1 starI was in the ER/ED November 18, 2021, and was informed by medical professionals that I would need to be transported to another hospital for the medical services they were not able to provide. Prior to being transported to the other hospital, I provided my insurance card to the AMR employee. It was then 6 months later, June 2022, that I received my first bill from AMR, and was informed that they did not have my insurance; I called AMR and provided them with the information again and advised that the bill would be placed on hold for ***** days, to give my health insurance time to process. I then did not receive any more notifications of this bill until a year later, July 28th,2023 and since I have been going back and forth with AMR and my now former health plan. On Sept 5, 2023 I done a three-way phone call with the health plan and ****************. My former health plan told the **************** rep the exact steps on how to submit the claim into the health plan, and the **************** representative stated that the claim would be place on hold once more for another ***** days to allow for processing. It is now 09/28/23 and I have received 6 statements/reminders to pay this bill that has not been submitted into the health plan correctly nor in a timely manner. The representatives, especially the last one I spoke to on 9/5/23, was not very helpful and pretty much told me that it was my responsibility, even though they did not submit the claim correctly nor in a timely manner. I have contacted my former health plan again today, and was informed that the claim/bill from AMR still has not been received. AMR is a poor service/business and I wished that I did not have to leave a star at all. If I have to, or any member of my family has to be transported, AMR WILL BE REFUSED if that is who is providing care/transportation.Review fromCaitlin M

I give 2 stars only because the local EMS themselves were very kind. They're billing, however, is outsourced and BEYOND awful.I had to use AMR in Feb of 2023, and gave them my ID and my insurance before we even left my home. Fast -forward to March where I get a bill for the full amount - they never billed my insurance, despite the local office having it in my file (I called local and the guy read me my ID). I later received a text, which routed me to their online portal, where I added my insurance information myself. Then I called them (Billing services) and he STILL had to add it. THEN, come to find out about another month later, they had failed to bill my insurance bcz they "couldn't contact my insurance to verify coverage." ************* I work in insurance at a surgical office - they have a portal you can check it easily. I use it all the time. AMR clearly chose to do it the hard way by trying to call and lvm. Furthermore, you don't just arbitrarily choose not to bill someone's insurance because you can't verify it. You bill it and if it denies, that's on the pt. So I called them AGAIN and told them to bill it so help me. So they did. Here we are in September and I have yet to receive a bill (confirmed I'm signed up for paper), nor a text, nor is it even reflecting on my AMR portal accnt. It literally says, "There are no bills for you!" I had to check my own insurance EOB to see what my balance due was. I just got off the phone with them and they confirmed my amnt due, and when I asked when that was posted, he said July 11th. I asked when my first payment WAS due. He said Aug 16th. I told him he should be able to see that I have not been sent a notification of any kind for my balance. He confirmed the last two times they contacted me - once by mail, once by text. Nothing since then. I told them I WILL NOT be charged a late fee, and I will NOT be put into collections. He said the balance should show on the portal within 7 days. We shall see. AWFUL!American Medical Response Inc

I called the number provided on my mailed out bill regarding payment support and asked for an application for assistance to be mailed to me. After waiting a month to receive it I called again to ask and ask why I havent received it. Neither times did I receive the application as promised by the worker, and my concern about not receiving it originally was dismissed/not addressed. This seems extremely unethical and down right bad business.American Medical Response Inc

1 starI received services from American Medical Response back in MARCH 2023. After receiving the bill I updated my insurance information. After that I received everyday either a text message or email stating I owed a portion of the bill well I was waiting for my insurance company to pay. Well waiting I still was receiving texts and emails so I went ahead and paid it out of my own pocket well in July my insurance paid them so I called for a refund. It has been over 3 months Ive been waiting for a refund and every time I call I get the run around about my refund no one can ever give a direct answer to my concerns. Today I ask for a number to call about the refund and was told I couldnt talk to anyone. So my frustration is I paid them in a timely manner but when it comes to refund for myself I get told to wait 7 more days every week I call. Its a same that American Medical Response has the right to treat people like thisReview fromRandy W

2 starsI'm sorry to say, we used this service a couple of times. They are always late, although I booked my appointments four days in advance. I really don't understand what is going on. It is very frustrating showing up late at the appointments. Having to wait even longer. Come on please do better. A lot of people rely on these services.Review fromBetty G

1 starOn 9/15/23 had to call 911 and this company responded to the call. The ambulance crew treated me pretty poorly. They acted as if I had inconvenienced them by having them take me to the *** I was in excruciating pain due to a procedure I had done that morning. Was told if I had any pain, nausea or vomiting to call 911 or head back to the hospital. When we got in the ambulance, AMR guy told me he was taking me to PRMC and I said no. I needed to be taken to the hospital that did the procedure, which is about 5 miles away. He said, NO Im not bypassing this hospital. The sirens where not on. And they took their time to get me there. While on the drive he was telling me this is totally normal after this procedure which is not true. Letting me know that the wait is going to be long and youre going to have to wait in the lobby for a really long time completely acting like I was a burden to him. When we arrived at the hospital. He was giving report all annoyed. Luckily there was a doctor there and he received report from him. When he told him I had an ERCP earlier, the dr ordered a CT and pain meds STAT. Saying rule out a perforation the AMR went pale. Then I hear him asking what an ERCP was. There was an incident with a different patient, and he literally told the lady to mind her business, and to let hospital personnel do their job! Because I was taken to a different hospital, I was delayed in care for a day and a half. This hospital didnt know what to do with me, and ended up transferring me to the hospital I asked to be taken to since the beginning. I called to complain, but ****** received any follow up. Please be careful out there. And advocate for yourself and your loved ones.Review fromKimberly S

On March 15, 2023 my family had to call an ambulance for me in which AMR were the ones to respond. Later that month I got a bill from AMR in the amount of $425.74. My insurance company then sent me a check for $125.74 which I sent to AMR at their request with a check for $300 and paperwork stating that if I paid the bill in full within 30 days, I would get a $100 gift card in the same envelope. AMR then sent me a bill for just the $125.74 we called AMR and they stated that they never received the check from the insurance company. I would like to add that I got the gift card so somehow AMR knows I have paid in full. We then called my insurance company, and they said that the check was cashed on the same day as the $300 personal check by AMR on 5/22/23 it was deposited into a **** of America account which I don't have an account with **** of America. to this day 9/13/23 AMR is harassing me to pay a bill I have already paid for and sent proof of payment with multiple letters and text messages stating I have an outstand balance. I would like to add that they billed the insurance under my mother instead of me, but the **** came in my name. my **** number is 9536-9734-8729. This is a horrible ambulance company that doesn't know what they are doing.American Medical Response Inc

1 starI would give them 0 stars if I could. I have lost hours of my life talking to their billing department as they never match the payment from my mother's secondary insurance to her account. They have been wrong every single time. If you have a choice, do not use their services. If you don't have a choice, please investigate whether your insurance company paid them, as their internal accounting is the worst.Review fromAngela M

1 starJoke of a service... My sister was transported from ***************** to a hospice house to die and these people have the nerve to send my grieving mother a bill for their service... What kind of business does this?
