  AMR is a rip off that overcharges as you can see from all reviews.Their practice is obscene to aggravate those that have had serious issues and needed ambulance Transporation with prices almost double of their competition. Then they threaten your credit scores by telling you they will turn you over for collection.This must be stopped. No wonder the insurance companies have to raise our rates due to scammers like AMR who constantly get their requests denied for payment from the insurance company and then try to collect from those who have had been unfortunate enough to have had to utilize their service without being able to make their own choice.

  AMR charged my mother for two trips, one for $250 and one for $237.09. We paid them $250, and instead of paying off the bill that was $250 they split the payment between the two bill which caused my 75 year-old mother to get confused about the bills. The people who called her about the bills where insulting and were flat out harassing her. Even the people calling about the bills couldn't explain why the amounts due didn't match. Be very carful about anything you owe to this company.I gave them 2 stars because the actual people who came out to take my mom to the hospital were very professional and nice to her but we will never use this company again.

  If I could hit NO STARS I WOULD ,,, Why did you remove y review REGARDING THE DEATH OF MY HUSBAND ON YOUR AMBULANCE JANUARY 21 ***** You THOUGHT MY HUDBABD WAS ON DRUGS ALL THREE TINES *** CAME YOU KEFT MY HUSBAND LAYING IN THR PARKING LOT ALMOST 20 min No LIGHTS NO SIRENS COMING OR GOING YOU FIDNT THINK IT WAS A ENERGENCY TET HE DUED 2 min after you left 4 min from hospitalLETS DONT FORGET 911 who had me on hold 10 min when they finally answered and dispatch said he was breathing fine PLEASE TELL. ME WHY A NURSE ****** AND SAID I NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT-MEDICINE YOU GAVE HIM MY HUSBAND ON THAT 4 min ride his name WAS ************************* HE WAS NOT A DRUG USER he WAS a LIVER TRANSPLANT SURVIVOR WHO WAS ALSO STRUCK BY A VEHICLE WHO HAD NOT USED DRUGS IN. 38 years He was stronger then any of you could ever be and he is dead WHY!!!!

  Like the other reviews, I have been totally ripped off by this company. My son who has cerebral palsy had to be taken to the hospital. He ended up being diagnosed with a serious uti infection and admitted to the hospital. This was in June 28 2022 Later he had to return to the hospital. The same company returned in July 2022. ******** paid the majority.of the bills. However medical was not billed. So I paid the balance of $314.14 I have been dealing with them since Nov 2022 They have lied to me telling me that I would be reimbursed. Every time I called an employee named *** would say that the refund was being processed and to be patient. I have been patient. Today I was told that I am not due a refund. There should be something that can be done about this company. My advice is if you have an emergency and are in need of an ambulance, find out who is coming and if it is this company ask for a different one

  $2,000 for a ten minute ride. They did absolutely nothing except for a ride. The VA said my bills were taken care of, then I received the bill.It was sent to collections through a company off shore in ***** and they gave me another number that was in ***************. Tried to set set up a payment plan but they refused because it was over 120 days late even though the VA said everything was taken care of.I'm not paying a company off shore in ***** because AMR is refusing to accept my money.AMR is a scam ambulance service.10 minute ride to the hospital is $2000.00 and they didn't do anything except act as a taxi service.Scam, scam, SCAM STAY AWAY FROM AMR

  They charged me over $4000 for an ambulance ride. A **************** with no medical equipment etc necessary.My ins ** told them I didnt have to pay most of it. I paid my part. AMR is hassling me for the rest of the money anyway.And the *** was a **ld jerk who admitted to me he doesnt like people, while I was having my first ever panic attack and thought I was literally dying.Dont call an ambulance unless you absolutely have to, if these are the folks who will arrive. They dont seem to care and just want to rob you.

  They billed me over $1,300 for a one mile ride to the hospital. My insurance didn't cover it. I tried twice to negotiate a more reasonable price. I also contacted two elected officials and was ignored. Their costs for the ride were probably under $100. It's pure price gouging.

  The AMR billing department is pathetic and ineffective. My mother had an emergency in March 2023 and was taken to the local hospital for evaluation; after a few days in the hospital, the hospital transferred her by AMR ambulance to a rehabilitation facility. The following month my mother received 4 (legitimate) bills from AMR. I have power of attorney for my mother's finances. I paid 3 of the 4 invoices. My mother's insurance company said the 4th bill was coded incorrectly so the insurance company kicked it back to AMR. We have heard nothing on this particular invoice from AMR since. Of the 3 bills I did pay, AMR keeps sending me "Past Due" emails and mailings regarding one of the 3, saying it is unpaid and they will send my mother to Collections for non-payment. I have sent copies of the check number, bank statement showing it cleared the bank, etc. to show we paid this specific invoice but they still can't seem to find the payment in their system. I'm getting tired of this and will take THEM to court if they can't straighten this out and credit my mother's account. Calling them is fruitless - you get people in ********* or some other foreign country that know nothing about what you're talking about.

  Of course our insurance did not cover my husbands AMR transfer to the hospital, so we were left to pay an $1800.00 bill. I spoke with a representative from AMR and set up a payment plan. We diligently paid every month for like 5-6 months until we received a letter stating that we were being sent to collection unless we paid the remaining balance. Legally I was under the assumption that they could not send you to collection unless you werent paying your bill, but I guess thats not the case. My husband at the time was getting hours cut from work thanks to our wonderful economy, and this put ** in a financial crisis. After reading all the other comments on this page, I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company in my whole life. Ill have to look ** my area (******, **) to see what other medical transport companies there are, because Ill bleed to death before letting AMR transport me anywhere. They dont even deserve one star but you have to put one in to post this! ??????????

  Horrible company. ***** yr old mother fell in bathroom and bounced her head off the tile floor. Called 911 for ambulance to send her to hospital to check for brain bleed. EMT coded the call as non-emergency. They billed my mother $1700 that she had to pay out-of-pocket because it was not covered by her insurance because of that EMT.
