelines I can withdraw from the contract (not lose my emd) if the house appraises for less. The appraisal came back less and I made the decision to step away from the contract. They are are refusing to cancel my contract! They are refusing to refund my EMD based on their contract and they have been giving me the run around for over a week. No one is answering my emails or calls. They continue to blame corporate for not canceling it so at this point they are trying to force me to remain with them. I repeat do not do business with them as they are not good business partners. At this point, I will be filing a lawsuit against them because they are refusing to refund or even let me out of my contract based on their terms and FHA guidelines.
