I have Medicare and mo health insurance. Well had. I got spindown issues easily fixed but not aetna. Just because of an address change, I've lost their coverage because of a code number. Had to do whole new application for them, was early in July. Called to check on my application and was told pending still. It's Aug now and I have to call again to see if it's fixed. Oh, their not BBB accredited. I wish I'd have looked at reviews first. It is happening during critical medical care time. I agree, no one can explain anything from this company. Seems most of these companies have no special departments to handle issues, you speak to whomever answers the phone. I was given 2 days notice after I called them, that I was uninsured. Just because of address change. So I have to call again to see if they got their act together. I'm building up hundreds of dollars worth of medical bills. I'm on friggin Medicare and Medicaid. Money is an issue. Hard to make it month to month as it is. Now this?

Aetna is an absolute nightmare. We had a health plan that required referrals for specialists. Our primary care physician referred us to an ENT for our daughter's ear infections, and the ENT then installed tubes in her ears. Aetna rejected the claim for the tubes surgery and is trying to charge us for it, stating that the referral from our PCP was for the ENT appointment only and that our PCP needed to make another referral for the surgery. This makes absolutely no sense, after the PCP refers you to a specialist, it's in the specialist's hands and the PCP is no longer involved in the process This is just one of many ways that Aetna tries to screw over its customers to make more money, and I'm surprised that this is even legal. After this happened to us multiple times, and we've heard from medical providers in Charlotte that many other patients are experiencing the same issues with Aetna, perhaps it's time to go to one of the news networks. It would make for an interesting story...

I’ve had surgery scheduled for over three weeks now and it is just 48 hours before my surgery and I get a phone call that my insurance denied my surgery
My doctor did appear to peer this morning and told me it was denied when I called my insurance company. I was told the decision wasn’t made yet. I called my doctors office back and they have a reference number to the denial so my insurance company lied to me the patient the insured the one who pays to have this insurance!!!!
I have a part-time job to supplement my Social Security so I can afford to eat since groceries are so expensive and I haven’t been able to work since the end of May now surgery scheduled who’s going to assist me? I’ve had an MRI. I’ve had other procedures but yet the insurance company knows better than my physician whether or not I need surgery, I would not choose Anna insurance for my primary insurance company or secondary for that matter

After going to physical therapy based on a referral from my doctor, Aetna is refusing to cover my “physical therapy evaluation” as they are saying this isn’t covered under the waived deductible that applies to physical therapy. After calling several times and having multiple people tell me it should be covered and they would take care of it, I continued to receive communication of my outstanding bill by my physical therapist office. Eventually Aetna claimed that a “physical therapy evaluation” (which is the billing code name) is not considered part of physical therapy and the deductible wouldn’t be waived or cover the evaluation. No employee could explain to me how that didn’t constitute physical therapy and why it wasn’t being covered, other than to say it was a “medical evaluation”, despite the billing code having the words “physical therapy” in the name. Not only were the employees extremely rude and untrained, but this seems like a way for Aetna to worm their way out of paying for something, by claiming it’s not covered despite it falling into the category that allows the deductible to be waived. No one was able to give a clear explanation of why it wouldn’t be covered and continued to just yell that it was a “medical evaluation”. They also couldn’t explain how I was supposed to refuse this “evaluation” if the physical therapist wouldn’t treat me without it, and it was a routine part of the appointment. I’ve never been charged for this through any other insurance. It’s clear Aetna will do anything to save a dollar on their end and don’t care about running their business with any ethics.

They will not cover ANY diabetic medicine. I tried two appeals and said I need a representative on my behalf- but it can’t be family or my doctor. So I have no way to have a rep to help me. Worst insurance ever, especially talking to an employee stating I’m not diabetic, it’s just in my mind.

I got life insurance through ***** and Aetna is their underwriter. They charged my bank account early and for more that quoted and agreed to.
I tried to call ***** for 5 days in a row and was given eight different numbers to call. Each call I was on hold for over 2 hours, just to be given a different number. The eighth called ended up in ******* payroll processing center who was actually helpful and found my account and gave me the direct number for my agent. Sadly that agent couldn’t help me and was actually rude. She gave another number to call that I had called before. After calling ten times to get through without being on hold and disconnected or a busy signal, I got through to be told they were closed. I will cancel this policy and get my money back..hopefully. However, need to get through and talk to someone to do that.
