So a Sheriff deputy showed up at my house on 12/27/2024 said they received a 911 call from us. We didn't call and that's when he told us we were the 4th that day. When I checked the landline phone was dead. No dial tone and checked caller I'd and realized hadn't gotten a call since 12/23. I finally got a person on the phone on 12/30 it was obvious the problem is copper wire thieves. They insisted on sending a tech out. He of course confirmed and gave no hope of getting it fixed. Long story short I received a **** Jan. 28th for $181.00. Three times the bill when the phone was working. They actually argued that not only did i have to pay canceling services ment no "discount" I would have to pay the amount in full. Things got heated finally came back with a $17.00 charge and acted Shocked when I said fine but that's it we are done. Just insane that they would charge anything and they have done nothing to clean up the mess of down lines in several places in our area. They will be out of business Soon

Company has been in the area laying fiber cable and switching over accounts from ********************. They are giving consumers no choice. I had not signed up yet so they locked my laptop, essentially forcing me to sign up for their plan befoire releasing for me to be able to work. I could nto access my email and the only webiste that they allowed access to was their own.

worst phone service ever poor customer service, inconsistent service speeds, billing issues, and difficulties canceling service, with many users reporting issues like long wait times on the phone, unexpected price increases, and service outages that aren't promptly addressed; most complaints center around the quality of their customer service and inconsistent service reliability. Living in a rural location where a lack of services can be quite literally life-threatening, I am so fed up with CenturyLink and hope everyone stops using them.stay away from CenturyLink

0 Stars! Century link used to be a great company! I never had any issues. In the past few years, it has changed. They're horrible. Tacking on charges, no customer service, unable to speak with anyone..everything done via chat! AND making threats against customers! Guess what, people don't need land lines anymore! It's not huge deal to get rid of them and use your cell phone only

I would give CenturyLink a zero if I could. Their service is incredibly slow, even when they say they can get you fast internet, and it's also really unstable, so videos sometimes get really grainy or stop to buffer frequently, other applications sometimes get bugged out and require a restart. They continue to charge us for 40 mbps speed when their tech says our house can't actually get that speed due to bad infrastructure and he had to force it to a max of 10 mbps. Not only that but we've had three significant outages in less than 2 months in my small town, causing not only the internet to go down, but also the cell towers that need to use internet to function to be out of service for 24 hours or more. Living in a rural location where a lack of services can be quite literally life-threatening, I am so fed up with CenturyLink and hope everyone stops using them. I hate **** ****, but am seriously considering Starlink because CenturyLink is so unreliable.

I called October 24th of 2024 to call and cancel our phone service because the phone was so noisy for many many months we could not hear on it. After explaining this to the representative telling him we wanted it canceled the phone call dropped. Lo and behold in November we get another bill so I called them back to cancel again. They're telling us we have to pay November's bill even though I told them we have not had a phone for many many months. The representative that day told me he could credit us for November and canceled our line. We just received another bill saying our phone bill is past due so I called again. I explained all of this to them again and they're telling me because I dropped the call in October our line was never canceled and that we owe for November because I didn't cancel until November 27th which was the second time I called to cancel it. After 30 very frustrating minutes they're blaming me saying I dropped the call in October so the account wasn't canceled and that I didn't cancel until the 27th of November. Today December 31st 2024 the representative said said we must pay even though the representative I talk to on the 27th of November said he would credit us November for having a very noisy line that we could not use. I finally told them they are not getting another red cent from us because we never had any service and couldn't hear on our phone for months. I told them we are not paying for November then I hung up on them. What a total rip off that company is. The service is horrible you can't get a technician to come out for days and days so we finally just gave up on them. The worst part about contacting them on the phone is that half of the representatives do not speak clear English and I don't understand half of what they are saying. That might be why we have a problem because of communication. That felt good to vent!!!!!

Im posting this on behalf of my 83 year old mother in law. At her request, CenturyLinks agreed to suspend her service from July 1 until the end of the year at no charge. Then in October, contrary to the original agreement and without any prior notification, they began to charge her. She then today decided to cancel the service altogether and got in contact with a CenturyLink customer representative. My mother in law then was told that the service had to be reactivated and that she had to pay the $40 in fees she was charged but did not owe and then was further instructed to contact CentruryLink tomorrow to request her service be terminated. Bottomline is that CenturyLink broke their promise to her, compelled her to pay a fee when she requested cancellation and then they asked her to call back another day to cancel the service. This is wrong. My mother in law is being financially taken advantage of. My hope is that CenturyLink will execute a commonsense resolution to this by simply cancelling the service and refunding the fee. I cannot understand how **** would endorse a company who treats its members like this.
