In June 2022, my vehicle a 2015 ****** Crosstrex, was towed from my son's apartment complex on ************** in *********, ** after being parked their overnight for not having the proper parking pass. However, after paying the fees and retrieving my vehicle, I informed them verbally by phone that there was damage to my front end of my car. They instructed me to file a complaint form with pictures. I did so within ***** hours. I waited weeks and never received a response, I submitted the complaint form multiple times after that. Finally, on 10/13/22 I received an email from ***********************, ******** Service Supervisor at ******* ********************** with a damage claim number ****** indicating their responsibility for the damages. They informed me I could go to their partner provider to have my car fixed or one that I choose. I informed her that I had already gotten an estimate from Gerber Glass and Collision in ******, ** (where I live) for the damages. I sent her a copy of the estimate. On 10/25/22 after following up with ***** via email she responded saying she was just waiting for validation and as soon as it is approved she will let me know how it will be paid out. I've sent multiple follow up emails to her since then with no response. I submitted a new complaint form on the companies website with my damage claim number and no response. I've called the only published number to be told that no one is available and to try back. I've asked for a specific name and contact number and was told they won't provide that information to me. I'm still waiting to receive compensation for the damages totaling $974.81. per quote by ****************** and Collision. I have all documented email and copy of quote I obtained from Gerber.Initial Complaint

2/15/2023 My gfs vehicle was towed from our apartment complex. The vehicle was towed within hours of being parking. The vehicle has an active/valid parking permit. The tow company is also supposed to give a 24hr sticker warning before taking the vehicles which they did not. We honestly thought it was stolen. It cost $379.72 to pay for this tow. Even though online it said it was only going to cost us $211 plus $55 release fee. I can provide receipts. There were also a handful of people in front of us in line waiting to be helped at *****************. It seemed like a lot of people were having issues but I cannot speak for them. I do know that the second ***************** opened there window it smelt like weed and the cashier seemed to be a little off. She didn't seem sober. Overall I feel our vehicle was stolen from where we live and then I paid almost $400 to get back what's mine. It doesn't make sense.Initial Complaint

My car was towed from the parking spot I have been parking my car everyday for the last 5 years. Property manager is supposed to be only one who authorizes a tow however this was not the case. I contacted property manager and she stated she did not call in no tow she did her research come to find out it was another tenant who called in a tow truck who showed lease agreement and photo Id. so if this is all it takes apparently I can call and get anyone towed I was also informed my management that there is law that has been I provide 24 hours before tow which was never received. They are asking I pay $366 to get my car which I feel Im not responsible for because I was in valid parking space: I called ***** and lady who amswered phone is by far my he rudest person I have ever dealt with in any business I asked to speak to manager she says she dont have one because she dont need to be micro managed not sure this is how a business should be run and talk to customers however they want is truly unacceptable and if this is to continues I see more complaints coming your wayInitial Complaint

I was towed from my friends apartment complex that had no visible sign to people entering the apartment (just one on a one way only exit only street leaving the complex.) I also was not given the required 24/hr notice before towing my vehicle. Id like a full reimbursement for my towing expenses for their predatory towing practices. My car was there for a total of 3/hrs and cost me $370 to get back half of my rent. Not sure where ** going to live next month with no rent money.Initial Complaint

Date: Thursday, 26 Jan 2023 Location: ******, ******** (East Colfax)Situation:******* Towing towed my vehicle from a parking lot across from a business I was visiting between the hours of **** and **** hrs A couple things to note regarding ******* Towing: - They are either not familiar with, do not care about, or are counting on you not knowing about the law new governing their business practices which went into effect on 22 August 2023: 4 CCR 723-6500 Rule 6500-6514 - They violate many elements of its provisions; any one of which will negate your tow, all of which will result in significant civil penalty to them (possible loss of business license)Governor ***** signed this into law for a reason: Companies like ******* are bottom feeders who count on you believing you have no power. Familiarize yourself with this law and carefully determine what applies to you and what they violated. Here's something else they aren't counting on: you taking them to Small Claims Court at a cost of $31 to you (a summons delivered by the Sheriff 15 with 15 days notice before they have to appear). They can't have an attorney present (the location manager has to show up), it's a court ruling meaning that, not only is it binding but, any violations of the law they are found guilty of means fines (over, and over every time someone takes them to court). They blatantly violated 7 provisions of that law in towing my vehicle with civil penalties of $5,425, and a possible additional 27 I'm currently investigating worth at a cost of $9,00 to them ($15,325 in penalties for legal violation of one tow). Don't take it sitting down. file small claims through through ************* and flood them with cases. They'll be bankrupt in a week, you'll have a refund, and they won't be able to continue their predatory practices. Act fast though. They are likely to start making changes as soon as they see this. Keep your documentation.Customer Answer

I made a couple of errors which I am wonder may be corrected, or an addendum to the complaint made to clarify (Case *********). - The verbiage "... you not knowing about the law new governing their business..." is grammatically nonsensical. It should read "You not knowing about the new law..." - 4 CCR 723-6500 went into effect in August 2022, not August 2023. This error on my part makes the basis for my complaint seem faulty to any reader of the complaint when, in fact, it was simply an error in transcribing on my part - The verbiage "...delivered by the Sheriff 15 with 15 days notice..." should read "...delivered by the Sheriff with 15 days' notice..." - The error in civil penalties written as "$9,00" should be $9,000 - "file" should be capitalized (next sentence)Initial Complaint

My vehicle was towed from my apartment's parking lot on 01/24/2023 around midnight. The company claimed I did not have a permit when I clearly had one visible and hanging from the rear view mirror as it was supposed to be. The vehicle was not illegally parked, had a permit, and had only been there for about 6 hours by the time it was towed without warning. Because I couldn't recover the vehicle until after work the following day, it cost about $450 to reclaim the vehicle.Initial Complaint

******* Towing preys on out of state vehicles, I have been towed two times by this company due to not having a permit on my car at my apartment complex. However, more than half of the vehicles parked at this apartment complex DO NOT have permits and they are not towed. The towing company specifically targeted my car since it had an out of state license.Initial Complaint

On New Year's Eve my car was parked in front of **************** apartment buildings. I parked in a spot with no signage or warnings that this was a tow zone - I intentionally looked and had a friend also confirm that this spot was ok to park in as well as folks that live around the complex. Around 12:30am, the car was gone. After calling 911 they informed us that ******* towing had picked up the vehicle. They are now charging me $330 to get my vehicle back and since it is the weekend, there are extra fees that apply (but more fees if you leave the car longer than 24 hours). Below I have attached photos of the car that is currently parked in the spot (the Jeep, not the white 4Runner) as well as photos of the nearest 'do not park sign' with no clear end points as to where the no parking area begins or ends. No colored markings on the street corner. The 911 dispatcher had told us she had gotten over 5 complaints just in that hour about that one specific location and when I went back to that area, the couple standing in the photos had had the same issue. We exchanged contact info and will be fighting this because it is unlawful to tow a vehicle without proper signage around the area with clearly marked begin and end points to the towing/no parking zone with no notice as well. Additionally, a photo shows a nearby vehicle parked nearly 6ft from the sidewalk with no issue at hand, showing targeting of that one spot that they know is not properly marked.Initial Complaint
