My issue is with their billiing . They have a terrible practice of sending your bill immediately to a collection. Everyone has different situations. I have health insurance and can't even get my bill paid because they immediately sent my bill to a 3rd party collection agency. The 3rd party they use doesn't answer the phone or handle business properly. The 3rd party is called *****(Gulfstream Outsourcing Specialized Billing). The incident happened in November. I'm still fighting to get the bill paid by my health insurance 5 months later.

It has been in excess of two months trying to have a small check reissued by AMR HOLDCO for transportation reimbursement. I have called and left messages during this time on multiple occasions. Once a lady actually answered but said she couldn't do anything, I would need to try back. I did try back, umpteen times and left messages. A second lady finally called me back a month ago. She said they could "absolutely reissue the check but it might take 2-3 weeks." I waited and the check never came. Tried calling again several times, left messages because no one ever answers the phone. The voicemail says they will call you back in ***** hours and not to leave multiple messages during that time period. I honored that request. Still, no one has ever called me back or answered the phone. The check still has not been reissued. The people at the transportation scheduling department have tried many times to find something out or help in any way they could but they were not able to get any further than I have been. I have tried to be polite when I left messages. I have tried to be patient assuming they are busy or short handed. There are actually a few checks over the year that I failed to cash in time due to my memory, so, my fault, and I did not ask for reissue of those checks. I assumed they would be sent to the state treasurers office after some time and I would deal with them at that time. That never happened either. So, today I called my insurer and reported the lack of communication and failure to reissue this check then I tried to call AMR again. Nothing has changed so I am now turning to BBB in the hopes that my simple request can be answered. I can't figure out why they are dropping the ball on this one. They are usually a good company to work with and the customer ********************** reps are mostly kind, patient and understanding. That is why I gave them 3 stars, because of their scheduling representatives.

My mom was transported from *********** to *******************. Transportation was arranged from the hospital to send mom by wheelchair back to her facility. I paid the bill which was in 2 parts but kept receiving statements by mail and e-mail. Even after the checks were cashed the communication for payment continued. I considered this harassment. When you call and state that payment was made you have to talk to a billing associate that is hard to understand, they are unaware if the check cleared showing payment is still required. I will alert moms staff at her facility not to ever call AMR to respond for help. Billing needs to be addressed with this company, poor communication.

I am currently dealing with this company about transport of .my husband from a skilled nursing facility to the hospital er. Got a couple of vague texts first about a bill for this but no date or phone for the company. After receiving a paper bill for more than $2000.00 I called and spoke to someone (difficult to understand). He was unclear about my husband's ******** number so I gave it to him as well as his supplemental insurance, which came back to him as unknown. Then gave him their toll free number and address. He wanted my husband's social security number and I told him NO, you don't need it to process the claim. We shall see how this goes. Was told to allow ***** days for processing? After reading all of the negative reviews why a facility would use this company is beyond compression. I plan to stay on top of this for sure.

The actual service provided was great and this would have been 5 Stars. But, same issue with this poorly supported billing process except that they never attempted to send my husband's bill to a collection agency. He has medicare and pays for a supplement that covers approved costs not actually paid by medicare. In April, 2022 his transport was necessary and covered by this. AMR submitted a bill for mileage to medicare and, of course, medicare does not pay mileage without an associated service. He was billed and wanted to pay but I knew it was covered. I called their not so friendly 800 number as there is no other information provided. Their response was I had to call medicare so I did more than once. After many bills being received and medicare telling me that they need to correctly submit the claim and have a medicare contact to use if they have issues, I told AMR this. After one 800 call, they hung up on me when I asked for their name. I found a local number for AMR and told them all that happened. They finally got a "customer advocate" to call me. She told me not to worry because if we don't pay, their hospital agreement would make the hospital pay. WHAT? Finally in Nov., 2022 they sent a valid claim to medicare which was approved and paid then to the supplement that was paid. Then another bill for the supplement in 2023. WHAT? I called the supplement. They said their payment was to an electronic credit card (WHAT?) so they resent the payment but this time as a regular check. Finally Feb, 2023 AMR shows paid. Their system does not show any information about all of these transactions except the times they sent us a bill. I wonder how many people just send them money to pay the billed amount instead of the medicare approved amount. Bad business practice and abuse of medicare customers for sure.

They are very corrupt. I contacted them of numerous time to have them bill my health insurance. After 7 months they did. I recommend that people keep track of their time they spend dealing with the billing department and them file a civil suit on them. Worst customer ********************** every!
